This is a very cool spot but it is very *teeny*. I went here during the week on an afternoon and they were unexpectedly closed. I then tried to go to their location in pipersville based off hours online - but they weren't accurate and were also closed. I tried again to come back to this location and finally got to check it out. The interior is very cool. There is not a lot of seating at all. One long table with some stools and one or two tiny two seater tables. There was on barista working and that was it. He was nice and answered my questions. I got the creamsicle iced latte - it was maybe 16 Oz for $8 . The coffee was very good - it had a decent drink to ice ratio. I didn't taste much of the flavor until I was almost done my drink and then it was very concentrated and overbearing and bitter. They used an oil and it was just very strong. Maybe I'll be back, I'm not sure - but just for convenience factor probably not. Cool if you can get a seat though as the inside is very earthy with lots of bonsai trees. I just had to come out of Yelp retirement to write this review. We visited New Hope, PA for a few days and decided to hop into this coffee shop before heading home. The interior is very nice, with a lovely communal table, impressive bonsai trees, and bright lighting. But, I certainly would not include the cold and prickly barista as part of the nice vibes. It was early morning when we visited and this man seemed to don a perpetual frown on his face, coupled with an air of annoyance. There was not a single friendly exchange, and as a customer, you almost feel unwelcome in there. It's kind of strange when they don't want your business. I can let all that slide if my beverage was up to par, but, sadly, that was not the case. I paid an arm and a leg for mid-tier lattes that were barely above room temperature. The menu is quite interesting and I have no doubt they use quality ingredients, but even in an economy of heightened or runaway inflation, there is still no excuse for such an exorbitant upcharge, regardless of whether you use ceremonial grade matcha or provide cashew milk as an alternative to dairy. In no world should my two lattes cost over $20.00 unless you sprinkle them with edible gold dust. I'm used to paying a little for high-priced coffee and I see it all the time at the artisanal and hip coffee shops I visit at home in NY. Brooklyn alone has some of the most curated and vibey ones you could ever imagine, so I'm done batting an eyelash when it comes to such coffee shops. Shockingly though, Amsterdam Coffee Bar was even pricier than those spots! It made me suspect if some of that upcharge is to fund their obsession with bonsai trees (which in turn, they flip and sell here). I don't think I need to tell you that peddling bonsai plants and gemstones is a little on the tacky side. Another surprise is that this place is not even in the downtown area so high rent doesn't seem as though it would be a factor. I wouldn't say it's located in the sticks, but, it's certainly a bit more remote and not in a touristy or prime location. A hyper local coffee shop like this should not be charging as much as they do. It's a shame that the locals are being priced gauged all for "decent" coffee. Now I've read some of the snarky Google responses from the business owner and I'm sure he's got an obnoxious retort in the chamber to unleash on this review, but, no bother. I know that they care about customer feedback or else they would not have that Instagram follower counter hanging on their wall! To the locals and visitors here's a PSA; you don't need to go to Starbucks or run off to grab the coffee special at Wawa if you're looking for a respectable coffee shop. There are alternative spots where they respect you enough to appreciate your business and charge reasonable prices for their goods. I would highly recommend Native Cafe in Doylestown, PA (less than a 15 min drive from here), and that place was 100% fabulous. Expect immaculate vibes, service, coffee, and a delicious menu. You won't find bonsai trees or gemstones for sale there, but you'll get a warm and cozy Hygge atmosphere all for free and chances are high that they will even smile at you for your business. read more

We were passing through and wanted a quick, morning coffee. This place was a great surprise. A small, unassuming shop. Quite easy to miss in the little "shopping center". I briefly checked out the menu online and the unique drinks caught my attention. I with with the chocolate peanut butter latter and my wife had a mocha. We also splurged on a vanilla liege waffle and a brownie batter liege waffle. First, drinks were superb. Made pretty quickly and tasty. Mine had a distinct peanut butter flavor. I'd go with a potentially top few lattes I've enjoyed. The mocha my wife got was quite sweet, so more to my preference, but she loved it. She said it made her think of a brownie. While I'm slightly familiar with Belgian waffles, these were also outstanding. I had the vanilla, which is pretty standard, with little, caramel used flecks of pearl sugar. It's dense, but not heavy. Good texture and chewy. Reminiscent of a good pretzel. The one my wife had with brownie mixed in was also great. We actively tried to slow down while eating to enjoy them rather than scarf it down. The location doesn't have a lot of seating, but it's cute. I'd highly recommend a stop and I want to get back there. read more

We were staying nearby and I was perusing for coffee shops in the area. I came across Amsterdam Coffee Bar and saw it was super highly rated on Yelp and knew I had to try. I love that there were so many bonsai trees. I know they are hard to take care of, and every tree looks perfectly maintained. There are many interesting coffee combinations, but I decided to try the orange mocha. High quality chocolate paired with orange essential oils. So delicious and delicate. Such delicious well made cappuccino. The place is adorable with so many pretty bonsai plants and taro decks to flip through. My only complaint is that the premade stuff to buy (like apple juice) is insanely expensive. So if you have kids bring stuff, and also bring water for yourself. read more

