I ordered to go and it took almost 30 minutes. That was the average time for the other diners. Additionally, almost every order I saw was returned for being wrong. I ordered 2 burgers and a medium fries, and they missed one burger. When they "fixed" the order I had both burgers, a cold medium fries, and a fresh small fries. I felt bad for the girl working the counter and delivering orders. Even with all of the angry customers she was apologetic, friendly, respectful, and really hustling. I normally really like Steak and Shake but this one really let me down. read more

Oh, I'm so glad this location still provides actual service! The restaurant still has the diner feel with a twist of modern industrial added. There are no kiosks at this location so you'll have a waiter/waitress (which I LOVE). Restaurant was very clean and the service was fast. The food was very fresh and so tasty. My favorite menu item is the Frisco melt with cheese fries! Their milkshakes are also very good and they have a large variety of flavors, but I'm partial to the cookies and cream (always). read more

The last couple times we went since the new management, the burger flavors we wanted were not available and on the most recent visit, half the burger menu was not available (literally crossed out with black tape). We gave it another try few days ago, however, brought more disappointment. They did not give me a receipt so had to inquire to redeem my points. We like Steak n Shake burgers for the chewy buns, but would really appreciate being able to place the order ahead for this location on the app and be able to order the type of sandwich that is supposedly available at other locations. read more

Restaurant was dirty. It took forever to get food. Our milkshakes sat on the counter waiting for our server to bring them to us for far too long. Our server appeared under the influence. She ended up in the back of the restaurant crying before we left. Very bizarre experience. We will not be back. read more

Gross. Just gross. The pickles were somehow chewy and the bun was well beyond stale.

Though we would give them a try. Bacon cheeseburger didn't have any bacon. Small and medium fries were the same. So don't pay extra for the medium. But the worse part was opening my soda cup and saw this large hair on the inside. So gross. read more

On 11/24/2019 at approx. 12:00 PM My wife and I visited the Steaknshake in Carrollton, Ga. I had loaded $20.00 on their app in order to pay for our meal. I went to pay the check with the app. The bill came to $12.48 plus a $3.00 tip for a total of $15.48. The Assistant Manager could not get the register to take the money from the app so I had to pay the $15.48 from my debit card. All total my lunch ended up costing me $35.48. I have called the Steaknshake main number at 1-877-785-6745 twice to get my 20.00 I loaded to the app refunded since I couldn't use the app to pay for my meal. I have met with nagative results both times. They gave me a reference number regarding the incident (#1520624). I would just like the $20.00 that I loaded to the app refunded after which I plan on deleting the app from my smartphone since it doesn't work. FTC #113907713 read more

I went there yesterday with my son, the service was friendly and quick. They had a few off menu items and it was great. The waitress checked several times on us as the manager. The restaurant has new management and you can see this. At this moment it should be a lot more than 1.5 star. read more

We went there last night for dinner. Waited for someone to seat us. The cook came and seated us. Then we sat. A waitress finally came and took our drink order. We waited. Drinks finally came. No menu's. We sat. Wife looked at me and we got up to at least pay for our drinks. No one came to even take our money. Wife was nice enough to leave $5 for the drinks. Now to let you know I have had terrible service here before. If they don't get it together they are going to close. As we left a group was entering and asked how it was. Said I don't know as I never got served. read more

Don't do it. I've tried countless times because it's on the conveniently located on the edge of town, but I'm an idiot because it never improves. Sometimes they are open and others there may be a single car in the lot with no one at the window. Are they open or??? If you do manage to find them on an open day, be prepared to wait and then wait some more. The service will be a joke, and you will want to punch yourself in the face. However, you will have probably already waited so long that you feel invested enough to stick it out hoping the food will be hot. It will be, but ask for extra napkins because the grease will inevitably pour out of the bag and wrappers. This place is disgusting. I can't believe they haven't just closed it already. read more

Where is the "ZERO stars" button? Forget it. Just keep driving. Trust all of us. This Steak 'n Shake sucks. Don't bother.

