Gigantic slice of homemade coconut cream pie.
Kelli P.

Have been wanting to stop at this local place for years; not sure why we never have but Hubs and I finally stopped today and were thrilled with our choice. We were instantly greeted by staff as soon as we entered, love that. We got to choose our table by the windows to enjoy the spectacular view west towards the runway. Inside dining area has mostly two and four top tables. Staff was attentive and friendly. Hubs ordered a yummy espresso milkshake for starters (he likes treats before food). Lunch special, not on the menu, was a super flavorful chipotle steak sandwhich on thin pita bread. Couldn't pick it up since it was ooooey-goooey so I happily used a fork. Hubs had a the YKM Turkey wrap (substituted chicken) with cranberry that was stuffed to the gills. Huge portions. Both of us had the side soup of beef mushroom & noodles; hearty and good flavor. I'm a sucker for mac-n-cheese so we shared it as a second side; too runny for me but can't win 'em all. We were stuffed so we got dessert to-go: a gigantic piece of coconut cream pie and a jumbo slice of cherry pie. Chef's Kiss! A little windy and chilly today so we will def have to return on a nicer day so we can try the outside seating area. There is also a public runway viewing area next door that had picnic tables and an area for pets.

Went to this lunch spot recommended by a friend. I did take-out but what a cute small restaurant by the runway. Pretty secluded and cool interior decor. I do wish the place was a tad bigger.. felt like I was constantly running into someone especially by the salad bar. I am all for self-serve salad bar! So many options and quality items. I was able to fill up a go-to box for $8.99. We also ordered the cockpit sandwich: steak, arugula, pickled red onions and herb spread on a soft sub roll. AMAZING! Bread was perfectly toasted and that herb spread was to die for. Highly recommend! Can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu.

I went into Reno's for the first time having always driven by and I was blown away! The staff first off was so kind and helpful. Not only with selecting food for someone with allergies but with helping us figure out our flight by using their flightaware tablet. The food was amazing! I've had Bahn Mi's from all over and I have to say, this one might be towards the top of my list. There's something about the sweet chili sauce they use that just pulled the whole sandwich together. Everyone in our party loved their meals and most of us even had extras to take home as the portions were pretty large. Inside of building is cute, decorated with lots of aircraft decor. It's small inside and seemed like it can get pretty busy but it's a nice place to stop and eat in. Outside seating looked like it would be fun to watch the planes if you get the chance!

Reno's is an excellent place to get breakfast or lunch. Staci and Donny are super kind and welcoming and they run a nice little restaurant out of what was the original airport terminal for the Yakima Airport back in the 1930s. Lots of history with that building and they've decorated the interior with all sorts of aviation stuff. The portions are huge, especially the "slices" of cake and pie, and the food is delicious. If you love chocolate, get the chocolate pie. It's amazing! It's a popular stop for pilots who fly in for a bite to eat and park their planes next to the restaurant. They keep the tower frequency dialed up so you can listen to the communications between the Yakima air traffic controllers and pilots flying in and out of the airport.

After watching this place they transformed from an old outbuilding, to a restaurant sitting just on the east end of the runway in Yakima, we were excited to finally get to try it. We figured we would wait about a month so that they got some of the kinks worked out from a serving perspective. We finally got to stop by and were very impressed with what we found! I went back-and-forth between a four and a five on this place, but it ultimately got the five star bump after we tasted our salad... More to come! The place is literally right at the end of the runway to the east of the airport. There's seating for about 25 people with additional seating both out front and in back. It was a little bit cool while we were there, so we sat inside, but I can imagine this being a pretty awesome spot on a nice spring day. We found things here are definitely on the higher end of pricing, but quickly found out that the sizes of things are gigantic. It ended up being a pretty good value for the money when you consider how much food you get - literally everyone left with leftover! We shared a charcuterie board as well as the first class salad, and that was more than enough for two of us. Get a side of croutons, before I say anything else! They're little squares of heaven! The charcuterie board Set up nicely with three types of cheeses, a couple of meats and some nice accompaniments including some small pickles, pickled onions and some crème fraîche (I think) with honey. They had a nice mustard seed cheese, a very sharp aged cheese and a layered cheddar - all were very nice, and there was a lot of it. We ended up taking some home. Having an additional more potent edition like a blue would've been nice, but it's definitely gilding the Lily at that point. The first class salad is probably the favorite salad I've ever had! It was greens, dried cherries, candied walnuts, a very nice apple vinaigrette, sliced apples, some cherry tomatoes and was topped with a baked brie inside puff pastry! I can't believe I've never seen that before, but it seriously is the best thing I've ever seen put on a salad. Next time, I think we're going to order it with steak, and it may be the perfect meal! The servers, including the owner, we're all very nice and very attentive. They greeted everyone on the way in and on the way out, and made it a really friendly atmosphere. The lunch crowdWas a nice mix of working professionals and retirees so the noise level wasn't crazy. We are very excited about trying many of the different options here. They've got a nice array of sandwiches and salads, as well as a salad bar. They have specials for happy hour, which included beer and wine specials. This will be a really fun spot to continue to check out during the different seasons. You should definitely check it out, this is a great new addition To whatever advance and culinary scene!

