My experience at every single Zaxby's is pretty poor, but cartersville location by the hospital is BY FAR the WORST. In the past couple years, I've been to Zaxby's only a couple times, and here is my experiences: waiting 45 minutes in a parking lot while waiting for an order that was placed ONLINE 20 MINUTES BEFOREHAND. They once threw away my receipt without asking if I want it, THEN decided to ask if I wanted it, and I said "I did but it's fine", and instead of accepting my decline or reprinting the receipt, they FISH IT OUT OF THE TRASH AND GIVE IT TO ME. Found multiple short, black, curly hairs in my milkshake. And while those were all on separate occasions, here is something that happens without fail at EVERY ZAXBY'S location. You pay for every single sauce you get, and THEN THEY DON'T GIVE THEM. Most fast food chains at least let you have a couple free sauces and charge you for excessive amounts. But Zaxby's charges for every individual sauce. And then you find that it's not in your bag or any of your boxes. I think it's ridiculous to charge for a 1 tablespoon serving of sauce in the first place, but then to hold them hostage from customers is insane. It happens so much I almost think the managers TELL their employees to do this so that they can make a couple extra bucks. The workers are always cold and miserable towards you. No matter how many times you say "thank you", "good evening", "have a good day", it's always the same. And I know it's not just my bad luck either, I've never heard anything good about the Cartersville Zaxby's. I got my blood drawn the other week, and the workers were talking lunch, and upon someone suggesting Zaxby's, another worker shared that they got food poisoning from this location recently.... I don't understand why anyone would ever want to go here. Price is higher than a cat's ass for the worst service you'll ever receive. read more

Told us they were not taking any more orders for the night when they had 20 minutes left to close

I went here today and I know it was very busy but the service was beyond slow. Workers were just standing around doing nothing about the line of cars in the drive thru and the line of people in the store. I paid for 3 honey mustards and they only gave me one. I paid for a large fry and there was about 10 fries in the box. The chicken was tasteless and soggy. The cashier at the front was nice however and apologized for the wait which i appreciated. read more

Thought we were stealing our food. Went to pick up a mobile order and comes and says we need to verify our food! This has never happened before. Others were picking up there food next to us and walked out the door, no questions asked. We went to pick our food and tends to walk to us and starts to ask for me to verift our order. We were the only ones to be questioned. This location is not worth it. I would rather go to a location 15 minutes away than to deal with this read more

The funnel came you pay $3.49 look like the picture. Over cooked, small Carmel cup and not worth the money. You can go to the store and spend less then that and make more at home for family. To many young playful ppl that work here. Tea was over spilled and told employee she said ok and never came around to change it or look at it. Lobby be ok, but food is not the same. Not fresh, fries be cold, and not more leaders working. The ambiance was typical for Zaxbys. It's dark in there and seats are old and you sit real low. read more

I'm not a picky eater...but..the last few times I ordered from here the food was so very salty I could not eat it. I tried avoiding the place for a year thinking that maybe the cooks would be different but nothing changed. Now the Asian chicken salad was great but the side of fried pickles I couldn't eat. Has anyone else had this experience with the saltiness of the food. I've never noticed this with other restaurants. read more

Quickest service ever. We walked and were greeted immediately, as I was filling up my soda cup I got my food. #goated

Where to begin ???? Staff completely unfriendly and unprofessional! We placed a mobile order . Went through the drive to grab it and were told it was being prepared and showed us where to park . Perfectly fine . 35 minutes later we walk in and they all act like they were clueless about our order, then a young lady goes over to the counter and says " here it is " and hands it over . No telling how long it had been setting there because when we opened the bag to check our order , it was COLD ! ( Go figure ). No apology or recognition that our Neal has been setting there forever ! Won't be back ! read more

Drive thru ladies are always pleasant. Food is fast and good. We have been going to this location for over a year and love it

Food was sub par , manger was very nice , and the cooks are understaffed ... jewell running the register tho very rude and condescending would not come back again unless your into be disrespected read more

My daughter worked here and had to quit because they still have not paid her for two weeks of work from April! Lied to us and said it's was lost, then they mailed it. After we went into the store the two managers said they were issuing her a new check. We still have not received anything!! Please do not support a place that does not pay their employees! read more

I am completely disappointed and frankly shocked by the lack of care and professionalism demonstrated at this location. First off, the attendant who took my order (her name was Goldie based on my receipt) was clearly unhappy to be working. The computer was acting up a little so she turned around and literally yelled for a manager. She didn't not care to excuse herself or communicate that something was wrong. I was left to stand there confused as hell as to why she wasn't taking my order after she asked. The manager threw a badge to her from the kitchen for her to swipe. Once the order was placed, I waited nearly 25 MINUTES before walking up to the counter. I was just about to ask for a manager to refund me for the food I had yet to receive when they brought the meals out -- no apology for having me wait or a 'thank you'. I checked my meals and sure enough they forgot my purchased sauces. I had to ask for them a second time. The coleslaw was NOT in a container either (like they usual are) so my fries were COMPLETELY soggy and cold. Their Coca-Cola machine was out of ice and they ran out of Coke! Like seriously, guys? The dining area was littered with trash on tables and the floor. There were sticky substances near the drinks and the trash cans were overflowing near entrances. THIS PLACE NEEDS HELP!!! Where's the love? I will NOT be returning. If they ever close their doors I will not be surprised and quite frankly we'd all be better off. read more

