My experience at every single Zaxby's is pretty poor, but cartersville location by the hospital is BY FAR the WORST. In the past couple years, I've been to Zaxby's only a couple times, and here is my experiences: waiting 45 minutes in a parking lot while waiting for an order that was placed ONLINE 20 MINUTES BEFOREHAND. They once threw away my receipt without asking if I want it, THEN decided to ask if I wanted it, and I said "I did but it's fine", and instead of accepting my decline or reprinting the receipt, they FISH IT OUT OF THE TRASH AND GIVE IT TO ME. Found multiple short, black, curly hairs in my milkshake. And while those were all on separate occasions, here is something that happens without fail at EVERY ZAXBY'S location. You pay for every single sauce you get, and THEN THEY DON'T GIVE THEM. Most fast food chains at least let you have a couple free sauces and charge you for excessive amounts. But Zaxby's charges for every individual sauce. And then you find that it's not in your bag or any of your boxes. I think it's ridiculous to charge for a 1 tablespoon serving of sauce in the first place, but then to hold them hostage from customers is insane. It happens so much I almost think the managers TELL their employees to do this so that they can make a couple extra bucks. The workers are always cold and miserable towards you. No matter how many times you say "thank you", "good evening", "have a good day", it's always the same. And I know it's not just my bad luck either, I've never heard anything good about the Cartersville Zaxby's. I got my blood drawn the other week, and the workers were talking lunch, and upon someone suggesting Zaxby's, another worker shared that they got food poisoning from this location recently.... I am completely disappointed and frankly shocked by the lack of care and professionalism demonstrated at this location. First off, the attendant who took my order (her name was Goldie based on my receipt) was clearly unhappy to be working. The computer was acting up a little so she turned around and literally yelled for a manager. She didn't not care to excuse herself or communicate that something was wrong. I was left to stand there confused as hell as to why she wasn't taking my order after she asked. The manager threw a badge to her from the kitchen for her to swipe. Once the order was placed, I waited nearly 25 MINUTES before walking up to the counter. I was just about to ask for a manager to refund me for the food I had yet to receive when they brought the meals out -- no apology for having me wait or a 'thank you'. I checked my meals and sure enough they forgot my purchased sauces. I had to ask for them a second time. The coleslaw was NOT in a container either (like they usual are) so my fries were COMPLETELY soggy and cold. Their Coca-Cola machine was out of ice and they ran out of Coke! Like seriously, guys? The dining area was littered with trash on tables and the floor. There were sticky substances near the drinks and the trash cans were overflowing near entrances. THIS PLACE NEEDS HELP!!! I've always loved Zaxbys but lately, the past 6 months or so it has really went downhill as far as how well the food is prepared. Today I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries, no drink, my sandwich literally has 3-4 small pieces of lettuce on it, which is the shredded lettuce and the rest of the lettuce was literally in the box around and underneath my sandwich, also with 6 pickles on it, of which I didn't realize it came with, I thought it was supposed to have tomatoes on it. (No tomatoes on it.) I don't like pickles, I would've said no to pickles had I known they now put pickles on it. Which I've never before bought one with pickles on it, this was a first for me . After a bad experience at this location, I noticed that others have had similar here and I can't recommend this location. The food came pretty slowly for a fast food joint. I asked for a soda with a meal and instead got a sweet tea. The spicy mushrooms were fried to oblivion. My fries were fine but mostly pretty bland and lacking real flavor. Finally, the kicken chicken sandwich was probably the best thing we had although it was very saucy. Also, do you get the Zax sauce for free or do you have to order it? Did not give a 1 star simply because they appear to be under staffed & the staff is always friendly when I'm there. However, this is the third time in a row this has happened. I generally order the same thing - a chicken finger plate tossed in sauce w/ a coke. This time, we waited about 15 min at the window - they couldn't scan our app... but finally got our order & yet again no sauce on the tenders. Id truly love to see how they made this because there's no chance they even attempted to toss these in sauce...same could be said for the last two times I've been. While returning to Zaxbys to have my order replaced from last time I visited, the manager and the employees were extremely rude, didn't secure the