    Outside of Richboro Coffee

I went to Richboro Coffee for the first time a couple weeks ago to do some work and drink some coffee. Here are some general pros / cons: PROS: - The owner (I think?) there is extremely friendly. He worked very hard to keep people happy (and that's the main reason that I am giving 5 stars versus 4). I saw him give people free upgrades so they could try new things, he gave someone some dark roast to drink while he re-made a batch of their requested medium roast, and so on. His customer service was exceptional. - There's lots of space available - The coffee seemed high quality and very delicious (both my iced coffee and a latte that my sister ordered were excellent) - Costs were very reasonable - They open at 6:30am which is earlier than other coffee shops CONS: - There aren't many outlets available - Lighting is a bit dark (which I realize is personal preference - I personally LOVE The Coffee Room in Newtown's bright lighting) - Food selection isn't huge and from what I understand, sandwiches are frozen and re-heated (I asked if I could put turkey bacon on a different sandwich and the owner told me that the sandwiches come ready-made.) Overall, I feel like the people there care a lot and provide excellent service. The coffee is great too. I might not go there specifically to work due to the lighting (darkness makes me a bit more melancholy / unproductive), but I realize this is a cafe and not set up to be a work environment. The coffee is high quality and if I wanted to come in specifically for a great cup of coffee, this place delivers. The last thing I'll say is while I was there, a lot of people referenced Michelle. Apparently she's very loved there. :)

I stopped in for the first time and enjoyed a hot latte. It was perfectly crafted! Balanced just right, not bitter. It was hot but not scorched. It was inviting and smooth and I enjoyed every drop.

Richboro Coffee is a new java house in the Mallard Creek Shopping Center in Richboro, Pa. It is on the small side with about a half dozen tables. The front of the room has a shiny copper roaster where all their Ethiopian, Kenyan and Costa Rican beans are prepared for brewing or sale. I sat down for a cup of their Ethiopian Sidamo, a muscular strong coffee that is great both straight up and with a little milk. It is definitely a wake up call to the senses. The alternatives this day were a Kenya AA milder bean, or a Costa Rican decaf. They can also be blended if desired. Service was friendly and informative. Josh, the owner's son, worked the new digital register for my credit card purchase and seemed proud to be part of this enterprise. Michelle, poured the Joe into a glass cup with room for milk, and offered to bring it to the table for me. Not handicapped, I did that myself, but appreciated the gesture. First sip alerted my tongue that a strong brew was on the way. By the time I was ready to depart, the caffeine had reached the brain, and I felt the welcome surge of focus and energy that only the freshest darker roast can provide. Exactly what I needed. Prices are reasonable for a custom roast/brew operation, at $2.25 for a regular cup; slightly more for extra volume. There were a few folks working at the tables while I was there, thus no shortage of seats for those who wanted to sit and sip at this time of day. Richboro Coffee joins other recently opened coffee houses in the area. The coffee competes quite well with that from Newtown's Coffee Room and Yardley's Pretty Bird Café. Each contributes in their own way to the upgrade of caffeine alternatives in the region, with Richboro seemingly with the best coffee, Newtown with the most comfort, and Yardley with the most variety on the menu. Fond of all of them. Refills are a buck.

From the lighting fixtures to the decor Flourish is both stylish and comfortable. The food is just as well thought out. Inspired by Eastern European flavors Flourish takes basic breakfast to an elevated experience. A bit pricy for daily breakfast but the flavors were a treat to experience. No pork products but the turkey sausage was just as satisfying and 4 long links in a side serving. I chose the garden skillet and swapped the over easy eggs for scrambled. He went for the Shakshuka. Both were not just served but presented beautifully on wooden boards. We had to try the Syrniki and were delighted. You aren't going to find over the top portions here, but the meals are satisfying and prepared with fresh quality ingredients. The berries on the Syrniki were huge, juicy and tasty. Flourish is not your daily breakfast spot but definitely one we recommend and will revisit on occasion.

From the street it has a really cool look and the inside leans into an industrial style with a great aesthetic. It's a comfortable space with a nice vibe. We ordered a couple of cocktails: a lemon drop and a Manhattan. Strategically we decided to split a Detroit-style pizza called the Iron Pig. Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. Looks like a fun place to hang out. It's definitely a place we'd consider visiting again.

They don't have server tunnel vision, they work as a team and it shows! The vibes are so cool here. I mean, if you're gonna open a cafe next to a scrap yard, you have to lean in to the theming. I love the vibes, I love the appearance. The food is amazing top to bottom. First, their coffee drinks are always spot hitting, partly due to the fact that they roast their own coffee beans on site. The cocktail menu is always enticing an even though I'm not a huge drinker, I'll be working my way around this. The breakfast options are plenty and if you don't get their bacon you are missing out! The lunch sandwiches are served on a house made ciabatta style bread. Packed with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies. Every ingredient is perfectly seasoned and added delicately, not just items slapped on a roll. The Detroit pizza is what initially drew me in. While they have some options with more toppings, I'd say go for some of the more simple Detroit pies to really allow the famous crust to really shine through. My personal favorite so far is the white pie they do with roasted portobello mushrooms. I have only been for breakfast and lunch but with all the craft beer options I need to go back for dinner to sit and relax with some friends and family!

Driving by simply delicious many times on York Rd. I have been curious. Today was the day curiosity finally killed the cat literally and figuratively. When you don't hear anyone talking about an establishment locally, that should tell you something - when I asked others about simply delicious. No one had even heard of it. Come to find out it's been an existence for quite some time. What is basically a glorified coffee shop simply delicious yarns to be a posh café/bakery. In reality it leaves a lot to be desired. From the moment we walked into the unfriendly faces. The semi tableservice, (order at counter and they bring it to you) the overpriced food, and the coffee/tea served in paper cups. This is definitely not a sit down place. More of a grab and go type of joint. The hungry man sandwich was served on brioche "toast" that was dry crumbling, and not at all sufficient to handle the weight of the sandwich. The sandwich itself was assembled haphazardly and lacked any real cohesion in both flavor and texture. The platter special consisted of French toast bacon sausage patties (house made) and eggs your way. Mine were scrambled and were decent enough. The bacon seemed high quality but could have cooked a bit longer. The house made sausage patties were overcooked and tough with more spice than I would have desired. The French toast was well soaked in the egg mixture and more than enough for a serving. Probably ranking high on the list of French toast I've had. However, I don't believe it is a staple of the menu. It was a special of the day. I would only really recommend simply delicious when the yearning for a good scone comes around. Either that if looking for a quiet place to sit and chat with an old friend over a scone and coffee - there isn't much of a crowd so it would be the perfect place to catch up. As for me, and he, not likely to return. Far too many other options locally, that have better ambience, food, prices, and most importantly people who are happy to see you and make you feel welcome.
