Ben at the front counter is a loud and rude customer service representative. My card declined and I think everyone in the store heard him say that my card was declined. Unnecessary. BTW- it was declined because of fraud activity and BofA is sending a new card. I just forgot. Not one word of please or thank you- basically "here's your stuff- now go" from Ben- he needs a break from the front counter- a time out, if you will, until his attitude improves. Having been a Starbucks partner myself, I always have a higher expectation than most people when entering. This store was the most disappointing by far. Out of the 7-8 partners that were working, not 1 gave me or my friend a genuine connection. We even stood directly in front of the bar (with a sign) and both baristas never attempted to even make eye contact. I explained to my friend that when I was with SB (2 years ago) that we were required to make connections & have conversations even while busy making drinks. I also recognized this was happening with all the customers. Very disappointing. My daughter is a ASM in Honolulu for SB & we constantly talk about their mission and how so many stores fall short meeting their "3rd place" status. When this Starbucks first opened you were guaranteed to spend a lot of time in their drive thru. They got better though. This place is always consistent in their coffee and they always have a great attitude. Most recently I had my yearly pumpkin spice Frappuccino and it was perfect. Usually I get teas and again they do them just right. The store is always clean. The people are always friendly. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars, is that they have the worst drive thru ever. Getting in here is a nightmare. It is a better idea just to walk in. read more

X so I go through the drive-through helps me find a drink I get up to the window and I give her a $20 bill. My total is $15.70. She proceeds to give me my change in quarters and tells me that she has no one dollar bills. I am not happy I do not want my change in quarters I expected her to at least say hey, do you have exact change? I am out of ones I would've gladly given her $20.70 to get a five dollar bill back instead of four dollars in fucking quarters. not only that I didn't get a sleeve for my steaming hot coffee that is now burning my hand. Every time I grab it to take a drink every time I come to this location it's always something and I'm getting really tired of it I'm probably not gonna come back to this one and just stick to the one that I always go to that treats me nicely with respect knows me and makes my drink correctly and gives me change the right way instead of in Quarters, do you mean to tell me that a busy ass coffee place like this has no dollar bills? I doubt it Absolutely ridiculous. And I will be telling my 35,000 followers on Instagram about my experience at this location. Lovely new Starbucks close to the freeway on 40th in Yakima. Definitely goes along with their current trends towards everything being drive-through. The inside is spacious and very open. Good spot for meeting, hanging out or just caffeinating. They are still working out many of the kinks, as the place has been very slow during the initial start up. As Starbucks go though, My guess is that they will eventually get their stuff together and it will become a caffeinating machine like most of them. The barista's were all exceptionally friendly and the place has a really nice vibe to it. It's like most other Starbucks, and in all likelihood you'll probably stop here at some point in the near future. read more

I've been using this Starbucks consistently for the past couple of months and just like a customer who becomes a regular at a lot of places, the staff gets to know you. Each time I've been the staff as a whole have been very nice, service is generally prompt and staff bring our little bites and offer to get water for customers who are sitting in the store. Obviously there are Starbucks all over the place so I feel safe to say that this level of service makes this location stand out. To top it off as I was waiting in line, one of the employees who was working the window saw me in line and knows my order which is a VERY complicated cup of dark roast coffee (lol) went out of her way to get my order ready before i even got to the register :) thank you for going out of your way to do that. Great job to the staff at this Starbucks, you all do your job well and with a smile. read more

Slow, cafe dirty. simple order, nobody in the cafe. priority is the drive thru. definitely not the person in front of them. literally just ordered a cold brew with cream. nothing else, 15 minutes. and the place was trashed! felt like asking for my $1.00 tip back. Won't be back. read more

Actually my least favorite branch, my order has been messed up here one time too many and the staff has a unique "attitude" about them that I have not received from other branches in Yakima. While the drink was good, my order was not correct. I'd ordered a Chestnut Praline Frappucino, and simply got the same flavour but as iced coffee. Good flavour, but not what was ordered. Service was prompt and friendly, though. So there's that as a plus, at least. read more

I've been to quite a few Starbucks in the area, and I like this one best. The baristas are swift and so welcoming. Never encountered a rude barista here! My drinks are always, ALWAYS delicious.
