It's been well over a decade, but ever since Bennett Enterprises bought Packo's in a commodity play, the quality has gone downhill. Across the board, other than the pickles, things just aren't as good as they used to be. While the classic - original locations still have the spirit and vibe of the brand intact, these bizarro fast-food versions of Tony Packo's fall short. The food quality and flavors just aren't there, and the seasonal items like the pickle bread are just awful. Combine it with a plain interior and completely apathetic staff and you have Packo's in 2025.

Took all of the breading off and the fish was still salty.

Came in for the Lake Perch and were disappointed. Breading was thick and very salty. Service was great but restaurant was totally empty. I will not be back for the perch.

Stopped in here today to try the pickle bread. It is great a must try. It comes with orig packo pickles and banana peppers but you can request different pickles or jalapeños. Next time I am getting bread butter pickles. As usual great roast beef just wish they still had rye bread. Pickle bar is such a great touch! Very clean in here. Service was fantastic as well ‍

Tony Packo's is a must stop as we drive through the Toledo area. Normally we go to the restaurant on Front Street, but Secor rd is right off 475 and we found this location closest to our route. Food is typical Packo's--chili dogs, soup, goulash(chili on top of dumplings...) as well as cabbage rolls and paprikash. We got chili dogs, veggie soup, and goulash. All were very good. The food is served in a cafeteria style method. We see the food as it's being placed on the plate. Service is fast and friendly. Portions are reasonable. I enjoyed the comfy chairs in the restaurant and some of the Tiffany style lamps hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant is bright--quite a contrast from the original location. Parking is easy as this is set up like a fast food restaurant in a strip mall. Yes, they have a drive through. Restrooms were clean and easily accessed. Prices are reasonable. A selection of pickles are available near the beverage station and they are pretty good!! Good iced tea is one of the beverage options. Although this restaurant lacks to coziness of the original store, it has some features not normally found in a fast food restaurant.

Ok, I love that this is Klinger's favorite restaurant. Obviously. But this was a great place to eat! I live elsewhere and I am a travel nurse so I get to taste a lot of new stuff. The dogs and sausage were delicious! Cabbage roll and chicken chili were also great! We were seated immediately at dinner time and had great service. There is even a Packo's gift shop. Will return during this assignment.

    German potato salad

I stopped at the Tony Pacco drive-through on Secor to pick up dinner for myself and a friend. When I went to unpack the food, everything I ordered was not edible. I have a attached a picture of the German potato salad. The hot dog was water, soaked the chicken Paprikash was burnt and dry. We had peanut butter sandwiches for dinner. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food.

Went to this place is our parting luncheon Sunday before our kids went back to Ohio Hudson, Ohio and we went back to Frankfurt Illinois. It's an experience that's for sure. I don't eat pork so I couldn't eat any of their hotdogs which they're famous for chicken chili was delicious And I ordered a chicken sandwich but it was fried so I didn't eat it. It took them three times to get french fries crisp but they were good. It's an interesting place and someplace everybody should go once I went back. The only thing I would order is chicken chili. My wife had a bowl and I had a cup and we both agreed it was delicious, but everything else was kind of weird that stuff on their menu. They said they never have like diet Dr Pepper and one of the dishes wanted to order and the waitress said they were going to reprint the menu without those things but was a weird place enjoy the buns on the walls which I've got pictures for you.

As a loyal, consummate M*A*S*H fan, I had to try Tony Packo's since I was passing through on a long road trip. I was not disappointed (bought a T-shirt too!). There was a lot more variety to the food than I anticipated, but I was here for the dogs. A tiny bit more like a Kielbasa with a definite hot dog snap and taste, the dogs, topped with the finely diced sweet onions and special sauce (lots of cumin) were a savory and sensory delight. Pickles were really, really good (and on the spicy side.) Would really like to return to try many of the other dishes like the Chicken Paprikash and Stuffed Cabbage. And, by the way they even ship their hot dogs and sauce...check out their website for more info. Better yet...just stop in and enjoy.

