Cozy restaurant with an old world vibe. Lots of decoration to look at. We ordered the combo and veal paprikas. Should have probably shared a plate! Servings were copious and filling. Everything we tasted was good. The bread was good and served with real butter. Wear your stretchy pants or be prepped to take home a to go box.

Our 1st time here. Great service by Mara! I had the Hungarian Goulash which was like a stew consisting of Very tender beef , vegetables , potatoes, dumplings and delish broth. Served in a stainless steel pot with a flaming ember of wood underneath to keep it hot! Nice presentation. It was served with a nice salad, rich dressing and when I thought I was done I got two apricot crepes about 8 inches long. We shared with other guest and they all loved it a sampling of the goulash. Yes they used their own spoons. The wife tried the Breaded shrimp. They were large and delicious. Ooooh will be back

Empty at dinner time.'it used to be crowded

Service-5 stars. Everything else negative 10 stars. We loved this place. It's not the same as it used to be. The food we ordered was cold. The chicken which should have been crispy if fresh, was rubbery and cold. Same with the food my husband got. Vegetables were frozen kind, heated to mush. We both think we were served leftover funeral food. Which is really gross considering my husband found extra restaurant chairs stacked next to the urinals in the men's room. (Think about this-so gross) The picture of the seat says it all. They just don't care anymore. Never saw it this empty on a typically busy day and time.

Excellent clam chowder. Not a cream base, but very flavorful with tons of clams.

I was downriver for a show, and needed to stop for dinner beforehand. I've had Hungarian Rhapsody in my bookmarks for a while, so it was my choice. It's an old school place inside, kind of like stepping back in time with Hungarian music playing under the chandeliers. Service was awesome and very attentive. I started with clam chowder, that was broth-based rather than cream, with loads of clams and bacon, and absolutely delicious. I decided on the chicken paprikas, and swapped for the cucumber salad with sour cream. That was really good, and worth the upcharge. The paprikas was a large portion with 3 pieces of bone-in chicken. It was also delicious, and I have to say I couldn't finish it after the soup and salad. They have a good selection on the menu, and daily specials. If you're looking for Hungarian food or just something different and hearty, give it a try!

Stepping back in time here! Great Hungarian menu, the breaded pork chop is amazing as well as the goulash! Homemade Hungarian desserts too!

Excellent meal. We both enjoyed the Hungarian Combination Plate. Attentive service from our server Jaxon. We will definitely be back.

They serve dinner on Friday nights and the food is very good. Everything is fresh because they do not serve dinner the rest of the week, so you know that whatever you are getting is top quality and freshly made. I have had their venison dinner, which is excellent, their roasted chicken, which is surprisingly delicious for how simply it is prepared and I love their specials. The prices are great and a whole family can have an amazing, delicious meal at about half the price of a comparable meal at the next closest Hungarian restaurant. Another great thing about this place is that they actually try to teach others about their culture as opposed to just being a cultural center for tax benefits. They offer Hungarian dance classes for children that are so unique and well taught that I am happy I can bring my daughter, even though it is a long way from my house. Although I do not speak Hungarian, nobody has made me feel out of place and since my daughter has Hungarian heritage from her father's side, I appreciate that she is able to experience and explore this lovely culture through their cultural center and their activities.

I was looking for a nice sit down restaurant that can allow me to be present and enjoy the quiet ambiance as opposed to chitter/chatter and general noise. I read that reservations are needed. I called Tuesday night and asked if I can get a table w/o one. The gentleman that took the call was very polite and said I can absolutely come in. This was pretty much next to the bookstore I went to on Monday. I didn't even know because I was too wrapped up in the book that I just purchased. I rarely do things like this because I feel guilty for enjoying myself on a work trip. That I away from my kids and my cats. I was seated right away. Service was spectacular. I did not get his name. I enjoyed our exchange. He shared that he lived in San Diego before moving back and checked on me throughout my dining experience. I ordered the kielbasa from the appetizer menu. The grilled onions, pickles, fresh carrots and purple cabbage, especially the mustard made the kielbasa so succulent and savory. I have been craving for pierogi so that was what I ordered as my main entree. I had one of each flavor that they offer. It was a surprise w/ each bite because I did not know which was which. I was surprised I didn't devour the plate. My entree came w/ a fresh salad w/ house made ranch and house made roll (dense but airy!). After I ordered, I marveled at the decor. That rustic and historic vibe. There was a frame that holds music notes from Mozart and a piano to my left. I love how serene and intimate this restaurant was. I only took my phone out to take pictures of my food because I wanted to enjoy the solitude I seldom get to have. Come here! Take yourself out! You deserve it. Great food. Great atmosphere.
