Food was great service was terrible for us. Ordered a kid's chicken and fries meal for my child. Workers never dropped the order until after I was done eating and asked twice where our kid's meal was. Manger treated other customers that were new like royalty. Stopped in here close to closing time and decided to not bother them. Manager came out to our car to encourage us to come on in and we were treated like a king and queen. So let me start off by saying the food is still fantastic the decor the ambience the whole Tony Packo's thing is. what isn't so fantastic is the attitude and friendliness of their staff.. I got there at 11:30 there were maybe I don't know 10 people in whole restaurant and the staff was so busy talking to each other about their private lives that I stood there for a while and had to ask for help twice and interrupt personal conversations and then it was kind of like okay here's your stuff goodbye. It took me two years to get here driving across country it is one of my destinations to come back to the original mainly because of the great architecture around it but hopefully now that they have other locations the staff and their other locations might be more friendly than the ones here. I did replace my old t-shirt with a klinger version and even bought cooper a shirt... The attendant in the gift store was helpful and friendly, so I'm glad 15 years later I came back to toledo.. read more

Waitressed here 50+ years ago. Food is still delicious. A little pricey. But Tuesdays the dogs are $2. Everything is very good. We're big fans of the stuffed cabbage rolls. Also get the quart of chili to keep in fridge for hotdogs & hamburgers off the grill read more

We stopped by chance and was greeted by friendly staff that offered generous samples of their chili, chicken and dumplings and fried pickles. The restaurant is clean, 5 stars service and food was delightful. We would recommend this as a stop for a quick meal. Thank you for the warm welcome ... we will be back! read more

I love the Packos express location. Quickly got two dogs and a bowl of chili in the drive through. Sure it doesn't have the atmosphere of the original location but it isn't designed for that. They give plenty of crackers for the chili, unlike other places. read more

I used to live in Toledo and was and am a big fan of the original Tony Packo's. Good, tasty, satisfying food, a little off the beaten path as far as restaurant fare goes. So when I came back to town and saw there was a Packo's drive thru resto very close to where i was staying I was looking forward to hitting that up and getting a great meal after a long drive. This just wasn't as good, I'm sorry to say. The paprikas was watery and flavorless, like something you'd get at a school cafeteria. I was disappointed and ended up tossing about half of the serving. I don't know if it's the kitchen, the people or they changed something up, but I wouldn't have believed the paprikas was from Packo's if i hadn't bought it there myself. Subsequently talked to a couple other people in the area who were unsurprised to hear my story -- apparently it's known among folks in the area that the original resto is still good but the outlets really aren't. read more

My first time here I really wanted a chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries it was so terrible the chili sauce on the fries was so runny, the fries was hard, my chili dogs was cold and the bread was hard as well and the macaroni was cold and dry I would not recommend this place at all what so ever. read more

Worst hotdogs I've ever had! I was given half slice of a hotdog on a bun with chili and cheese. The whole thing lacked flavor and looked old and discolored. The best thing I ate was the fries. Maybe it's because Im from Michigan where our coney dogs are iconic. I expected that type of flavor from these Packos dogs, but was sadly disappointed. read more

I don't understand the Packo's love. I have a feeling it's just a nostalgia thing for those from the area. I found the food bland, and incredibly expensive, especially for the taste. I didn't get the coneys, but maybe I should have. Although, I'm from Michigan and we have Koegel Viennas, and nothing is as good as our coneys, so. I got the fried pickles and the dumplings-- the dumplings were so. freaking. bland. Just a mouthful of little soggy tasteless flour lumps in a tasteless sauce. And...the price for all of it! I did get the hungarian hot dogs at House of Meats, and they were just salty smoked sausages. I just don't get any of it. read more

I'm not entirely sure what the gripes here could possibly be. This is Packo's and it's still all the classics. The dogs are perfect, the chicken paprikas is perfect, the pickles are perfect, the strudel is perfect (ask for it warm), the vibe in there is great at feeling modern but retaining the classic vibe of the restaurant. The signed buns are everywhere, stained glass lamps hang down. I love this place and if you don't...you ain't Toledo!! Bye bye! read more