I originally stopped in thinking this might be more of a coffee shop so I could grab a snack and coffee while pumping gas--kill two birds with one stone. From the outside--and even inside--it's aesthetically appealing and looks like a great spot. But the experience didn't quite match that first impression. The food itself didn't hit the mark in the taste factor--nothing terrible, just not memorable or worth the price in my opinion. That said, I'm open to trying other menu items because maybe I just didn't order the right thing. Customer service was pretty average--nothing to complain about, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, it didn't hit the mark this time, but I'd consider giving it another shot.

Since we were going to be in the Toledo area for a day, I was excited to hit the lone Ohio store, in Maumee. It is a nice looking white building by Kroger and there was no line to order. The young lady gave us cups and said our orders would be brought to us. I chose the Turkey Original, with the Chicken Tortilla Soup as a side. Boyf had the Pastrami & Swiss on Rye. There are wrapped brownies and cookies at the registers, as well as Cinnabon selections. While we waited in the dining room, a man who appeared to be owner or manager brought our food. He was very polite. There was a steady stream of customers in and out. The food was wonderful. It's the bread. I told first-timer boyf it's the bread. Fresh round slices of sourdough really make these sandwiches special. I ordered a Brownie & Strawberry Lemonade for the road. I asked the gentleman if he was the owner and he said he is one of the owners. I expressed my pleasure at having Schlotzsky's again. He told me there will be one opening in Cincy. I highly recommend if you haven't been.

OK, I don't want to come off in this review, sounding like I didn't understand the business model…read moreor proof-of-concept of Mr.Beast Burger. My children pleaded with me to order it, namely because of the assumption that their affection for this YouTube philanthropist would easily carry over into the fast food burger realm. Unfortunately, it did not. I have already read many reviews complaining that the food was cold, which I feel is a tad bit unfair considering Mr. Beast exists solely as a delivery food option. It's like 12° out, and the food is delivered almost 20 minutes away. Of course, it's going to be cold. So the luke warm to frigid temperature of my family's burgers tonight were certainly not the criteria I am using to judge. For those who are unaware, Mr.Beast Burger relies on other restauranteurs To make their food and door delivery services for the rest. In theory, it's genius. This YouTube sensation gets to label-slap his name and brand on a simple burger recipe all across the country and has built-in promotion from the 55 million followers he has online. So, if you are a Toledoan hoping to find a brick and mortar MrBeast restaurant to visit, of course, you will not find one. The delivery time for door dash was pretty decent, nearing 30 minutes. As soon as we opened the paper bag - if he came pretty evident that this online business exist in reality, only in the form of a digital recipe alongside massive rolls of MrBeast stickers given to local employees to stick on generic wrapping and generic bags to give the illusion of a franchise. Regardless, the true testament was the food. Aside from the temperature as previously mentioned, the Mr. beast burger was decently pleasant, with a mixture of Beef patties, American cheese, ketchup, mayo, pickles, and brown mustard, all rammed between soft buns. The pictures on the menu, of course look delightful. I expected the real thing to look like a squished mess, but it even looked less desirable than I imagined. Luckily, the taste of it was pretty acceptable. Scoring no higher than a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, the Beast burger was definitely appetizing, despite its poor appearance. However, that's where the niceties stop. My son had the Chris burger, which was advertised to include bacon and french fries squashed atop a burger patty. But he found the bacon to be excessively chewy and almost under cooked. His patties were thinner and were much more overcooked and tough than the beast burger. The fries were the worst. Not only did they suffer the most from the chill weather outside, making them not even remotely warm, but many of the fries seemed completely under cooked. Almost like they were slivers of frozen potato. In conclusion, if Mr. Beast Burger existed as a brick and mortar restaurant that I could visit in the summer, guaranteeing a piping hot plate that could be easily returned if undercooked, then this YouTube-turned-burger sensation would earn at least a moderately respectable review in my mind. But considering it's status as delivery-only, I highly forewarn Toledoans from rolling the dice on a risky concept that banks its success on pre-existing marketing from a world dependent on social media than on the quality of it's food and service.