This is really just a glorified McDonald's. The waitress was incredibly rude, never smiled once. We ordered two shakes and two cokes. The shakes took 15 minutes and then literally weren't even mixed. Seriously, it was just vanilla icecream with toppings on top. When the food came out five minutes later, I was given the wrong order. She dropped off our food and check and then never check on us again. No ketchup at the table, had to stop someone else to ask for silverware, and we never got one refill. In conclusion, awful service, wrong food, no refills. Don't waste your time. read more

This place in my view is no longer acceptable. The dining room needs some attention to cleaning. There is food splatters that have not been cleaned up for months. The menu has been tremendously reduced. At this point not a viable option any longer. read more

For lunch my family and I were hungry after moving storage all day so we decided to go to steak n shake. "I love steak n shake" Today was different. Today I ordered the White Truffle Burger as I always do. (For people who don't know what that is it is a mushroom swiss burger which is a plain burger with mushrooms and swiss cheese with mayonnaise. We waited a little less than 27 minutes which is good for steak n shake. Immediately I noticed our waitress was a little nervous. Maybe she was new or she was afraid about the food being wrong had just woken up. (I don't blame her at all.) Anyways we get our food and immediately I go in for the fries with cheese. The fries were warm but not burning my soul which I like food to burn my soul. The cheese was cold. My White Truffle Burger had onions and barley any mushrooms and my burger was cold. (I think there were like 4 mushrooms.) My food was wrong but because I didn't want to hurt this poor ladies feelings I pick off the onions. I ate maybe 3/4 of the burger and like half of the fries. I did ask for fresh cheese sauce tho. So I ate the fries with HOT cheese sauce. Overall what I take out of this is steak n shake needs more staff cause they were understaffed big time and what little staff there was needs to write what the food is down. Thank you for your time read more

Very slow seating as most tables and booths were still loaded with dirty dishes. Waitress cleared a booth for us and wiped the table with a dirty, soaked towel that left the table very wet. Had to get napkins to dry it. Management needs to get on top of this store. Reason for the 2 ostars. Too bad too because we love the food. Chick Fil A and many others are very close. read more

Food is ok, this steak and shake though is one of worst ran restaurants you will ever go to. The place first is dirty.. look around and see dirt and food all over the floors under the tables, the tables never got cleared unless someone needed them to sit down. So we had to stare and smell old food as we tried to eat ours. 1 waiter who also has the job to sit people, run register, and run food. Needless to say we thought they were short handed till I looked into the kitchen and saw 8 people standing there. Manager on grill clearly not managing his crew which included 2 people on fries? 2 on milk shakes? And one waitress which may have been on break but was sitting down watching everyone work. Not sure kind of felt sorry for them but I have been some really good and clean steak and shakes so not sure where the breakdown is here. Looked like poor quality of help to me. I will never come back to this location after this read more

No one will wait on me. guess they got more business than they need. Then i went and sat in an empty drive thru. Took 5 min for them to acknowledge me. I then asked if it would take 30 min to be served. They responded no you are the only person in the drive thru. They refuse to believe I waited 30 min with no service and offered no discount or apologies. Then asked what I wanted and I told them I didn't want anything they had. I said going down road to Wafflehouse. Then waived to the drive thru operator that had stepped out the back door. read more

If it weren't for my wife I would never go here. She likes the food so I try and accommodate. First I will say this: I'm surprised if they get my order right the first time. I've learned to not leave the drive thru without checking my bag first. Too many times have I gotten home and realized I didn't have what I paid for. Tonight when I visited, the kid working the window was very rude to me because I checked the bag after he handed it to me. He told me if I wanted to check it then I should pull into a parking space and not hold up the line. There wasn't anyone behind me. I told him that I didn't receive the BBQ sauce I requested. He said "For reals? Gimme dat bag and let me see." Not only will I not recommend this place to friends and family, I think it would be considered an act of cruelty to give your dog the leftovers from here. read more

Absolutely horrible!!!! I haven't had Steak 'n Shake in years. While out Christmas shopping, my bf and I thought we'd stop by for a late lunch/early dinner. Our server only showed up to take our order and bring our food. It took almost an hour to get our food and they weren't busy. I requested cherry coke. I was charged for it but only got regular coke. Whatever, no big deal. But when they brought our food to us, I seriously thought they gave us someone else's order! I ordered a Butter Steakburger, bf ordered a Triple Garlic Steakburger. My burger was DRY!! Bun was mashed, toasted extremely well. Fries were COLD! His Bun on his burger was extremely greasy. His fries were also cold. When she brought our food I told her that was wrong (assuming it was someone else's). She brought it back saying "no, that's the butter Steakburger." We also ordered 2 Cookie Dough Milkshakes. There was only 2 pieces of cookie dough in mine, same as my bf. It was watery and runny by the time they brought it to us. Not thick at all. I know what you order never looks like the pic on the menu but come on! This looked ABSOLUTELY nothing like the pic. I'm just super disappointed and in shock by how much Steak 'n Shake has gone down hill. I will NEVER go back to another one. I absolutely hate McDonald's but I'd rather have a McDonald's Quarter Pounder over that crap any day!!!! read more

