We stopped in for lunch and thought the food was good, but the prices were a little shocking. A chicken salad was $24, a fruit bowl was $9, and a bowl of soup was $14, which felt excessive. The ambiance was nice and the servers were very sweet, but I can't see paying over $50 for lunch for two people on a regular basis. The food was ok, nothing spectacular to match the price. This might be a good place for a special occasion, but probably not somewhere we'd choose for an everyday casual lunch. read more

When I met my wife, our first date was at White House Cafe. The ambient is great, peaceful and lovely. The customer service is fantastic and the food is on another level. All these factors make it the perfect place to take your loved ones for a perfect breakfast or lunch. Would I recommend it? Not enough. Went here at the end of August for breakfast (ends at 10:30am) and made a reservation for the outside patio. The decor and grape vines draping over us were so pretty, but beware when you're outside there are bugs! and they like to especially fly into your drink. Breakfast menu is limited and very simple, consisting of the same ingredients (eggs, ham, cheese) prepared with different types of carbs and a side of fruit. Such simple ingredients, but it tastes so good? The eggs were perfectly fluffy and seasoned. My ranking goes: 1. Croissant sandwich (I love croissants and it was the perfect carb ratio to egg/ham) 2. Cheese egg scramble with toast and jam on the side (the jam was delicious) 3. Ciabatta sandwich w/turkey bacon (ciabatta bread was thick and dry, so we just ate the filling and left the bread) Food takes a long time to come out, so make sure to have good company to converse with. Servers were nice. I would not recommend coming here if you are in a rush to get in and out. Plates were quite pricey at average of $20 each, but portions were filling. We've been going here for years, but this was our first time visiting on a holiday for Mother's Day. It's also one of our favorite places to bring out-of-town guests. Everything on the Mother's Day menu was so delicious. It had 5 or 6 specials to choose from, and each one came with a drink. To top it off, every seat had a cookie waiting for guests, which was such a thoughtful and beautiful touch. The portions were generous, and the service -- as always -- was amazing. My relatives were very impressed, and it made the experience even more special. It may be spendy to others but it is worth it, and the wait is worth it as well. read more

My son and I stopped here for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning. We got there right at 10:30 and were told they had switched from breakfast to lunch menu. We decided we were more in the mood for lunch anyhow. Lunch on the outdoor patio was very nice and cozy, There were some families there with kids who enjoyed playing on the lawn while waiting for food. Servers were very nice. We both got the daily special of chicken salad on a croissant with sweet pepper corn chowder. Both were very good. We'll definitely be back to try the breakfast menu also. read more

Located in what was a large family farmhouse back in the day. This charming restaurant has been a go-to for enjoying Sunday Brunch. Highly recommend a reservation as it can be busy. When weather permits, sitting outside is best - it is quieter and does not feel crowded. Inside is good too, but can be noisy if a large group is nearby. The menu is somewhat limited for me. As a person with egg sensitivity, most of the substantial brekkie items are off the table, so I tend to order a sandwich - they all look good. The turkey & cranberry is yummy and I've been stuck on the chicken salad and really need to order the others to try them too. Soup is not served for Sunday Brunch, so a weekday trip is needed to get in on that action. The wait staff is awesome - friendly and kind given all the demands made of them. Yum! White House Cafe was recommended to me by a friend who said they had the best breakfast in Yakima. Don't let this house deceive you, inside is a delicious breakfast or lunch! My family and I ordered some omelettes, I got the oatmeal, and we shared a couple of cinnamon rolls as well. Our server was so sweet and quick. We asked about if they made pancakes and waffles, she let us know that they do not, which is a bit strange for a breakfast spot, but not a deal breaker. Ambiance is giving cute, antique store. Review of cafe only. Came here for lunch on our way out of town. Such a great decision. I had the chicken salad on croissant with a fruit cup, sat outside. the place is so cute. The server was amazing. I told her we were going on a hike, so she really carefully wrapped up our sandwiches and filled our water bottles. Top notch customer service. Outdoors you can sit under a gorgeous grape arbor, or inside at a cozy table in this quaint repurposed home. (You can even reserve a room, if you'd like more privacy.) The menu is somewhat limited but there is something for every taste. Our party of 8 was served quickly and the food delicious... from quiche, to soup, salads or a sandwich... we opted to enjoy looking at the beautifully plated food before eating. Beautiful and peaceful Ambience. When you walk in the door you feel like family. Definitely recommend reservations. The portions are good size and price is fair. The presentation of the food was high class. Water comes in a glass With strawberry and cucumber cubes which makes the water taste so fresh. Fresh fruit and the "sweet treat" was coffee cake like I've never had before. Light and fluffy and not too sweet. The veggie omelet was amazing. I was in Yakima last weekend and was taken to this adorable, delicious little restaurant and Bed and Breakfast place. I can't say enough about how wonderful the whole experience was. What a gem!! Let's start with the absolutely charming and welcoming entrance. You then enter this sweet house filled with loving touches that immediately made me excited to see if they offered that same passion to their food. And boy did they!! My water (yes just a plain free tap water) with a beautiful touch of a red heart made cleverly from freezing cranberries in a mold with a slice of fresh lime. I'm already smitten!! I ordered the veggie sandwich with toasted wheat bread. I am left to wonder if it gets better than this. Only to order a slice of the chocolate, chocolate cake and blown away. The food is fresh, flavorful and unforgettable! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Yakima next month to try their breakfast, which I'm told is fantastic! I got the special because it came with fruit and a 'daily sweet' that I was sure would be enough for my girl. I didn't ask the price. The total came to $30 with an iced tea. When they do not have a kids menu, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage or traditional items kids would eat other than fruit and sweets; this is a high price, I would not return. read more