Fabulous little place. Loved the aesthetic! I spent considerable time walking around marveling at the beautiful wood table, the owner's bonsai and assorted electronic gadgets. Some of the bonsai are for sale, of course my eye went to the most expensive one, bit resisted the urge to take it home to wither. My son had a iced flavored drink and a liege waffle. After nosing the whole beans that they are featuring for their pour over, I went for that splurge. Pass on milk or cream, this deserves to be enjoyed black. I tasted bittersweet chocolate, and to me dark fruit. Tasting notes are personal and the notes on the bag were similar but both exactly what I was experiencing. Cute cafe near Peddler's village. I took my family here since the food options at Peddler's are not the best and was pleasantly surprised. They have unique coffee flavor offerings and although I don't drink coffee everyone else in my party enjoyed their beverages. The food was good as well, the turkey bacon egg sandwich was flavorful, and they didn't skimp on fillings and the scone was the right amount of sweetness. On the end of a tiny strip mall just outside of Peddler's Village lies this little coffee shop. You may first notice the ambience is adorned with bonsai trees, but a look at the menu will show you some very interesting coffee creations that are sure to awaken your taste buds. While not a large selection, they do offer a few tasty treats as well. The prices are a little bit higher when you compare it to that popular chain, but you're getting something unique here. Every specially coffee we have tried has been just delicious, with the golden being one of my favorites. They do change the menu frequently to allow you to try a variety. I am once again telling you to try this coffee shop. I went on a weekend this time and I'm both happy and sad that it's getting so busy because I love the quiet in there, but I'm so glad they are getting the recognition they deserve. This place is a 10 out of 5. OMG. I had a rough morning this morning and randomly decided to look for a new cafe to go to. Turns out this is 17 minutes from me, has been around since 2021, and I never knew about it. It's crazy stunning and peaceful in here. The owner made the tables here (otherworldly beautiful), the bonsais (also incredible), it FEELS so good here. The woman behind the bar told me she drives an hour to work every day just to come to this fairy land. There are beautiful crystals here, I saw a woman pulling a tarot card, and the coffee is so smooth and delicious. I got a cortado with almond milk - magnificent. I also got a "Protein Puck" as a dairy and gluten free option here WITH CLEAN INGREDIENTS. It is so nice to buy something that's clean without excessive ingredients, and it was really good! For those of you more health conscious, the ingredients are: agave (ok ok), sunflower better, coconut, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, dates. Whaaaat!? Such a unique coffee shop! The vibes are truly immaculate, and the coffee is made so well. Latte art is great, flavor is fantastic, and the coffee beans themselves are noticeably better than chain shops. They use Elixr beans (also for sale) and brew them perfectly. Incredibly well balanced latte; not too sweet, not too strong, not too weak. A fantastic, small shop (that doubles as a bonsai gallery, I might add) right near Peddlers Village. Incredible coffee. Owner is very nice and accommodating. Even though the interior is incredibly nice with gorgeous bonsai trees, he goes out of his way to make parents with children feel welcome. He even gave me some hot water to warm my 10 month old's bottle when we were out past her feeding time. Outside of the amazing drip coffee, they have the wildest cold brew coffee I've ever had. The Kyoto cold brew is a must have for coffee enthusiasts. The lattes are the best I've had anywhere, too. the lemon latte is ridiculous! This is my favorite coffee place! The drinks are creative and coffee-forward, the baristas are legit and friendly, and the waffles and snacks are great too! Last year I moved to Buckingham after 6 years in NYC, and as a coffee-head, I was expecting to be pretty exclusively brewing from home, but Amsterdam Coffee Bar is like someone dragged and dropped a really great coffee shop from a big city into a random lucky spot in Bucks County. Outstanding coffee and chill atmosphere. The homemade waffles are outstanding. Their coffee quality leaves other places around here in the dust, it's that good! Ever since Jamie Hollander ceased their retail (no more stopping in for coffee) the only choice was Wawa. So happy that Amsterdam is here. Yes, for awhile they had a minimum amount for credit cards (no longer though!). I'd like to address the poor review that seemed more based on their annoyance with the credit card minimum rather then the coffee! As a business owner (in NJ- I live in New Hope) I know that credit card companies charge a monthly flat fee for companies to use the service like $600-1000. That minimum purchase amount allows a business to offset the interchange fee paid for processing the transaction-somewhere between 1% to 3% of the transaction. In some cases, there will be a minimum interchange fee. So if you're using your credit card to buy a low dollar item that transaction could actually end up losing money for the business. When a store says you must spend at least x dollars to use your credit card, under the Dodd-Frank law, a business can set a credit card minimum of up to $10. So, to the reviewer who was annoyed with the cc minimum: take a course in economics and maybe a business course. Starting a company is expensive. Support local stores and show some compassion. Think before you review and make a substantial argument. read more
