Disappointing. We live in Arkansas and Branson has been my second home for over 20 years. Starvin Marvin's has been the key reason we remained loyal customers. But that's not the case anymore. The buffet is underwhelming. Catfish, crawfish, corn, shrimp, & chicken. It's not the cream of the crop to say the least. Our main reason for eating there has been for the crab legs. For YEARS the service, buffet, crab, all has been excellent, but within the last 3 years, it has turned to garbage. Service used to be excellent, (drinks always full, buffet hot & fresh, crab always stocked). But now it takes a bat out of (h e double L) to get any kind of service, constantly having to waive the server down for drink refills, paper towels, condiments, crab, but when it comes to handing us the check and never returning for any further refills, it takes them 10 seconds to come running. They are WAY over priced. I understand prices change in time and with the economy, but for the quality of the place, $19.99 for a regular buffet and $38.99 for crab is OUTRAGEOUS. As well as $.2.79 for a drink (mind you that's typical pricing. We had 4 adults (3 with crab), 1 child, and 2 drinks and our ticket was almost $165.00. Today was the last day I will EVER be returning to Starvin Marvins, I have tried to give the small business as much of my money as possible, but if it costs my fiancé and I $100 to eat in one setting, we can find something much better to eat. read more

I used to bring my mother here every year. We would look forward to coming in for the all you can eat crab legs for $39. This year we find out crab legs are not included in the buffet any more. They're $12.00 per pound. The buffet is $25 each. I usually had about 4-5 pounds of crab legs. Not coming back! Not worth the cost now. The buffet is pretty bland. The only good items on it are the crawfish and the coconut shrimp. The buffet is worth $15 not $25. Overpriced. Shame. What happened? read more

Maybe don't have the hot food buffet open if business is slow. The salad bar was ok, but the hot food had been sitting a LONG time. The rolls were hard as rocks. I asked the waitress if there would be more, so she went back in the kitchen to check. She brought out 2 rolls on a plate. At first I thought she was bringing me fresh rolls. Then she set the plate in front of me. They looked like she had squirted butter from a squeeze bottle on them. She said maybe the butter would help soften them up. She then told me she knew I probably wouldn't be happy with them. I told her she should not serve that to customers. She got mad and walked off. We had the fish tacos and they were ok. The fish tasted good but was dragged down with the lettuce and boring sauce. Cabbage with a tangy chipotle sauce would have really brought this dish home. Ate here while on vacation with my husband and our 2 toddlers. My husband had the country fried steaks and it was breaded and seasoned great. My 3 year old had the kids breaded shrimp and ate almost every bite. I tried a bite of his shrimp and it was very good. My 1 year old had the kids fish. I did not try it, but my husband did and said it the breading on it was also very good. I had a grilled shrimp po boy and wish I had gotten the breaded shrimp on it. It tasted a little bland and the remoulade sauce was not spicy or have a ton of flavor. Overall we thought it was great and will definitely be back if we visit the area again! read more

This was probably the worst buffet I have ever ate. For starters the plates at the buffet line where dirty. When it came to the food I was extremely disappointed. Stopped at Starvin Marvin's on the way back to the hotel, simply because of the name (Southpark fans). We have Louisiana roots so we have fairly high expectations of seafood & spice. They call it Starvin' Marvin's because you leave the same way you came in...starving! We had to reorder multiple times because the kitchen kept running out of food. We were made to feel guilty because we didn't order the buffet which we saw multiple people unhygenicaly serving themselves. Once we finally received our food, it was absolutely atrocious! Our waitress went from being super sweet to all of a sudden being inconvenienced by our simple requests like requesting ketchup.
