Went here on the 4th of July...been here before on this exact day in the past. Everything was beyond horrible on this visit. Is it busy? Sure...but they have been on the Landing for years. They have big corporate resources and training plans. Everything was various levels of horrid. - Had our reservation since Feb or March. Confirmed 4 times and as late as the day before. Our table outside was given away. And we even had a large group - money was getting dropped by our group. Our group had to split up n multiple tables. - Service was a level that's less than amateur. Why? Our table orders first/before the others in our group. Our food however, comes out (after) everyone else's food came out and they were nearly done eating. - Quality is not there on the night. . Now, given the debacle with our particular table reservation....and my wife, though always will be professional and never some unreasonable person....she will be articulate in questioning how this all occurred with reservation. So, given the table (she) is at, that has the food so il-timed in coming to that table of all tables....its hard to (not) believe this was all intentional by staff. It's too coincidental and too mistimed for so long....on a place offering basically a homogenous product to every table...that the error was resolved very expeditiously. . Hey, I hope the store mgr/owner reads this review and provides us all a reply. Oh, they'll try and spin my experience. But there is no spinning and we deserve every cent back we paid. How embarrassing we didn't have our outside table for our group - and we're the host couple for our group. We meticulously plan so things are nice for others. You'd think after you screwed up our groups reservation....our table would have had an elevated level of service. Oh no, the night only got worse. It was just as i remembered it being, just in Missouri, waiter was nice and attentive, atmosphere is the same as it has been for years, lots of things on the walls, gift shop, located on the river so the views were good for a lot of the tables, the Cajun boil was great, crab and shrimp dip was good. Coconut shrimp was decent but all the others were way better lots of happy families, eating and walking the river. read more

This was my first time visiting a Joe's Crab Shack. Although we did not have a reservation, we only waited about ten minutes for a table during the dinner rush. Our server was friendly even though she stayed on the move between tables. The crab and shrimp dip appetizer was very good, and my husband and I both had the East Coast platter. It came with a crab cake, bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp, popcorn shrimp, fried fish filet, and fries. The crab cake was mostly crab meat with very little filler and it was really good. The popcorn shrimp was okay, the wrapped and stuffed shrimp was actually a little too bacon-y for my taste, but the star of the show was the fried fish. It was lightly battered and fried and had great flavor. The tartar sauce that accompanied it was flavorful, too. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was a bit loud, but other than that we had a great experience at Joe's. If you are in the area, give them a try. read more

Fast, friendly service. Our server kept refills going and checked on us often. Quick check service as well. We had a nice view of the river from our table. Clam chowder was pretty good but light on the clams. Shrimp Platters were both pretty good. Some of the fried shrimp were over-cooked. Portion sizes were good. It was a nice lunch. We haven't been to this location yet. We are here now, and it was pretty good. There are a lot of options for your seafood endeavors! You are eating in Branson, I will add that the sales taxes are steep. Just to let you all know.. most of Branson has steep tourist sales taxes included in the food and tourist stops. The strip and downtown is full of people, and is very touristy. You will have to park and walk to Joes. However, we got full and did enjoy the seafood dishes.. I suggest the Daddy King Crab selection. All in all, the shrimp platter was tasty.. my daughter enjoyed it. Be sure to tip your table staff.. enjoy your Branson trip!! read more

We haven't been to a Joes Crab Shack in about 10-15 years, and it may be longer until we go back, my husband had the shrimp sampler, I think it was called, three types of shrimp: the blackened shrimp he said was dry and rubbery and the rice underneath was dry to, the butterflied shrimp in a light tempura batter he said was good, but one of them still had the sand vein in it, but our lovely waitress brought him another 1/2 dozen; the third shrimp was deep fried and well not overcooked wasn't memorable. I had the not Joe's Mama Chicken: why chicken in a seafood restaurant, I'm allergic to shellfish, so that lets out shrimp, crab, lobster, so chicken it was. It sounded delightful, chicken breast topped with spinach mushrooms and cheese served with fresh vegetables ( green beans) and mashed potatoes. Whoever seasoned the food had a very heavy hand with the seasoning, lots of water to stop my burning mouth. I am not sure if the chicken dish was supposed to be swimming in a red oily substance, I finally put the green beans on a paper towel and blotted the grease off them and some of the seasoning, they were very good, crispy and fresh. Our waitress was attentive, bringing us extra water to drink, extra lemons for my husbands shrimp, and making note of my shrimp allergy so that they wouldn't grill my chicken on the same grill as the shrimp. Joe's Crab Shack is now added to one of my favorite restaurants list. I literally think about this day and it makes me want to take another trip to Branson. Everything we had was amazing. Everything was flavorful and was the right temperature. The hush puppies were the best I've had so far anywhere. The Atlantic Steam pot with Cajun seasoning was scrumptious. Not too spicy just right. The calamari was delicious as well, not over cooked nor chewy and the sauce was delicious. The coconut shrimp breading was not overly fried, it was very flavorful and even better with the dipping sauce. Our waitress Melva was great. She was supper attentive and cheery. Youngest wanted to go to SDC and then come here for his birthday. You can't compare this to restaurants along the ocean, but for being in the muddle of the country, it was good. My youngest and I got the East Coast platter. Those bacon wrapped, stuffed shrimp were the highlight of the platter. The stuffed crab (cran cakes) was really good for nowhere near the shoreline. The fish is nice and flaky and just enough batter to give it a crunch but not overtake the fish. Popcorn shrimp was meh, and the fries were just fries. My wife got coconut shrimp and loved them. She said the pineapple plum sauce was sweet, creamy, and oh so good. The oldest got chicken Alfredo and said it was very good. We were told seating for 2 would be 10 minutes even though it had empty tables throughout so we agreed to wait. 20 minutes later we had to ask and then we were seated fairly quickly. Server acted mad that she got another table (an hour before close). Ordered boiled shrimp (Cajun/hot), potatoes and corn with a side of sausage ($4 al a carte). I waited forever for gloves due to a few cuts on my fingers from weeding my yard earlier that week. Shrimp was super bland, potatoes were cut into wedges but still undercooked and corn, while sweet and delicious, was not cut in half as my husband's was & my husband didn't get his sausage on the side- had to ask for it and wait. Server said she would bring a knife but never did. Asked for hot sauce, never got it. My husband requested 2nd draft beer but was finished with his meal before that came. We were seated in a full section that cleared out before we got our food and the server literally swept the floor in the section even around us until I asked her to stop as we were still eating- she seemed confused- as if unaware that dust and old skin cells fly up when they are swept.
