The dishes are extra generous with about 2 servings worth of food each. For a starter, we had the crab rangoon which came with more pieces than we were expecting. The crab flavor was more pronounced than the cream cheese- which we found delicious. I thought all rangoon were basically from the same supplier, but these were richer than any we had before. I ordered a blue Thai iced tea. I think I was expecting blue raspberry Italian soda flavor, which this was definitely not. It had an earthy, unique flavor that is closer to an ube. They mentioned it was made from butterfly peas. Pad Thai came with plenty of large prawns and was full of tangy tamarind flavor. Three stars was the perfect balance of heat for me. It reminded me of the very first Pad Thai I had back in 1999 at a restaurant in Seattle that no longer exists. It immediately made me feel nostalgia for that era. Tom Kha soup is pure comfort food with a hearty coconut milk base and plenty of carrots, onions, broccoli, green beans, tomato and mushrooms. They bring you a large portion of rice to accompany the dish which I always like to mix in with my soup. This was my girlfriend's favorite dish here. The mango sticky rice had hot, sticky rice, sliced mangos and sweet cream drizzled all over the top. The mango was fresh and firm. This was a nice balance of flavors without overt sweetness drowning anything out. The service was excellent with the staff anticipating our refill needs and checking on us often. The ambience for dining was simple and understated. They call their fare "Thai street food" and the decor matches that to a T. Not fancy, but quaint and perfect for a fun date. Overall, we are very happy that we found this place and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good Thai cuisine.

Looks like it might accommodate 25 diners. Take out appears to be bustling. The Pad Thai was on point. The best I have had in Yakima and I'm pretty sure I've sampled all this town has to offer. The portion was generous and easily will provide 3 more meals beyond today's lunch. The tableware is solid and comfortable to use. (I do not like thin stamped out metal forks, I'd rather use plastic) The hostess/server was a delight. She was attentive, had a knack for timing when checking in with us. She was kind and friendly. When we took our leave, the hostess and cook expressed genuine appreciation of our business and I got a good look at the kitchen; also clean and tidy. My friend and I agreed that this is a restaurant that deserves to be well supported so we don't lose it.

When we arrived, the seating area is full, but we were still greeted warmly. We ordered our meal to go but we were still offered a place to sit in glasses of water while we waited. We both ordered pho. I got the combination pho with everything and my wife ordered the beef pho. She also ordered some pork bao buns, and I ordered soup dumplings. They packaged the pho very well, with the broth, vegetables and meat, and one container and the noodles, some of the extra meat, lines, cilantro, basil, etc. In another container, the servings were huge. We had plenty for another meal the next day. The pho broth was excellent. We did have to heat it up again when we added the noodles and extras, but it was well worth it. The soup dumplings were flavorful and warm and the bao buns had a mild but rich pork filling. This was a real treat while we were on the road.

Not too sweet, but definitely sweet enough to cut the bitter taste of the coffee. The coffee itself wasn't too bitter or sour tasting. I'd get that again. The banh mi, the pork belly option is double the price of any other protein. I'm not sure if that works out in the worth it department for me, but the meat proportion in the sandwich is worth it. The veggies seemed pretty fresh, crisp, but no jalapeño in the sandwich. Not sure if that's a regular thing, but I've eaten enough banh mi with jalapeños, so I consider that a necessary ingredient. The bread was toasted pretty heavily, perhaps cooked in the grease of the pork belly? Not sure. I wasn't a huge fan of that, the bread itself was difficult to tell if it was light and springy with a flaky crust, because it was toasted so hard. Either way, the sandwich was eaten, the coffee was gulped down. I'd probably try other things here. Smelled good in there. Service was nice, staff seemed really amicable and they were turning tables as quickly as people were hopping out of their seats.

When you walk in you think that everything is primarily to go which looks like a lot of their business. Once you find a seat you get a large menu that's posted above the to go area and to your right on a rotating screen. We ordered two dishes that were delicious, the special pho with beef and Mom's Special. Mom's Special was definitely the favorite. Egg roll, shrimp, roasted pork and egg noodles (cold). It's served over bean sprouts with a sweet chili sauce. This dish hits all your taste buds. Yakima needs variety. I'm excited to try other dishes soon.

I really do understand the challenges of running a family business -- everyone pitches in, the hours are long, and it's a lot of work -- so my feedback comes from the perspective of hoping it can be helpful. Service & Atmosphere * The interior is clean and modern, which we appreciated. * The setup initially made it look like we should order at the counter, but when we went up, we were kindly told to grab a seat instead. * We ordered one pho and one banh mi. There were at least six people working and only about four tables occupied, so we were a bit surprised that it took longer than expected for our food to arrive. * The staff seemed quite busy, and we didn't experience much warmth or friendliness during our visit (no smiles or casual check-ins). * One staff member checked on us before our food arrived, but after the dishes came out, no one came by to see how everything was or for water refills. * Check-out is at the counter, which is confusing. * I understand space is limited and family members need breaks, but two people were watching videos on their phones at a fairly loud volume near us. Normally this wouldn't bother us much, but the videos had a lot of loud laughing, and they were on at full volume, which made it a bit hard to relax and enjoy our meal. Food I'm not sure if this is a different regional style of Vietnamese food or a unique take, but it was quite different from what I'm used to. * The pho, for me, lacked depth of flavor. It basically was a bowl of hot water with MSG. I didn't taste any beef bone broth, so I ended up using quite a bit of sriracha and hoisin to add more flavor. 1/5 * The menu mentioned cilantro, but our bowls came with green onions instead and no cilantro. Big deal! * I ordered a large pho, and the portion felt closer to what I'd consider a regular size elsewhere. * The pork banh mi was okay, but it didn't have the charred, grilled flavor I usually associate with this sandwich. Again, it was topped with green onions instead of cilantro. 3/5 * Prices felt higher than what I'm used to in Seattle and Bellevue: the large pho was around $19, and the banh mi was about $15. I recognize there aren't many Asian or pho options in the area so I can understand why this place is popular. Unfortunately, it just didn't quite match what we typically look for in pho and banh mi.
