I've been to this location a couple of times and have never been super impressed. Their staff has always been great, getting the food ready fast and even offering to clear our table when they saw we were done. My main issues with this place are with the food portion sizes. You get a lot of fries, but a majority of then are tiny or broken up pieces. The amount of meat they put on the sandwiches is a joke. I got done eating my meal and was still hungry, guess the regular size was not enough. The other issue is how clean the store seems. Everything looks in order, but like any place that makes fries in an open area and offers vinegar, everything just feels greasy. The floor by the pop machine was also super sticky to the point my shoes stuck to it as I got my drink. Bottom line, this place is okay, but there are better places to go for a quick bite. read more

I met a childhood friend here, after coming into town. I was apprehensive and asked if it was comparable to Penn Station, which I love and she stated yes. Anyway long story short, it does not compare to Penn Station in terms of quality, I tried the Primo Double Burger and the Steakhouse Sirloin both were disappointing, they both lacked flavor and I would rather go to Penn Station and get a Philly Cheesesteak and go to Mr. Hero to get the RomanBurger which is similar to the Primo, but packs alot of FLAVOR, the lemonade was tart and barely had sugar. However, the service was decent and the fries were good. But, after we left, my friend apologize about taking me there and I told her this would be my first and last time going to Steak Escape, cause its nothing special. read more

This is for my boyfriend's meal. "I went in here because they give 10% off to Tesla owners who are charging at the nearby chargers. I was expecting a half-decent cheesesteak that wouldn't give me food poisoning. I ordered the original philly cheesesteak, thinking there is no way they can mess something like this up. It was prepared in front of my eyes, but by the time I had walked over and was paying for it, it was ready and dripping cheese. I had some fries with it and a soda. It was one of the best philly cheesesteaks I have eaten in my entire life." First of all, the music was so loud we couldn't hear when we were asked about our choices, so we had to ask to have things repeated. The employees had to ask us to repeat our orders as well. We did not speak to each other the entire meal because of the music volume. Secondly, the employees were so rude and unfriendly. They obviously didn't want to be there at all, and certainly didn't want to smile or be nice. Not one smile or kind word. Both employees were extremely rude. I went to the drive-thru and the lady at the window had no mask whatsoever, the lady that was cooking my steak sandwich had a mask on her chin with her nose and mouth exposed. Needed a quick lunch and decided to stop and give this place a try. I went with the original sub.. It had steak, onions and cheese wiz.. I kept it simple... I have to say it was really tasty. The bread was good and just right. The steak was really good and tender. I also ordered a regular fry... That was really good too... I got a cup of cheese to dip a few of the fries too... Needless to say it was all good... To drink I got a iced tea, not hard to mess that up... The service was great and friendly. You can also use the drive through or order in to eat. Busy place at lunch time, but the order-taker and grill were both hustling and keeping things moving. The poor cashier seemed new and not totally trained. He was struggling. Took quite awhile to get our whole group through there. The insides of the sandwich are good, but nothing Earth-shattering. Selection is acceptable (but one of our group left and went to another place in the same strip after not finding a real good vegetarian option here). Not a fan of the bread. Fries are good. Baked S'mores are excellent, but a bit small compared to the monster cookies that can be had for the same price. Not a bad place to grab a quick bite at lunchtime when you work nearby, but I wouldn't make a special trip very far. read more

This place is empty, even during the lunch rush, which tells you it is dying a slow, grisly death. It deserves to. Went in with a friend. He ordered a small sandwich. I ordered a regular. The cook finished cooking them at almost the same time. They were sitting next to each other, waiting for the cashier to finish ringing up my friend. In front of the cashier, I asked my friend what size sandwich he ordered. He said a small. I said to the cashier, "I ordered a regular. Why are our sandwiches the same size." She looked over at them. She told the cook she was going to ring it up as a small. The cook said, "It is what it is." Neither offered to make me a bigger sandwich. Neither of them apologized. The employees are obviously not engaged in their work. I didn't want to ask him to make me another sandwich. At that point, I didn't trust him not to do something retaliatory. There should be 4 people working at one time, but business is so bad, they can't afford to fully staff, so service is poor. This place should be avoided. read more

Sadly they have lost a lot in their move from the mall - I used to love it when it was in the food court at Franklin Park. I was excited to see it move to Maumee in a freestanding location, but the same level of service has not moved with the business. Portions are smaller and quality has decreased as well. On a recent visit (June 24th) during the lunch hour the food was great but the store seemed to be understaffed that day. With only a few people in front of me in line it took around 25 mins from the time I got in line to when I paid. It seemed as if they were missing a person or two up front as the staff were all working hard (and very polite/friendly) but were not able to keep up with the orders. When I did get my food it was well made and tasty. Of all the times to not have enough employees the lunch hour rush in this area of town is probably the worst. Will give it a try another day and hope for a better experience. read more
