I don't give a lot of 5s, but in this case, Stardust deserves a 5 star rating. I have eaten here before and have been very happy with the food and especially the service. After being told by a different establishment they could not take my order, I went to Stardust at their busiest time of evening. I grabbed a seat at the counter and was immediately greeted by a cheerful staff member. This diner is basically staffed by teens and they work together like a well oiled machine. Dinners were flying out of the kitchen and these kids were putting the finishing touches on the meals and carrying 4 and 5 dishes at a time without missing a beat. I had a hand made chocolate shake and a patty melt with fries. The shake was out of this world with a big helping of whipped cream and a cherry on top. Their shakes come on a nice glass coated with an extra squirt of chocolate sauce and the leftovers come in the original metal container. The patty melt was above average and the fries were satisfying. All and all great meal in a bustling diner. They serve all day. read more

Very impressed with the food at this 50's style diner. I had breakfast with my friend twice here. Bacon is excellent!!! Thick cut, not too salty, and delicious. All food was well prepared and delicious. My friend had the Monte Cristo special ($6.99) and then pulled pork benedict special. I went for the standard bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. Service was very good. We had the same waitress both times, whose name I have forgotten but she has dark hair and indian earrings. Everything about this diner is amazing. I love the corned beef hash, steak skillet, cadillac meatloaf, and the garlic bread especially. Cheap but absolutely delicious. Well, I am embarrassed to admit that I had a great meal here, so did my better half, and I even played Leslie Gore's "You Don't Own Me" on the juke box. The food was so good that I stuffed myself, just a terrible idea, but I did it. I also ordered a coffee shake and they made it the way it was done in the Middle Ages, with instant, and it was fantastic. They split it into two small shakes, one for me, and one for the better. Who needs syrups and such? "Yea, verily, yea," and so on. The only reason I didn't add a fifth star is that Stardust isn't a restaurant I admit going to. I went here for dinner, and had high expectations. Despite the kitschy and cute decor/theme of the restaurant, the food was less than impressive. Im assuming the rave reviews are from people who are feeling nostalgic and don't get me wrong, the vibes from here are fun. The waitress was very nice and attentive, but again the food didn't live up to what I'd thought it'd be. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of cornbread and green beans. The steak tasted like a fried hamburger but it was bland, the green beans were ice cold and the corn bread was dried out. My s/o ordered a meat skillet from the breakfast menu, which was better than mine. It had tons of seasoning and a smoky flavor. Perhaps I just went on an off day, and had my hopes up. I can't believe I've lived here for a decade and never tried this diner. Popular on the weekends, get ready to be transported to another era of booths, jukeboxes, and colorful menus. Went on Friday night. Place was packed with old timers. Food was sub par. I had the prime rib, mashed and corn. Prime rib was semi warm. Corn was frozen, heated up to warm. Mashed potatoes and gravy was the best thing on the plate. Girlfriend had the meatloaf, mashed and corn. She said a lot of filler in the meatloaf and fairly raw uncooked mushrooms on it. I was not happy neither was the girlfriend. But they pack in the old timers, so I don't think they care. I will go one more time, as it's near my house, and try the breakfast. Always a good time at Stardust with the boys. They've got something for everyone and the prices and food quality can't be beat. Plus,they have the best traditional french toast in the area! On average, the meals are $10 and the beverages come with free refills. Woot woot! The place is usually slammed but on this Tuesday morning, we were able to get in right away. Quick and friendly service had our food to the table quick. They always give a ton of food so even after sharing our orders,we still had a full meal left to take home. The boys love the Belgian waffles and chocolate pancakes. I am a fan of the steak skillet. They have thick bacon and a pretty good cup of coffee. 4 meals, 2 sodas, 1 coffee, an orange juice, side of french toast, and side of hash browns was $55 plus tip. Wish I remembered my coupon for $4 off but not a big deal. I highly recommend them for breakfast. Wish they had mimosa's. read more

Love this place! The environment and vibe here is incredible. It feels just like sitting in a classic diner, with signs from 50's America scattered everywhere, jukeboxes at all booths, and a well dressed and friendly staff. I only mark down a star for the subpar quality of some of the dishes. The french dip is incredible, but everything else i've tried has had a weird texture or taste. The Stardust Diner has amazing food served in generous portions. I gave a five-star review not only for the quality food, but also the amazing service. Management has built a great team of servers that all work together to ensure that every table is served throughout your stay. This was my second visit and the results were the same. I have tried the fish and chips that was large potions of thick halibut with fries and coleslaw. This time I tried the turkey dinner with dressing, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, cranberries, and a salad. The prices are low and you get your money's worth. I went here on a Saturday morning and the wait for a table for 2 was about 30 minutes. Once we were seated, we had excellent service from our waiter. I ordered banana pancakes, egg whites and a side of biscuits and gravy. The side of biscuits and gravy was huge and only $2.99! However, I didn't think the biscuits tasted good... they were dry even though they were covered in gravy. The banana pancakes were delicious! Went to Portland recently and we wanted "real food" not fast food. This classic diner really lives up to that title! Super friendly staff seated us quickly, got us drinks and was diligent while not being fake or overbearing. The food was wonderful. All of us had delicious food! Chicken fried steak with cream gravy was to die for! The kiddos ordered steaks with garlic mashed potatoes and they were cooked perfectly to order! I'm sorry but the last time I visited Stardust diner was during the pandemic time. The food has always been reasonable. My recent experience was not so good. We ordered out for our guest who were in town. I feel like the food really went down hill and everything was so processed and simply something I could of made at home. Ingredients were horrible. From the mashed potatoes to the cornbread. It was solid like a rock. Burger combos were weirdly put together and tastes horrible. Did they change owners? I don't think I'll be going back again.