I've always loved Zaxbys but lately, the past 6 months or so it has really went downhill as far as how well the food is prepared. Today I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries, no drink, my sandwich literally has 3-4 small pieces of lettuce on it, which is the shredded lettuce and the rest of the lettuce was literally in the box around and underneath my sandwich, also with 6 pickles on it, of which I didn't realize it came with, I thought it was supposed to have tomatoes on it. (No tomatoes on it.) I don't like pickles, I would've said no to pickles had I known they now put pickles on it. Which I've never before bought one with pickles on it, this was a first for me . Not to mention the other times with the way the chicken tenders are so small and cooked so much they're too tough to eat. So disappointed . read more

We were traveling, tired and had stopped for the night near Zaxby's. We had seen this chain advertised throughout the South and had it delivered to our hotel. Food was great! read more

This Zaxby's is awful. The microphone at the menu is so quiet, I could hardly hear the server taking my order. I ordered a kickin' chicken sandwich and 2 large fries. I pulled up to the window and I get my drink. They ask me to pull into a parking spot and wait, as they were still cooking my fries. No problem. The person brings me the food and walks away. The fries had no seasoning and were cold, which was weird considering they said they were cooking them . My kickin chicken sandwich has no ranch & about two drops of hot sauce. The bread was not even toasted, just soaked in butter...soggy. This zaxbys needs to do better, or just shut down at this point. read more

Specifically asked for and paid for coleslaw that I didn't receive, ordered tenders tossed in tongue torch and got nuggets tossed in Buffalo. Not sure why I even bothered ordering if they're just giving out whatever they feel like giving out. 0/10 read more

After a bad experience at this location, I noticed that others have had similar here and I can't recommend this location. The food came pretty slowly for a fast food joint. I asked for a soda with a meal and instead got a sweet tea. The spicy mushrooms were fried to oblivion. My fries were fine but mostly pretty bland and lacking real flavor. Finally, the kicken chicken sandwich was probably the best thing we had although it was very saucy. Also, do you get the Zax sauce for free or do you have to order it? It wasn't offered but we eventually got the spicy mushroom horseradish sauce. I would assume with this type of food sauce and choices of sauces would be automatic. read more

I've been here twice in the last two weeks. Both times I've been told we don't have any drinks from the coke machine. I'm not sure who is in charge of this place but this is one of the worst Zaxby's I've ever went to. Not to mention the people who work there are rude 95% of the time. Inside is slow, drive thru is slow. Just overall a terrible location. I spent 25 minutes in the drive through yesterday. Just to get the food and have to tell them they forgot things. No sauces in the meals, mine was missing the toast, and the worst part is the attitude they give you when you say something. Will not return. You should AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Rudeness and poor service, from both the employees and the manager. While returning to Zaxbys to have my order replaced from last time I visited, the manager and the employees were extremely rude, didn't secure the lids on the drinks and only filled the sauce cups to 1/3 , laughing and complaining at my daughter, for asking for the order to be made ride, the second time. I expect better for my money. I like Zaxbys but I rarely eat there because of the poor service and 1/2 the time my order is wrong. Now I'm fed up with them , my car has tea spilled in it and my food is poorly made. These pics are after they had the chance to fix the problem read more

I don't normally write reviews. But I haven't been to this Zaxby's in years. Today reminded me why. thI ordered a salad, it only had like 3 tiny little cubes of chicken. The Nibblers meals didn't have the Zax sauce. It reminded me of why I dislike zaxbys. Chick Fil A salad is way better. read more

Did not give a 1 star simply because they appear to be under staffed & the staff is always friendly when I'm there. However, this is the third time in a row this has happened. I generally order the same thing - a chicken finger plate tossed in sauce w/ a coke. This time, we waited about 15 min at the window - they couldn't scan our app... but finally got our order & yet again no sauce on the tenders. Id truly love to see how they made this because there's no chance they even attempted to toss these in sauce...same could be said for the last two times I've been. I was also charged for extra fries, as I requested, but did not get those extra fries - if anything I can say I'm usually shorted on fries...but regardless, another let down of an experience. Plus this particular location is usually the busiest spot in town and the lines are ridiculous to say the least. read more

I hate zaxby's now because every time I go to any of their restaurants they always mess my order up by adding sauce Even though I tell them loud and clear not to add any sauce so now I just lost 20$ read more

