We happen to cross this place when we were looking for a coffee shop to kill some time on a weekend morning. It's got a great location just off the main street in downtown, and was quite a lovely little space. Very much designed for people to come in, spread out and converse, it was a very warm and inviting sort of spot. The coffee offerings have a definite, Mexican flare to them, and were very nice. They had standard offerings and then a number of specials on a sort of fresh sheet. They had plenty of coffee and Mexican culturally centric items for sale as well as some clothing. Nice stuff to look through and most would find something they enjoy! The pictures in the wall were as expected, until I saw a print that read "Excess in Moderation". I found out it's by an artist named Ravi Zupa and now it may be my favorite picture! Back to the coffee - The ladies working here were very friendly and everything came out quick. All in all, a really cool spot with a great local vibe and pizzazz running throughout! You should check it out. read more

Last visited Aventura over 2 years ago (when they were still next to the book shop) and then moved away. Was my favorite place for coffee in Yakima. Recently moved back, visited the new space, and love love love the vibes, the food, and STILL my favorite coffee in Yakima. I will definitely be back to try more of the food and it will definitely be one of my "third spaces". Highly suggest taking the time to stop and visit. read more

The food is great here as well as the drinks. They have very creative seasonal selections when available. The service is friendly as they greet you when you arrive. It's a very chill place to study and chat with people you meet up with although sometimes the music can be a bit loud. read more

Aventura has THE best coffee in town. As others have noted, the vibe is a really nice, quirky Mexican American theme that encouraged you to stay and hang out for a bit. The decor is welcoming and cozy. The highlight of the store however is how excellent and pure the coffee is. There are some flavored lattes which are Latinx inspired and well balanced. If you prefer aromatic but not too sweet, you'll really appreciate these drinks. If you are a coffee purist however, this place will feel like an oasis in the desert. A plain cappuccino is how you can separate the good coffee shops from the great coffee shops. The milk foam is EXCEPTIONAL. The bubbles are just the right size such that its texture helps aromatize all the coffee bean flavor. I got hints of cherry, strawberry jam, brown sugar, chocolate, even some soy sauce umami. I don't know where they are getting these beans but it completely blew my mind. The only place you are going to find a better cappuccino is at your unemployed friend's house who inexplicably has a $20k set up at home. I dare you to find a comparable coffee shop on this side of Washington. The only other coffee shop that compares is Beyt Jenin who actually received a ton of guidance from Aventura. I stopped in for a Saturday morning, coffee and breakfast sandwich, and was not disappointed! The vibe is Latinx quirky, the bacon breakfast sandwich with avocado was delicious, and the coconut based latte (which had a fun name that I didn't write down) was delicious! This is an extreme hidden gem! The coffee is on par with what you would find in LA or some other well developed coffee scene. I can't believe they got this kind of a shop in a smaller city like Yakima. Today when I went in I talked to the owners for a minute and you could tell they're very serious about their product but more importantly knowledgeable about coffee and what they're doing. I have been wanting to try this place for a while and came on a Saturday afternoon around 11am. It is located immediately adjacent to the Encore bookstore. The menu has the standard classic espresso drinks, but also some unique Mexican-inspired coffee creations. I had the Avena coffee.... So delicious! There are some pastries on offer, as well as some more gourmet style toasts. I tried the Ducal toast, which was wonderful. I had a great experience and thought the coffee was amazing. The experience at Aventura Coffee was wonderful. The staff are super inviting and kind. I felt as if I had walked into a friend's house. The coffee was delicious and offered different flavors that I wouldn't think of mixing with coffee, but it worked! I had the fruity pebbles latte, and my husband had a strawberry and passion fruit iced coffee. Both are off their Valentines Day menu. Unique and delicious!
