I'm not sure where all the negativity about this place comes from, but I am pretty stoked to have found it! I randomly saw the sign for bubble tea while driving by one afternoon and decided that lunch should definitely come from this place. The lunch menu included seven, seven dollar specialswith most of the Americanized Chinese favorites like general Tso chicken, orange chicken and broccoli beef.The real kicker however was the bubble tea. They probably had 30 different flavors, served cold or hot, and with choices of bubbles or lychee. The strawberry Taro with bubbles was particularly good! The parking situation was relatively limited with street parking, but the area is never that busy so you're always within a few blocks. There's seating for 50 people or so and it definitely looks like a place that has been a Chinese type restaurant for a long time. Also said, this place was unexpectedly good based on the ratings they had received. They serve up some excellent Americanized Chinese food and had really good bubble tea and hot milk tea! Been hunting for some good Chinese food and this did not disappoint. Outside and inside have a quiet "hole in the wall" feeling. Although inside immerses you into the culture. I ordered the Orange Chicken combo and hot kumquat tea. Wow!! I've always wondered if restaurants actually use orange in the dish and KIKI's does, so don't be surprised if you get some nibbles of orange peel. The food was obviously cooked to order. I would not recommend ordering food here. I got very little beef in my Mongolian beef. The egg rolls were good and the fried pork rice and hot and sour soup were just okay. I did not see another person ordering food while we were there. I did not a lot of people ordering bobo tea. read more

I had the worst plate of chinese food at KiKi's today. Ordered orange chicken, almond chicken chowmein, and mixed veg. The orange chicken had a very light orange flavor and the glaze, rather than thick and sticky, was runny with little flavor. The almond chicken usually has a nice thick gravy. Not so with this one. It was thin and runny with a bizarre off flavor I can't even describe. The chowmein had a burned flavor and was over cooked. The veg wasn't bad but not great. And if it couldn't get any worse, it did. Of all things, the water was horrible. Now, this was my first time at KiKi's and obviously my last. As with any bad restaurant, they probably have some good food. Several hours after I ate, I spent considerable time in the bathroom. read more

This review is for their BUBBLE TEA. As far as the menu selection goes, this place is excellent. Great variety of flavours and toppings! Taste-wise, I enjoyed my bbtea -- it wasn't as good as the ones I've had back home, but still pretty tasty (: The only thing that irked me about Kiki's is that they brought out the straws on a tray without any kind of wrapping or cover. I like to think I'm not a neurotic germophobe, but c'mon. What if the tray had been previously used to bus a table? Or the straws had dropped to the floor? Bleegh. read more

This is only for the bubble tea. Other reviews state the bubble tea was "amazing" and maybe I caught them on a bad day but it was not good by any means. I got the green milk tea since I was told it was jasmine milk tea. Tasted as if it was watered down milk with almost no taste from the tea. No floral taste that I have gotten from every other green milk tea I have had. My wife tasted it as well and agreed that it tasted like fat free milk but even more watered down. She got the black milk tea. Hers was better and had some taste but both of us agreed it tasted extremely watered down. read more

Food - We can only speak on the Won Ton and Hot and Sour soups and both were outstanding. As transplants from the Seattle area, we've had our fair share of Asian restaurants and my Won Ton soup was the best I've ever had. A HUGE bowl, rich broth, large won ton's filled with meat and veggies - I was in heaven! We also ordered the spring rolls and they came with a light, delicious lemony tasting sauce. Because we were there for a late (3P) lunch and there was a lull before dinner people started arriving, we were able to talk with the owner and his wife which was fun. Love getting bubble tea from here, my kids enjoy it too. They have a great selection of flavors to choose from as well as different types of drinks/boba. The staff is incredibly friendly we've visited twice in the last couple of weeks and we like that they have us order by phone and then they bring it right out to our car. I was in the mood for a quick bite and happen to be in Yakima (first time and probably last time). Their boba tea is definitely great, lots of choices to pick from and different jellys to chose from too. Their lunch time food kind of was poor. I was going to order some veggie egg rolls as an appetizer but found out that my lunch comes with one so that was a nice plus. Until I saw it. Their spring rolls/egg rolls is way too small. It is like those 'Mini Spring Rolls' you get at Winco. They also put some sweet and sour sauce (that looks liked it was made from a different area) on it. So by the time it cools down, its soggy. The meal I got was their #3 General Tso Chicken. And my husband got Orange Chicken. Their soup is quite good, it had plenty of favor. But the salad that came was the meal was unnecessary and kind of gross to even look at. What bugged me first is that when the server gave our food, she gave us the wrong one. So I was eating Orange chicken. I knew it was odd right off the bat but my husband didn't quite notice the difference since he doesn't order it much and for some reason on their menu it said it would be spicy. Orange chicken is sweet, not spicy. So after a few bites we traded. The chicken was alright, not crispy at all but not too soggy. Another thing that bothered me is that it tasted very similar to the orange chicken and looked even closer. (which is why we were confused) it tasted like they use the same sauce but then adds some orange to it. Kikis Chinese restaurant is the 1st place to get boba in Yakima. Before it was the only place but now another asian restaurant (nyt) provides boba as well. Kikis is one of those Chinese restaurants that you just can't ignore because of its presence as a local hometown eatery. The food here is always fresh and might require some waiting time but service is quick and friendly. The menu has Chinese and Thailand cuisine. The main attraction is the Boba tea and if you've never had it I suggest Kiki's as the first place to get it from. Selection of flavors and the options to change from cold, hot, or assorted ice is a great feature. Also they allow mixing of flavors which can create some unique Boba tea tasting. My favorite place to get Boba from. Now comes the reason for my rating and that would have to do with pricing. A Boba and a plate of sweet and sour chicken, almond chicken, rice and lo mein was close to $20. I do not understand the hiking of prices but it may have to do with credit/debit card charges?? Also, the receipt wasn't itemized -- so I don't even know if that price was a mistake. If the portion sizes had been generous, I'd rate this much higher. Kiki's has gone downhill over the past few months, depending on who's cooking. The 50-something cook is training a young cook; young guy makes food too salty and never gets the sauces right. Use the the back alley entrance and check who's in the kitchen -- if young guy's cooking, continue your fruitless search for decent kinda-Asian food in Yakima.