I am sorry I know this is long and I realize they may have been short staffed. It only takes a few minutes to treat customers right. At no point was I rude to them. I just wanted what was ordered. After waiting 15-20min in the drive-thru, my wife ordered me a fried cobb salad. She waited another 5-10min for her order and received it at 5:33 pm, then left. Upon arriving home @ 5:55 pm, we were both shocked to find no chicken on the salad. I immediately headed back to the store. I arrived at the store about 6:25 and proceeded to wait on the drive-thru line for an additional 15-20 min. Once reaching the speaker, I explained to the cashier that my wife had just ordered a fried cobb Zalad, but we did not receive any chicken on the salad. At this point, the cashier told me to drive around to the window. At the window, I explained again to the cashier, my wife had just ordered a fried cobb Zalad, but we did not receive any chicken on the Zalad and presented her the untouched Zalad. The cashier then yelled this information to what I assume was the manager (When asked, they said her name was Trista). The cashier then asked me for my receipt. Upon reading the receipt, the cashier informed me that they had rung up my wife for a garden cobb Zalad (An item not listed on the drive-thru menu, See photo). I explained that was not what my wife order or wanted. The cashier then told me there was nothing they could do. I then asked to speak to the manager (Who refused to come out). The cashier then told me, my wife, order a garden cobb Zalad. I explained again that she did not order a garden Zalad, and it is not even an item listed on Zaxby's drive-thru menu. I asked to speak to the manager again. The cashier with no name tag then told me people do order Zalads with no meat. I am unsure what that had to do with my order and explained that it was not what my wife ordered. Realizing that the cashier was not familiar with the Zaxby menu, I explained again that the garden Zalad is not even an option listed on the Zaxby drive-thru menu, and the way the Zalads are listed only shows the option of fried or grilled. There was no mention of a no meat option, so any logical person would not expect the Zalad to be rung up with no chicken. There is not even a monitor to verify what has been rung up at all by the cashier. This same cashier with no name tag then told me I was holding up the drive thru. There was no consideration that this was my family's second time having to go through this drive-thru today (Approximate wait time total 40 -60 min). I then told the cashier it was not my fault Zaxby's drive-thru was backed up, and it was only being exacerbated by her manager's lack of respect to speak to me to resolve the issue. I would have been happy to pull to the side and wait to talk with her but was never given this option. After hearing something being yelled from the back, the cashier informed me they would only give me the missing chicken. Considering by this time 6:55 pm, the salad has now been sitting in my hot car for about an hour and a half(Cobb Zalad comes with eggs), would they consider remaking the whole salad. The answer was no! At this point, I left the drive-thru window, parked my car, and proceeded to take a picture of Zaxby's drive-thru menu. I then went back to the window and showed the menu to the cashiers. Still, no effort was made by the manager to offer any proper service recovery. So, by the time I got home to eat my Father's Day meal, I was left with a 2-hour old hot cobb #Zalad. Thank you, Manager Trista and #Zaxby"s #Zaxby read more

Every time I order fingers the short me by one or two fingers, So count them before you leave

This is the worst zaxbys! They're always out of everything apparently or either never want to make anything! Service is terrible. Went through the drive thru and a lady came to give me my food and they didn't mention they were out of coleslaw and she says if I want to come inside. Never offered me a replacement for it. They should have been the ones to offer to get me something else instead of asking me to go inside. Sat in the drive thru for 40 minutes! Maybe it's crummy because it's the 4th of July, but the fries were over cooked and barely warm. The grilled chicken sandwich was smothered in sauce. The shake was served mostly melted. Racism still live on!! I went in and ordered The Big Zax Snack. Take note it's on 3 chicken Tenders, fries, a drink and a toast. I sat for 25 minutes only to have 2 different families that ordered after me received their Big Orders before me. I went up to the counter and when the manager asked about my order they said the didn't see it. How when I have my receipt and the drink in my hand. I said I'm just going to get my money back. The manager gave my money back said nothing to the pro in the back. Didn't even try to have them fix my order. Just gave my money back. I have never been treated like that and must admit I was really hurt. I will never go to another Zaxby. Especially not in Cartersville!! read more

I guess this gets a 1 star since they got my large sweet tea no ice correct. First off, I visit this restaurant weekly. Order: 1 large grilled cobb zalad no bread no fried onions /ranch 1 smaller grilled cobb zalad again no bread no fried onions/ranch Told at window 5to6 minutes for grilled is that ok? Yes 17 minutes later he comes out with the bag, "sorry about that have a blessed rest of your day". Get home: 2 HOUSE zalads )Yes they are grilled WITH BREAD and GRILLED ONIONS on both. Just for clarification, I was watching the kitchen waiting for someone bringing my bag out and as he left the kitchen area the bag hit the wall which then shook the fried onions all over the zalads. My husband is enjoying his dinner. I however (due to food allergies) cannot eat this zalad without becoming very ill. It will not be good tomorrow for his lunch so thank you for taking my money and giving me nothing in return. And they charged me 25 fricken cents for more sauce. read more

I stop in here at least once a week to pick up a fried chicken house "zalad". The customer service is typically great - and the food orders are processed quickly. I typically use the drive-through unless it's really backed up, and if that's the case, then I'll run in to get my to-go order, which happens occasionally because I'm usually there during the lunch rush. 9 times out of 10 I have no issue at this Zaxbys. Every once in awhile something will happen like the drive through forgets to put my salad dressing in my bag, etc, but that's a typical mistake that happens at any fast-food restaurant, and is why I've giving 4 instead of 5 stars. They handle specialty orders well too - always repeating the order back to me to ensure that it's done accurately. read more
