There is a circular ordering area with a few high top seats and adjacent tables as you enter, with additional seating in the back. Interiors are a bit utilitarian and spartan for my tastes as I prefer a space that is more warm and welcoming. The exterior mural on the side of the building did give the place a bit more character. Many of the drinks only come in one 12 ounce size, so might not be the place if you prefer larger drinks. The mocha latte I ordered was a bit bitter and not excessively sweet, but otherwise strong. Service was a bit on the slow side, but they were experiencing a bit of a morning rush, so I won't hold it against them. While it's not a place I'd venture out of my way to visit again, Backyard Beans Coffee Company seems to be a solid coffee spot for locals and offer an ample menu of food items for those seeking something to eat.

I'm used to their bright, open, welcoming setups with comfortable seating and great lighting. This location is much longer than it is wide, so the seating is only along one wall. What I'm learning from visiting different locations is that inventory can vary; some items are consistent, but some are unique to certain stores. For example, this location had a cookie baked inside a croissant, which I haven't seen elsewhere. Unfortunately, they didn't have my usual favorites, so I tried the blueberry cream cheese bread. It didn't taste fresh to me. I'm used to soft, fluffy dough with a good amount of filling, but this one seemed to have less filling and the texture wasn't as fresh as I've experienced at other locations.
