Oh my god, you guys- our party of 11 for my Mama G's 88th was held here and food and service was incredible. They were training someone new and they kept dropping dishes and trays in the back (7 times, we counted) and everyone used good humor about the poor new staff... my competely sober aunt fell backward in her chair and landed next to another diners' booth- our server was again, so patient and kind helping her up. They tolerated the mess my eight year old inevitably made as she disemboweled her hamburger and made my grandma feel special on her special day. We loved their caesar salad, their halibut and their stuffed mushrooms. read more

We've been to 2nd Street Grill a couple times for the past few months, and each visit has been great! We have ordered the Italian Grinder, Banh Mi Sandwich, Birria Panini, and Birria Nachos. The Birria Panini and Banh Mi Sandwich were obvious standouts! The bar area is great for catching a sports game as they have many televisions and draw a crowd for Seahawks or Mariners games. They have good happy hour deals daily, and the drinks we have ordered have all been great! read more

Amazing service! Our waitress came by often for refills and to check in us but not too much. She was very positive and upbeat making us feel very welcome. My wife had a salad and gluten free clam chowder. She was so impressed that it was even on the menu but ecstatic that it was outstanding chowder. I had the Italian pizza and it was pretty good. Had this place for the first time of course Valentine's Day. For starters the pretzel was great now the mains I won't even give them 1 star, we truly didn't even eat half of our meals. My ribeye looked like they boiled it then threw it on the grill for markings no seasoning just extremely bland the baked potato was so burnt you can smell it, the Korean beef bowl was ok the noodles were a little gummy but the broth was good. Very nice place. Excellent food portions. We had the Ahi Tuna Salad, BBQ Short Ribs and Shrimp and Grits. Needless to say the portions are generous and none of us cleaned our plates. The Ahi Tuba Salad is a go to favorite of my brother in law. Amply portioned and well put together. It looked amazing and he had no complaints! As a local, it is a favorite for him. My sister had the BBQ Ribs. She enjoyed them immensely and took her leftovers home as there was plenty of food on her plate. My shrimp and grits were fan-freaking-tastic! The grits were creamy and well prepared with just enough heat to give good spice but not burn up your tastebuds! The shrimp were tender and cooked perfectly. The downside is that like so many places the tails are left on so my fingers get messy BUT it was so good! I too had leftovers and they were oh so good the next day for lunch! Fantastic service, but food is mediocre. Great setting for a large group though. They didn't take reservations and told us to check availability by walking in. We came with 20 people on a whim and they were able to seat us within 5 or 10 minutes. Super accommodating and they were on top of the drinks. They made at least 3 rounds asking about drinks or getting refills before we got to order food. Possibly because of the larger party, but possibly because the drinks are a bigger deal than the food. Considering the food, I thought it was a bit below average but service brings my rating up. Also found it interesting that buying less Clam Chowder is cheaper ($5 for 8oz and $8 for 12oz). Usually it's the other way around, so do take that into account since it feels like a bad practice. Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo - creamy pasta and some decent garlic bread. One piece was over toasted and crispy while the other was softer. Love bread for cleaning up sauce. Biggest issue was that the chicken was dry and even the sauce couldn't bring it up. Packed house on a Tuesday night. It was cold outside but nice and cozy here. We sat at the bar and had cocktails and dinner. The staff at the bar were attentive and engaging. We had a great time and enjoyed our experience. We shared a huge Cesar salad (enough for two!) and the short rib dinner. This was divine. Tender beef, risotto and asparagus were perfectly cooked. If I have to make any criticisms, it's that the sauce was a bit sweet and could have used a little less of it. We shared this dish thankfully. The portions are huge! read more

Really crisp and tasty bacon on my bacon cheese burger. This place surprised me. My initial impression when I stepped inside was a TGI Friday's chain restaurant experience - but I was WRONG. It's MUCH better. I got a classic burger with cheddar and added bacon. The sandwich was awesome and clearly put together by chefs who have pride in their work. I used the word chef on purpose, someone really thought about how the sandwich should be put together and order high quality ingredients. The grind of the meat was delicious. Not too fatty but full of flavor and cooked to temperature (you get to choose). It was nicely seasoned and well balanced with the toppings The lettuce was super fresh and not wilted. The red onion was fresh and sliced at a reasonable thickness. Here's the best part - the bacon. 2 slices of perfectly cooked high quality bacon. It had great salty/savory balance. It was NOT tough or chewy. I highly recommend the bacon. The bun was perfect, not too heavy or light for the meat and toppings. I'd recommend for a high quality lunch. read more

My coworkers and I stopped in for a quick lunch during our break between class sessions. Walking through downtown Yakima, seeing lots of places to explore further at another time. The place was busy, but we were seated almost immediately, and given menu's, waited quite awhile for a server to check on us, taking our order as we had plenty of time to decide, waters and drinks came quickly. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, one of the old downtown buildings, with historic pictures on the walls, no doubt, one of the popular places for lunch downtown. Our food arrived soon, and looked delicious. One coworker had ordered the Rueben, which was huge, more than enough for lunch, another ordered the fish tacos, and I had ordered the Thai stir fry w/ chicken and shrimp. A few negatives, Both coworkers asked for salsa and fry sauce, which didn't appear, the stir fry could have used more veggies, and we had to flagged down the server in order to get our bills and get back to class, thus the lower star rating. I try to understand when a restaurant is busy, truly, but in this case, yes they were busy, but not slammed, and it looked like they were well staffed. Positives, the food was good and plenty, atmosphere was great, so I wouldn't hesitate to give them another chance, sometimes things can be just off. Not the kind of restaurant I'd go to for the food, but a more so to go to with a group because there will be something for everyone. On my most recent visit I ordered the Black and Bleu Burger with regular fries. It was fine. Not very flavorful. And the burger patty tasted a bit like old oil.
