He was HALF the cost of anyone else. Restoration Hardware uses a team that charges SO much more. He was super easy to communicate with via text, with a copy of the conversation in the Yelp app. My friend asked me how I could trust someone randomly to pick up and deliver my couch, but I did & it really worked out. I had booked a move with Cesar and Maria. I texted Maria 24 hours before the move to confirm that the movers were coming. She then notified me that she would need to charge me an extra hour of labor before and an extra hour after my move, which would increase the price: baseline was $90 per hour for two guys -- so this is an increase of $180 on a move quoted at $300 total. This is the oldest trick in the book -- they're trying to extort more money out of me with short notice, hoping I won't care or can't find another option. I immediately canceled and replaced their service with someone who sticks by their quoted price. You can see the screengrab here of their scammy price tactics. Avoid these guys.

Dejan was straight-forward about his pricing as well as his teams availability to help us move. It was a no-brainer to move forward with him. His team of 3 movers showed up on-time, and got to work immediately in assessing all of our belongings, what needed extra care and wrapping, and what can be loaded onto the truck already. (My fiance and I have had to move more than we'd like to, and had already packed up all small items/clothing/etc...). The team of movers were awesome. They were so friendly, noticed we were into hiking and talked with us about trips we've taken, as well as local trails we've hiked. They loaded all our things up, drove up to our new place, and immediately began to unload and move things into the rooms that we had labeled the boxes of, or where we asked them to. They set up our bed for us, put together pieces of furniture they had taken apart, and cleaned up after themselves. If we ever need to make a big move again, we will be reaching out to Value Movers. We also can't recommend them enough to friends and family in and around Astoria. Word of the wise: they do not accept personal checks. One of the men dropped one of my boxes and refused to let me inspect the contents stating "it's ok" When these belongings eventually get to my new house I won't sign off until I have opened every single box and inspected every single item, so I hope they expect to spend 12 hours with me, because I have a feeling they broke alot of valuable items.
