The coffee here is amazing. Excellent quality from fresh roasted beans. This place has a really clean and great atmosphere. The service was fast and friendly. I loved their support of local law enforcement as well. Support your local coffee house and skip the expensive conglomerate burnt tasting coffee down the road.

Came here while out of town for work and they had so ac at the time but the staff was really friendly and helpful. I got the matcha with banana foam and it was actually really good! It's a cute little shop.

A solid coffee place near our hotel. The barista wasn't very warm, but it looked like he was by himself. We got the double pour over, which was nice. We also had a ham panini and a piece of avocado toast. Both were fine but nothing special, A little splash of basalmic would elevate the toast. It's a nice place with plenty of seats both upstairs and down.

LOVED Mak Daddy. My husband it the PICKIEST coffee connoisseur and he LOVES Mak Daddy. The barista's were responsive and kind. They gave useful advice and were willing to work around our dietary restrictions and preferences! The ambiance is so charming and preserved the history of the original building!

We spent over a week in Yakima, and I'm so glad we discovered Mak Daddy coffee on our first day. Not only is the coffee excellent and the food a treat too, but I saw so many interesting things while spending time there. Thanks to a reliable wi-fi connection and a cool and comfortable downstairs room, I spent a few days working from Mak Daddy's. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the space worked out very nicely whether I was in a meeting, focusing on writing up some new marketing copy, or just relaxing. Here's just a few of the other things that happened while I was hanging out there: music lessons, study sessions, a first date, career counseling, a job interview, portable chess games and a couple building a tiny model of a coffee shop (very meta). I have a feeling that if you hang out long enough here, you could see just about anything. Mak Daddy is a great stop if you're just looking for an excellent cup of coffee - you're sure to find that here. But if you have the time, hang out for a while. You never know what you might see.

Such a cute vibe! Good service and the coffee wasn't bitter. The food was delicious and I LOVED the raspberry sauce with my panini. Would definitely visit again if in Yakima. The staff was friendly and helpful to pick something for my dietary needs. Photo attached of 1/2 of the panini - so good forgot to take a photo before eating it.

Amazing coffee. Nice lady working by herself making coffee and cutting sandwiches. We got the iced white Thai, mak daddy sweet, matcha with raspberry, and the honey latte. The mak daddy was THE best coffee I've tasted ever. Will always come back here and get that when I'm on this side of town

Feels like a decent space to get some work done. Nice interior. Lady's serving us both seems a little less friendly and less welcoming than you would expect at a coffee shop, but it could have just been a rough day.

Great barista. Love the space very open and inviting. Lots of seating. Street parking and good hours.

Very interesting coffee shop in Yakima - there is ample seating in the ground level and basement level, where you can enjoy your drinks, or you can also get it to-go. What's interesting is the basement level has wheel designed tables as an additional flair to the ambience. We tried the 12 oz of Yukon Joe (bourbon + maple latte) and the seasonal specialty Someone's Salty (peanut butter, salted caramel, cream). The drinks are pretty solid though beckons for a bit more presentation, but they were pretty tasty. I doubt the Yukon Joe had sizable amounts of alcohol so we didn't get ID'ed, or maybe it's flavor, as I didn't really sense it's spiked (otherwise the cost is amazing). This was overall a great pick-me-up after a long drive.

It's got a great location just off the main street in downtown, and was quite a lovely little space. Very much designed for people to come in, spread out and converse, it was a very warm and inviting sort of spot. The coffee offerings have a definite, Mexican flare to them, and were very nice. They had standard offerings and then a number of specials on a sort of fresh sheet. They had plenty of coffee and Mexican culturally centric items for sale as well as some clothing. Nice stuff to look through and most would find something they enjoy! The pictures in the wall were as expected, until I saw a print that read "Excess in Moderation". I found out it's by an artist named Ravi Zupa and now it may be my favorite picture! Back to the coffee - The ladies working here were very friendly and everything came out quick. All in all, a really cool spot with a great local vibe and pizzazz running throughout! You should check it out.

Adding to the continued expansion of awesomeness, Yakima now has its own nano roasters!…read more A lovely couple started roasting beans out of their house about 6 months ago and had such a following that they decided to open up a little shop from which to sell said roasty beans! Located off Tieton next to a salon, a gym and a taqueria, it's a perfect place to grab your fix and go. This isn't a coffee shop, but rather a roaster, so you're only buying beans. The place is only open a couple times per week for folks to pick up orders (or buy more) and also for the roasting to be done. A quick tour revealed some really cool stuff they've done! Currently they're offering 4 different types of beans that they've sourced from all over the world. They're working to make sure the beans are fairly sourced from farmers in different regions so they have a variety and maintain the integrity of the product. It's pretty rad at its core! Non-pretentious, solid coffee, that benefits the people buying and selling it. The store is small, but with lots of character. The roaster they use is American made with American materials and is 100% awesome! Said roaster is the centerpiece and the art on the walls is from local artists. They've decided to not take a commission to everything that's sold benefits the ladies who've produced that pictures. Good stuff! At present, the bags retail for $15 each and they've got beans from Ethiopia, Sumatra and Mexico. Not the least expensive coffee you'll find, but truthfully not bad. It's less expensive than most of the stuff you'll find at any national chain, but this is actually benefiting the area A welcome addition to town and run by some great folks! Even if you don't like coffee, you definitely know someone who does, and as such it's worth your time to get them a bag of beans from here!

Finally we have an amazing coffee roaster in Yakima!!!…read more I went to Basalt Roasters on a Monday and it was tiny but BEAUTIFUL inside. The owner showed me the various kinds of coffee beans they carry. She was very friendly and eager to help me. They only had Latin American single origin coffee beans at that moment. I bought the Guatemalan and Mexican coffee. I tried them both and I fell in love the Mexican single origin coffee. The Mexican coffee smells so intoxicating and it tastes amazing. Unlike most coffee beans, they did not smell or taste burnt. They were bright and rich. The only downside of this place is that they're only open on Mondays and on certain hours during the day. If you're a coffee snob or just love coffee in general- I would totally recommend this place.

We ordered a plain coffee, flavored latte, and cappuccino from this place. Two people in my group noted that they were greeted with sass or attitude from the cashiers when they tried to order "normal" coffee drinks, like just a black coffee or a cappuccino, since the menu doesn't list anything other than their specialty drinks. Seems like they really drive you to buy the expensive flavored stuff and don't like people trying to order the basics. One person in my group said they liked the flavor of their cappuccino and the other said the coffee was just fine, nothing special. I ordered their Yukon Joe and asked for it in my cup, which they were happy to do. Drink came out quickly. I could really taste the flavor of the bourbon roasted beans. Be warned, they apparently put 5 pumps of syrup in their 12 oz drinks. I asked for just 1 and it was still so sweet I wondered if they forgot and gave me more syrup than I asked for... Other random stuff: They offer wi-fi. You have to ask the cashier for the password. They have a room you can book for meetings, which was being occupied by a pop-up tattoo vendor. Random but cool...? One thing I did not like was being charged a credit card fee without being warned at first. Overall, drinks were good but service seems to be a hit or a miss. (Based on a few other reviews, more a miss than a hit...) Prices are high as they offer more "specialty" coffee and we felt customer service could be better.
