There is parking but I walked from hotel by conference center. Ordered the general tso chicken; gave ample amount of chicken but was a bit drier sauced of an entree. This is honestly the best restaurant in Yakima. I have moved to NYC and have gone to various places in Chinatown, and I still cannot find Pad Thai or Tom Yum as good as this. This is my go to place, I highly recommend the Tom Yum soup, the Pho, Pad Thai, the chicken and vegetable and their combination dinners. I love the lunch buffet but I have to refrain from going because it is so good and I will not stop eating! Lol. The people that own and work here are so sweet and never fail to ask me how I've been. Service is a bit slow, but only because they are understaffed. They are very friendly and courteous, which is a lot more important in my opinion. I noticed this place tonight and tried to Yelp it, only to discover it was unlisted. I decided I owed it to my fellow Yelpers to check it out. Plus I was in the mood for Chinese or Thai. The owners who waited on me were very nice and fun people to talk with. I ordered Pad-See-Ew (A Thai noodle dish) which is one of my favorite all time dishes of any type. I asked for it extra hot. Most places, in my experience, won't make my food spicy enough for me until I've gone there a few times and nagged them. These guys got it right the first time and the waiter even checked to make sure I was happy with the spicyness. The place was not busy but it took quite some time for my food to arrive. There are signs in all the booths that say something like "our food is cooked fresh so be patient." If you're in a hurry I wouldn't go here without at least calling ahead. As it was, I was not in a hurry, so I didn't mind. I've eaten Pad-See-Ew all over the states and in Thailand and it's always cooked with wide rice noodles. Tea Garden used the thinner noodles like you might get in Phad Thai. I asked if they had just run out of the wide noodles, but they said no, they use the thinner type. While it wasn't strictly traditional, it was still quite good and they didn't skimp on the pork either. Most American Thai places use "normal" broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli and that's what they did here. The broccoli they chose was tender, flavorful, not bitter, high quality and cooked perfectly. While the dish didn't quite hit the mark for traditional pad-see-ew, it was perfectly delicious in its own right. I just had water and it was cold, tasted fine (some restaurant tap water is nasty), and had plenty of ice. I'm giving it four stars for now but will go back and try something else to make sure my review is balanced. So far, so good! read more

We absolutely love the Tea Garden Restaurant. There are plenty of choices for our family of 4 to get exactly what we are in the mood for. I really love the Curry Fried Rice with Chicken and my husband likes the Ginger Chicken. The Satay was very delicious and the fried Thai eggrolls are divine! Our daughters LOVE the Beef Pho and always order it when we visit. The Thai iced tea is also delicious! The staff is very nice and always eager to serve us. They always make sure our drinks are filled and ask us if we are doing ok, which I appreciate their attentiveness. It's quiet and parking is easy. There is also another dining area that is great if you have a bigger party. Definitely some of the best Asian food in the Yak! read more

This restaurant makes the best barbecue fried rice in Yakima! You can order it as a main entree and walk away happy! Seriously, of all the places we've tried, there's no place that makes it better! We will take a drive to this place specifically to order their barbecued fried rice. We get cravings for it! I've also tried their Thai curry. They make it well, but the only reason I didn't enjoy it is because of my personal preference for Indian curry. But for someone who prefers Thai style curry, this might be the place to try. The almond chicken here is pretty good too. The only reason I don't give this restaurant 5 stars, is simply because it's not a five star restaurant. The atmosphere is very casual, although clean. Had my heart set on some pho today since my usual place us on vacation I looked through Yelp and saw 4 stars, asked for a menu they stated since its lunch they only focus on the buffet, ok. So there was only a handful of items to choose from wanted soup so tried the eggflower soup that didn't taste like eggflower soup, curry was cold, pad tai was way over cooked, they never asked if we wanted anything to drink besides water, the general chicken was way to sweet, some other people came in and they were allowed to order off the menu and got their food at a decent time, my daughter literally ate 2 spring rolls n some over cooked rice and they still charged full buffet price for her. We've eaten here quite a bit. This is definitely the best Chinese food in all of Yakima. We've tried literally every other Chinese place that's on yelp and in town and nothing compares. The egg rolls are super greasy (in a oh so bad for you guilty kind of way) but tasty and the crab wontons are probably just cream cheese, but tasty as well.