I came out to order a milkshake and I ordered an Oreo milkshake. Once I got a little over a fourth done, I had tasted some peanut butter. I was upset because even though I don't mind PB, it allowed me to be upset about 2 things. 1. I could have been deadly allergic to PB which would have ended very badly. And 2. This restaurant doesn't care about cross contaminating customers food. Either they don't properly clean their milkshake machines, or just don't care about cross contamination. When I went back to the restaurant, the manager acted like it wasn't important and showed little remorse. Highly doubt the mgr will even speak to the employees about it. I was given the option to receive my money back or another milkshake, but considering I didn't know what would be present in the next one, I chose the refund. read more

Worst Steak & Shake I have ever been to! After the fourth consecutive time of getting our order wrong not only in the drive thru but sitting down I am fed up. The service is slow and while taking our order the last time not a single thing was right. The fries were also half filled and the food was cold (see pictures). Absolutely unacceptable. When we called to tell them, the manager politely offered to give us a refund or remake the order but we do not live nearby and we were not going to drive back up there. The only reason for 2 stars was the manager. This place needs help. If you're looking for a reasonably priced burger joint in the area try the cookout. It's like fine dining compared to this place! read more

As soon as we arrived the parking lot was full which is usually always a good sign! We were greeted as soon as we walked in, seated and drink orders taken! Waiter came back and took food orders! 10 mins later our food is done! Very quick & very polite! The food was amazing!!! Great prices also! After we ate we ordered shakes, & our waiter asked us would we mind waiting an extra min or so, So that our shakes would be half priced! Overall experience was immaculate! Will definitely be returning!! read more

Here's the story of how Steak'n'Shake lost a customer. The last time we went here was 2 years ago, and we've never been back. Our son and I took my husband to this Steak'n'Shake for Father's Day 2014 (we have rather plebeian tastes). We're all aware that the much-vaunted "steakburger" takes for freakin' ever to cook, so a 30 min wait to have our meal isn't a big deal. What WAS a big deal was how our orders weren't right when we got them, they were stone cold (the cheese on our son's burger was congealed already), had the wrong toppings, and were sloppily made. My son and his father had ordered shakes, and we're still waiting for them -- they never came. When I asked "Where are our shakes?" all we got was a shrug and an "I'll go check" from the waiter, who promptly disappeared and hasn't been seen since. Maybe other Steak'n'Shakes are still good. I don't know, there aren't any out here. But this is one to avoid at all costs. read more

No masks -- waitress asked if I wanted her to wear one. I said yes but she never put one on. No one in the restaurant had on masks. Waitress messed up three items on our order: brought tea instead of coke, brought fries instead of onion rings, asked for a side cup of cheese ... brought cheese fries for $2.29 instead. We mentioned all mistakes. She didn't offer to get the onion rings and we had to pay for the cheese fries. The whole place was nasty -- Windows, table. A worker in the kitchen was dancing the whole time -- throwing her hair around and dancing with ketchup bottles. Honestly, they don't deserve a rating of 1. We've always had problems with this Steak n Shake. We wanted to give it another try but this time we won't be back. read more

Steak ’n Shake - Still waiting. - Burgers Near Me - Carrollton, Georgia

The food was good but the service was horrible. I dined at this location during the late night shift; it was the first time doing so and it will definitely be the last. We arrived and had to wait more than five minutes to be seated. Employees looked at us several times, acknowledging that we were there, but not once did they approach us until we waved for someone's attention. We eventually sat ourselves. Our server was prompt and she took our orders without any issues, but throughout our dinner, our server never returned to ask how our meal was or to offer refills. She passed by our table several times, ignoring us while training another staff member. We sat at a table that was close to the counter. Several of the other employees were gathered behind it, talking to each other. We even overheard one of them say "That's not my table, so I don't have to worry about it" while motioning to our table where we already had empty plates and glasses. This Steak and Shake is in a great location, but its service does not even come close to its surrounding eateries. I doubt I'll ever return. read more

Had a 2:00 pm lunch. Near empty restaurant. Unusual for Steak and Shake. My service was excellent. His name is Robert S. My bowl of chile was not hot..not cold but just warm. The ffs were also tepid and may have been there for a while. Steak and Shake needs to invest in store management. They can do better and have a history to prove that point.