If I could give this place more stars, I would! We got here about 15 minutes after they opened and weren't too sure if it was open. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by everyone that works here. They're all so friendly and attentive. We ordered their pickle sandwich and cub cob salad. While we were waiting for our food. People trickled in every few minutes. We clearly beat the rush because the place was packed by the time we left. They have a special they advertise on their board, a salad cart with baked goods proudly displayed above. This place is obviously right next to the local air strip, so they have all different types of model aircraft hanging from the ceilings. One of the ladies was telling us if you put together a model, they will hang it in the restaurant. They have a patio where you can watch planes come and go, they even provide blankets. Now to the food. Our food came and we were not disappointed. The salad was filled to the brim with all the fixings. Candied bacon, ham, turkey, boiled eggs and 3 containers of ranch! This place does not play around! It came with a cute little baguette with butter and peppercorns. My pickle sandwich had real turkey, mayonnaise, lettuce and a juicy peppered tomato slice. I had to eat it with a knife and fork because it was so loaded. You can get chips or soup, I got the ravioli soup and it was so hearty and flavorful. They have a whole dessert menu, but unfortunately we had to pass on it this time. I'm definitely going to make this a new place to stop at on my way to and from Seattle. I can't express how much I love this place after one visit! Keep up the amazing food and environment guys!

My spouse and I each ordered a Martini (with house New Amsterdam gin), which we enjoyed. We also each ordered the Thai Chicken Nachos from the Happy Hour menu -- a generous, flavorful dish with plenty left to take home for the next day. (My repeat order, it's that good!) What really stood out was how warm, friendly, and attentive the wait staff was to everyone. A very enjoyable visit and a spot we're happy to return to.

What was once our flavorful regular was now a dull and bland. Au jus was water with a hint of flavor, horseradish sauce was a warm water based cream with the deprived pungent horseradish taste we've all grown to love. The French dip sadly tasted better without all of its companions. Next up was the Wagyu cheeseburger, seemed to have a grainy texture to its bites, with a disappointing finish. The WF calamari was tweaked adding green olives and whole tentacles, which was weird considering it's never been that way. Honestly the best item we got was the Gorgonzola wagyu beef kabobs. These were cooked to perfection and gave us that reversion we craved. Although this was our first bad experience here, it will not deter us from returning. When I get the chance to revisit I will update this review in hopes for the better.

The pineapple was a crisp refreshing stand out dark horse. I probably wouldn't have ordered pineapple that was my husband's choice, but it was definitely my favorite. We also tried strawberry, mango, and orange. That is my order of deliciousness as well. I had the California eggs benny, they brought it with gluten free bread. The Benny was on point. The first slice revealed a luscious silky egg yolk. I felt like I needed a drum roll for the most perfect poached eggs! Hats off to the chef! My husband had the steak and eggs, with sourdough toast. I think he licked the plate. The steak was also perfectly pink in the center. My son chose the berry crepes, they were covered in berries. He enjoyed his breakfast. Don't skip out on sausage. We added sausage, the little plump sausages were a great addition to the sweet crepes. My daughter is a little breakfast picky, but their fruit bowl was impressive. She loved that the fruit was sweet and the presentation was standing up. We also ordered the corn chowder from the specialty menu. It was delicious, but lots of food. We took it to go!
