Okay listen... if a coffee shop makes me come back the very next day, you already know it's doing something right. Mac Daddy's Coffee House absolutely delivered. The honey latte (made with local honey ) was so good--smooth, not overly sweet, and perfect for someone like me who doesn't love that artificial sugar taste in coffee. Then we tried the Bourbon Views and WOW. Such a fun signature drink. You really get that bourbon flavor, but it's still super balanced--not overpowering, just really well done. Also, can we talk about the space? The interior has these really cool historical photos of the building, which made it feel meaningful and rooted--not just another trendy coffee shop. And the front deck? Chef's kiss. You can sit in the sun or shade, which is ideal. 10/10 would come back again (and clearly already did ). read more

We spent over a week in Yakima, and I'm so glad we discovered Mak Daddy coffee on our first day. Not only is the coffee excellent and the food a treat too, but I saw so many interesting things while spending time there. Thanks to a reliable wi-fi connection and a cool and comfortable downstairs room, I spent a few days working from Mak Daddy's. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the space worked out very nicely whether I was in a meeting, focusing on writing up some new marketing copy, or just relaxing. Here's just a few of the other things that happened while I was hanging out there: music lessons, study sessions, a first date, career counseling, a job interview, portable chess games and a couple building a tiny model of a coffee shop (very meta). I have a feeling that if you hang out long enough here, you could see just about anything. Mak Daddy is a great stop if you're just looking for an excellent cup of coffee - you're sure to find that here. But if you have the time, hang out for a while. One sip everybody knows the rules 6.2, the service was friendly and she helped me fill my thermos with water so it was ok, the interior had outlets but the coffee tasted OFf. The Carmel latte arrived quick but it had an either over roasted, or was some weird free range, cage free, hippy dippy low carbon emission single origin ranch where the coffee bean had finger painting classes and lived cage free coffee single source that isnt Colombian or didn't use normal roasted good beans as it had a sour taste. The Carmel of my latte was very weak and if you had told me it was a vanilla latte I would believe it. The music was not my jam, some kind of "please punch me in the face" emo music and you gotta love the decor value add of Yakistan druggies and homeless munging by the window every 9 minutes. There was plenty of parking so that doesn't hurt the score, the main item is the coffee was just not for me. Won't be back and found the coffee at the wrays grocery store was so good, not sure who they use but it was probably an 8.7. It just proves my score isn't one item kills you it's an ensemble of service, selection, sip and stuff that begins with an s I guess. read more

Very interesting coffee shop in Yakima - there is ample seating in the ground level and basement level, where you can enjoy your drinks, or you can also get it to-go. What's interesting is the basement level has wheel designed tables as an additional flair to the ambience. We tried the 12 oz of Yukon Joe (bourbon + maple latte) and the seasonal specialty Someone's Salty (peanut butter, salted caramel, cream). The drinks are pretty solid though beckons for a bit more presentation, but they were pretty tasty. I doubt the Yukon Joe had sizable amounts of alcohol so we didn't get ID'ed, or maybe it's flavor, as I didn't really sense it's spiked (otherwise the cost is amazing). We two stopped in for coffee after lunch. COFFEE: 4.0. Americano and a decaf latte (almond milk). Solid. Note that the smallest size is 12 oz. SERVICE: 4.0. Prompt and friendly, and constantly at work keeping the place clean and supplied. AMBIANCE: 4.5. Old brick building on corner. Street level is high-ceilinged (press tinned ceiling) with floor-to-ceiling windows facing both streets, and has tall tables lining the windows, as well as 4 low "comfy" padded chairs around a low table away from the window. Downstairs is low-ceilinged and cozy with four-chair regular tables; downstairs is where students seem to study together and regulars meet to talk. Free Wi-Fi. Pastry selection slim (with no pain au chocolat), so we just had coffee. Lunch and breakfast items available. read more

Home made chai. That's what I look for in a coffee shop. The staff was friendly and atmosphere pleasant. I stopped in to see what kind of chai they serve and to make sure it was not a powder product. To my surprise I learned they make their own in house chai. It was very good. I was hoping for a bit more spice but at least it was not too sweet. This shop, located a few doors down from crafted is a perfect addition to this block! Super cool little shop that has taken advantage of a great space. Be it an early morning wake up or a late night study spot, I'm already planning my next trip here! Recently, they've been a hit at the farmers market and took the plunge to open a store front. The name is a combo of first letter of their daughter's names - this made it much more meaningful, at least in my mind! The physical layout is excellent! There's lots of room to spread out with a variety of seating options from counter height tables to couches and plenty of seating downstairs! The downstairs tables incorporate some cool wheel/spokes that are different enough to be fun, but not so much that they're trying too hard! They've also got some games for when the kiddos come with! They serve locally roasted coffee, espresso, Italian sodas, Red Bull drinks, etc - the pour over was quite good and when you're dining in, they bring it to you on a lovely wooden platter - very nice touch! They serve plenty of other little treats from vendors in the valley, ranging from chocolate shops in Prosser to gluten free options from bakeries in town. We'll be watching to see what other options pop up as they've got a great focus on local artisans. The baristas are all very helpful and for everything done in a very timely fashion. This place is an absolute must for anyone who loves caffeine... and even if you don't, you'll still find something you like! Come to caffeinate, study, digest, chat, relax, court, or just chill. Driving by on the way to another coffee place and noticed this cool looking dark building with the name of Mak Daddy coffee on it. Had to stop and try. I just stopped in for a regular drip and a latte for the wife. Mark, the owner, asked me if I wanted something out of the ordinary. A bourbon infused coffee latte, hot damn. It was definitely different than other lattes that I have had, but it was damn good and wished he had a shop near me. What impressed me the most was the actual 21-day bourbon infused coffee beans. I regrettably only bought one bag and unfortunately they are not selling them online at this time. I was in Yakima for 30 days and found my go to coffee place at Mak Daddy Coffee. The staff has been welcoming every time I came in the morning. They took their time to get to know me and it was always a great way to start off my mornings. I'm truly going to miss it here. They will be the first place I visit if I'm ever back in town. It's a little strange to read some reviews stating to be aware if you are a person of color, well I am definitely a person of color and definitely did not feel anything like that. Walk right past this place...it'll be the best thing you do today. The coffee was okay, not great, not terrible, but that can be said about my good friend Mr.Coffee. The "barista" was mildly friendly, but for some reason she must have thought I requested a coffee and a side of Covid as she wore her face mask incorrectly out of spite as the mask adorned the slogan "this mask is as useless as our governor". The baristas are not friendly and on several occasions have been rude and scolded me about asking for a little more chocolate in my drink. If they could learn to make the drinks correctly, that wouldn't be a problem. When you are paying $6 for a coffee drink, it is expected it be to your liking.
