TL;DR: Movers rushed through the job and left boxes in wrong places of the house and left without…read moreassembling a bed. Not the kind of service I was expecting after dropping $2k after tip. I hired My Real Move for a local 20mile move within NJ for a single family house. These guys found me on Thumbtack and were very responsive during the booking process and answered all my questions. I had to list my entire inventory manifest, down to boxes and lamps, etc and was charged accordingly based on assumed cubic sq ft required, but in hindsight, felt totally unnecessary as the movers clearly didn't stick to this list and were moving everything in sight, including things we didn't want or expect, and left things behind that were included in the inventory. They showed up 45min late (which was only communicated after the scheduled start time via email) and completed the job in under 6 hours. They were definitely fast, but the entire move process felt chaotic and rushed. My husband and I have a newborn and couldn't keep as close of an eye on the move as we would have liked. Ultimately, while fast, they rushed the job and left boxes in wrong areas of the house (I.e, bedroom boxes were left downstairs, etc) and left a daybed disassembled that we now have to take care of ourselves. We didn't realize any of this until after they had already packed up and left unfortunately. Three stars for the fact that the movers were nice and hard working, and the ease of booking the job. However, for the amount of money I spent, this job left me disappointed.

I would recommend that you stay away from this moving company, today was the most stressful move…read moreI've ever had no thanks to them. We received a quote prior to booking and you would expect to pay the price quoted, but not with the individuals we worked with today! It was a man with long hair and glasses, when I started the day he states there was no boxes on the list, I understand that if there was a mistake. But if you are a moving company I'm pretty sure you're paid to haul boxes. He stated that he's not taking it, unless I make a deal with him. On the spot he said $200 for 8 boxes and he only takes 20% tip. I was confused how he came up with the number, he did not speak to a higher up or anything. Claimed that we would be on our own if we didn't give him the money + the tip he enforced. He managed to take the money and continued to high five me and attempt to hug me without a mask being on. I knew it was suspicious cause the minute he took the money, he split it with his buddy. No boss or anyone approved of it. I attempted to call the company for Alexandra who gave me the quote, but he got upset and kept deviating my conversations whenever I was on the phone with someone else. I tried talking to the boss, Ved when he dialed him but they spoke themselves without letting me speak. Disgusting behavior from a grown man. Later on at the actual move they attempted to take more money from my girlfriend just for moving it in their truck. I called her to ask why they were demanding $200 from a trip from Jersey City to Hackensack which is a 28 min drive. My girlfriend decided to call her older sister who was helping us with the move. Then she said she would deal with it, and they said they would not reassemble any of the furniture since we were not giving them money. Even though it was guaranteed to be reassembled. We ended it up reassembling it ourselves. Overall would not recommend this company or at least the two guys who work there cause a move within New Jersey came out to almost a grand! Stay away especially if you get the man with the long hair and glasses! They don't follow Covid regulations and work without a mask!

We booked their…read morefull pack-move-unpack service (including junk removal), and from start to finish they delivered exactly what they promised--no surprises, no hidden charges. They came out right away to give us an all-inclusive estimate, and the number they quoted is exactly what we paid. That level of honesty and transparency is rare, especially when other companies nickel-and-dime you for every little thing. What really stood out is their attitude--every request we had was met with "don't worry, we'll take care of it," and they genuinely did. The 7-person crew worked three full days, packing every single item (including fragile pieces) with incredible care, disassembling and reassembling furniture, and maneuvering large heavy items without leaving a single scratch. They supplied all the packing materials and truly went above and beyond to get everything done. We had dreaded this move for weeks, but Slick made the whole process smooth, professional, and surprisingly stress-free. I wouldn't even consider another company after this experience. If you want movers who are skilled, reliable, and genuinely care about the details, call Slick.

Which I thought was fair (2-3miles travel) and we went about our purchase and loaded up the truck. But once we got home he decided the work to too much for him and his wife(partner) to carry and he needed to call for additional help. At the end we were left with the option of leaving it outside the house or paying an extra $200 for more help to come. All in all it costed me $340 to move one fridge and remove one fridge and I had to help a little bit. Don't feel like I got a deal at all since most places offer the same service for $50 if you buy direct. The company is most likely better for bigger moves.

But they still came one hour early so I was able to do the move really fast. They also worked really fast and nothing was damaged. Even before moving day they were good at communicating which was a good sign. On the day of the move it only took 2 hours from start to finish. I did have elevators in both buildings though. I was happy with the service I gave them a good tip. Total moving costs from studio to another studio with very minimal furniture (bed frame, mattress, desk, chair, guitar) cost me $365. Really good prices for a Manhattan move. Other places were saying they'll charge me $500, even $700. I'm really happy with the service and would recommend it.

The landlord threatened to call the police on them at one point. Only one of the four movers was consistently working the whole time and they had him sitting in the van for half the move trying to avoid a ticket (why they didn't have the way-too-old mover doing this instead is beyond me). The foreman was constantly on the phone with his boss complaining instead of working. Rushed to get boxes into the correct rooms because one of the movers had a second job (non-moving related) to get to and the foreman wanted to get back to his wife. I was offered a paltry partial refund for the experience and billed for all of the extra time.