I am a true fan of this place but so disappointed on my last trip. I know there are new owners and you can tell they are getting away from the classic cafe. The hot dog I swear is smaller and they barley put on much chili. Let's not discuss the stale bun. You guys can coupon all you want but don't make changes from the classic restaurant that people stood in line for. Service was average at best. Happy birthday to me!! Stopped in to the drive thru today for my free birthday loyalty bonus, and had the roast beef and mashed combo with wonderful gravy! I am so disappointed in Packo's on Secor Rd. I placed an order for Chili Mac and it was horrible. It used to be made with spaghetti and the most best tasting sauce, but now it's made with pasta shells. It was too thick and mushy and looked and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. The hot dogs were like waterlogged smoked sausage, very tasteless and bland, the chili was very thin and soupy. and to top it all off NO crackers for the chili...ran out???? Went thru drive thru first time at new location and quite a disappointment for the Packo's usual good hot dogs! There was very little sauce on hot dogs and the bowl of chile was cold! I will not be going back for more! This location really does not taste like original Tony Packo's that I am accustomed to! read more

I'm really being nice with the two stars. First of all the food looked like cafeteria food and it really should have cafeteria prices. If you don't like flavorful food you should definitely come here. My chicken was most likely boiled in water, then they added gravy to it. I feel sorry for the Hungarians, this is definitely an insult to them calling this Hungarian food. read more

Went thru the drive-thru the other day. Ordered a #2 which is a hotdog, side and drink for $7.99 I was asked if I wanted everything on the dog, mustard, etc. I said sure. I chose the dumplings as the side and root beer as a drink. What I received... hotdog with just chili sauce, a Diet Pepsi, and sample of the dumplings. Food was good and services was fast, but $8 for a hotdog a drink and a couple of spoonfuls of dumplings is to much. I don't mind waiting a little longer for an order as long as they get it right. read more

Is there a way to give less than 1 star? Do not waste your money. I had high hopes, because we like Tony Packo hot dogs. First, they cut them in half, so your order of one hot dog is 1/2 of an order. Second, their "special sauce" is horrible and did not compliment the hot dog. Third, I guess as a Texan, I should have known better than to eat their chili, but I tried it. I have been a Tony Packo's fan for all my life. However, I am not a fan of the new "European diner" feel. From being a family, sit down restaurant (which I felt had family in mind), to a fast food/take-out diner, this is a huge step in the wrong direction in my opinion. We went tonight. I ordered chicken paprikas and a cup of chicken dumpling soup. The soup had no dumplings in it. The chicken in the paprikas was extremely dry and the entire meal was lukewarm to cold. I am hoping they keep the ballpark location and the original on the east side for sake of the original Tony Packo's. read more

This is a really nice spin off of Tony Packos. The menu had a lot of the originals that all us locals love. They also had a few vegetarian items and gluten free items. So as a person who loves Packos but doesnt want to have heart surgery, and have changed my diet over the last few years, I thought that was fantastic. I ordered the veg hot dog with gluten free bun and the veg chili. They were excellent. They looked at me a little funny when I ordered them so i dont think many people order those items. And it took quite a while to get them so I guess they had to get them out of wherever and cook them. I guess you dont go to packos if your a health nut, but at least they have options now. And they were very good. They also sold jars of pickles so we had to get a large one of those. The pickles are simply the best. The decor is nice and they even have a few signed hot dog buns. It seems to be a nice more modern version. The employees are very friendly. read more

I was very disappointed in their new restaurant. We've been to their other locations many times and this just one just did not equal the quality Im used to at Tony Packos. First of all, I was very surprised to see all the food was on a steam table. We ordered the chicken paprikash because we had received a coupon in the mail for a free chicken paprikash dinner and even though it looked unappetizing on the steam table, I decided to order it anyway (hey it was free) . Bad mistake. I should have listened to my intuition. It looked like they just cooked the chicken separate and then poured the sauce over the chicken, rather than cooked the chicken IN THE SAUCE as is traditionally done with paprikash. The chicken looked pale and white and the sauce was a pale red color. It didnt even look good at all. It was not a rich, creamy sauce like Im used to with paprikash, but thin and bland. The chicken was dry and no amount of bland sauce could make it taste good. The noodles were just mushy, bland noodles covered with the bland sauce. I ate it because I was hungry, but I did not like it at all and neither did my husband. I would never order it again. I really didnt like the atmosphere its too modern and bright, not homey and warm like their other locations. This location is the very closest to my home, but I probably wont go there again. Next time well go back to the origianal location on Front street or the one on Monroe street where the food is much better. At this rate Im not sure if theyll stay ope at this new location, the food was that bad read more