lids on the drinks and only filled the sauce cups to 1/3 , laughing and complaining at my daughter, for asking for the order to be made ride, the second time. I expect better for my money. I like Zaxbys but I rarely eat there because of the poor service and 1/2 the time my order is wrong. This is the worst zaxbys! They're always out of everything apparently or either never want to make anything! Service is terrible. Went through the drive thru and a lady came to give me my food and they didn't mention they were out of coleslaw and she says if I want to come inside. Never offered me a replacement for it. They should have been the ones to offer to get me something else instead of asking me to go inside. Sat in the drive thru for 40 minutes! I am sorry I know this is long and I realize they may have been short staffed. It only takes a few minutes to treat customers right. At no point was I rude to them. I just wanted what was ordered. After waiting 15-20min in the drive-thru, my wife ordered me a fried cobb salad. She waited another 5-10min for her order and received it at 5:33 pm, then left. Upon arriving home @ 5:55 pm, we were both shocked to find no chicken on the salad. I immediately headed back to the store. I arrived at the store about 6:25 and proceeded to wait on the drive-thru line for an additional 15-20 min. Once reaching the speaker, I explained to the cashier that my wife had just ordered a fried cobb Zalad, but we did not receive any chicken on the salad. At this point, the cashier told me to drive around to the window. At the window, I explained again to the cashier, my wife had just ordered a fried cobb Zalad, but we did not receive any chicken on the Zalad and presented her the untouched Zalad. The cashier then yelled this information to what I assume was the manager (When asked, they said her name was Trista). The cashier then asked me for my receipt. Upon reading the receipt, the cashier informed me that they had rung up my wife for a garden cobb Zalad (An item not listed on the drive-thru menu, See photo). I explained that was not what my wife order or wanted. The cashier then told me there was nothing they could do. I then asked to speak to the manager (Who refused to come out). The cashier then told me, my wife, order a garden cobb Zalad. I explained again that she did not order a garden Zalad, and it is not even an item listed on Zaxby's drive-thru menu. I asked to speak to the manager again. The cashier with no name tag then told me people do order Zalads with no meat. I am unsure what that had to do with my order and explained that it was not what my wife ordered. Realizing that the cashier was not familiar with the Zaxby menu, I explained again that the garden Zalad is not even an option listed on the Zaxby drive-thru menu, and the way the Zalads are listed only shows the option of fried or grilled. There was no mention of a no meat option, so any logical person would not expect the Zalad to be rung up with no chicken. There is not even a monitor to verify what has been rung up at all by the cashier. This same cashier with no name tag then told me I was holding up the drive thru. There was no consideration that this was my family's second time having to go through this drive-thru today (Approximate wait time total 40 -60 min). I then told the cashier it was not my fault Zaxby's drive-thru was backed up, and it was only being exacerbated by her manager's lack of respect to speak to me to resolve the issue. I would have been happy to pull to the side and wait to talk with her but was never given this option. After hearing something being yelled from the back, the cashier informed me they would only give me the missing chicken. Considering by this time 6:55 pm, the salad has now been sitting in my hot car for about an hour and a half(Cobb Zalad comes with eggs), would they consider remaking the whole salad. The answer was no! At this point, I left the drive-thru window, parked my car, and proceeded to take a picture of Zaxby's drive-thru menu. I then went back to the window and showed the menu to the cashiers. Still, no effort was made by the manager to offer any proper service recovery. I stop in here at least once a week to pick up a fried chicken house "zalad". The customer service is typically great - and the food orders are processed quickly. I typically use the drive-through unless it's really backed up, and if that's the case, then I'll run in to get my to-go order, which happens occasionally because I'm usually there during the lunch rush. 9 times out of 10 I have no issue at this Zaxbys. Every once in awhile something will happen like the drive through forgets to put my salad dressing in my bag, etc, but that's a typical mistake that happens at any fast-food restaurant, and is why I've giving 4 instead of 5 stars. I explained that i had never been to a zaxby's and had no clue the food or what came with things so it was a bit irritating they didn't explain what came in the combos.
