    Burger and fries combo
    Bill D.

I don't usually give a strong review of fast food places, but I come here fairly regularly and this place is consistently good. First of all the food is always fresh and good, I usually come in for a burger and fries because for the price and quality, it can't be beaten locally. This particular location is always clean, always well staffed, the employees are always polite and professional, the service is fast, and although it's a walk-up counter with no table service I believe it keeps costs down and allows the staff to concentrate on the food quality. There is nowhere else in town where you can consistently get a fresh and good quality burger at these prices.

Chicken fingers and a Double Steakburger Double Cheese

This was my first time inside a Steak 'n Shake in probably 6 years. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Had the classic diner vibes with a touch of the current times. I was shocked to see the classic menus had gone away so you can order with a cashier at the register with the menu above them. Karen was super friendly and patient while we over looked the menu. I was super impressed with the fast order times and fast delivery of the food to the table. Food was super fresh and delicious. I ordered the chicken finger combo and my boyfriend ordered a double burger. We were both super excited with the new beef tallow fryer oils, it really made the food taste amazing and I didn't feel groggy or gross afterwards. Totally worth the drive and the money. I really look forward to coming back again soon!

Yuck a very greasy Triple Steakburger 'n Cheese Steakburger
    Mark S.

This was just a few years ago one of my favorite places for lunch . Now I remember why I quit eating here. Triple burger extra greasy, cold fries and medium drink $14 ouch. If it's going to be $14 I'd expect much better. The burger is so greasy I put a napkin under it while I at the fries and it's soaked with grease . If the cook would just take a second to press the grease out. I didn't have the heart to complain to Karen. She was the only one out front and very nice. Someone needs to talk to the kids in back . It was so greasy I flipped it over and ate it open face

    Tammy's famous slaw
    Joe H.

Hello all, Jed "truck driver" Johnson here... It was a long, lonely night on the road, miles rolled by, lot lizards bedded.... Needless to say, I crossed the Georgia line and shore as sheet, I'd worked up a hunger. Now, mostly times a burger would work just fine, hell, even a slice of mommas peecan pie would suffice... But tonight I had a hankerin, a hankerin fur slaw! 12:43 in the a.m. I whipped my rig into the Cartersville Steak n Shake.... Tammy "the tooth teaser" promptly waited on me and said "hey cowboy, what'll it be?" I said "Tammy, hows about some that famous sloppy slaw I've been hearing so much about since Sacramento"... 2 large shakes and a bowl of hormel's later, Tammy brought to me a saucer of sweet succulent success in the form of slaw! Now, I'm from Texas and in Texas, if the slaw comes out dry, you ain't frecklin no toilet bowl I'll promise ya that! What Tammy brought me, well...it's a guaranteed three rest knot stop at the next gas-o-rama fill'n station! I'll let the photos speak for it's self....

    Here's it climbing the wall

I roach jumped off the wall into my hair and then into the food... worst restaurant experience of my life. Will be calling the health inspectors. And the food was nasty. The fries were smaller than a new born baby's fingers. Floors are nasty. Workers didn't care about my problems. If I could, I would rate it -5 out of 5

We let him know that our son has celiac disease and it turned out that Nathan also has celiac disease. Because of this he was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful in helping us navigate the menu and choose safe options for our son. Even better our son was able to connect with Nathan and swap stories about living gluten free which meant so much to us as parents. That personal connection truly made the experience special. The atmosphere is fantastic and feels like a true cellar tucked away in the basement giving it such a cool and unique vibe. It felt like a hidden gem and a really fun place to discover. I also had a gluten free apple cider that was made locally and it was hands down one of the best ciders I have ever had. Between the outstanding service the care shown for food allergies and the unique setting this was an unforgettable visit. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend The City Cellar and Loft to anyone especially families navigating celiac disease.

I got the fish and chips and substituted fries for macaroni and cheese. The fish was very bland. The macaroni had potential. It came in a little cast iron skillet, but the macaroni tasted more like the skillet than cheese. My husband got the Buffalo chicken wrap and fries. A lot of food came on his plate, but the wrap was just ok. Overall disappointed, this place seemed promising. It was about $80 after tip, definitely not worth that!! True rating: 2.7/5

Our son has celiac disease, and Nick was incredibly knowledgeable and proactive, personally making sure everything was clearly communicated with the chefs so we felt completely comfortable and confident. The atmosphere was very relaxed yet attentive we never had to ask for a thing because Nick was always one step ahead and made sure we had everything we needed. On top of that, he took the time to recommend things to do while we're visiting, which was such a thoughtful touch. We don't live in town, but the downtown area is absolutely amazing, and after this experience, we can't wait to explore it more tomorrow in the daylight. And the food, hands down five stars across the board. We will absolutely be back when passing through, and if you're dining here, ask for Nick!

The sunchokes, golden beets, and squash with the salmon were amazing; they melted in your mouth, and the fennel and orange flavors were a nice touch (5/5). The tarragon cream was an excellent sauce; the only reason why I am not giving it a 5 is that the salmon itself was a little plain. The service was good but a little slow (4/5); the guy who brought out our food was really funny! The interior of the restaurant is also pretty nice (4/5). My wife ordered the n appetizer nachos for her meal, she couldn't finish them. They were huge, they did need some sort of a "wet" topping (queso, salsa, something). I had the double gonzo burger with Parmesan chips. If I had known the burgers were sure'nuff hand patties and thick, I would have only ordered the regular burger. I couldn't take a bite, had to remove a patty and eat it separately. It was cooked to the right temp, but it could use some seasoning. It was good, but just plain meat, no seasoning mixed in. Our waitress was attentive and never let my tea glass get to the bottom before bringing me another one!

1-Star Review (and that's being generous)…read more My wife and I were visiting home from Arizona and decided to try Ate Track Bar after several locals recommended it. We walked in expecting a fun, nostalgic spot with good food. Instead, we were hit with some of the most bizarre, unprofessional, and politically-charged décor I've ever seen in a business. Right away, we noticed signs pushing extreme right-wing political views plastered around the bar. It was uncomfortable, but we tried to shrug it off and assume maybe it was satire, maybe equal-opportunity joking. Then we saw the signs by the restrooms: "Restrooms - Republicans Only" and "Restrooms - Democrats Only." At that point, we realized this wasn't humor. It was just tacky. In 2025, with the kind of division this country is already dealing with, why would any business choose to alienate customers like this? As a consumer, I don't need - or want - your political views shoved in my face. I came to eat, not join a rally. We immediately decided to leave. Ironically, the hostess told us a table had just opened up, but there was no way we were staying after feeling that uncomfortable and unwelcome. The saddest part? My wife is a well-known influencer who was literally excited to do a fun, positive post about this place. Instead, we walked out offended and disappointed. Why lose customers over politics? Why create an environment where people feel judged or divided before they even sit down? Thankfully, we walked about 100 yards down the street to Table 20, where we were greeted warmly and had one of the most delicious lunches we've had in a long time. Night and day difference. Ate Track Bar might be a "nostalgic" spot for some, but for us, it was a harsh reminder that not every business is interested in welcoming all customers. If you're looking for good food and a place where you don't have to decode someone's political agenda just to eat, keep walking. There are better options right down the street.
