This is my neighborhood Starbucks and they are fantastic. Its always clean, friendly staff and the customers are nice as well. I go there at last three times a week so my rating is from various visit to the store. My only wish is they carried PSL year round. read more

But yelp exists to review single spots, so let me assure you, fellow Yelper, that there is nothing particularly wrong with this Starbucks location except that it doesn't have a drive through. This is not my favorite starbucks location. Most Starbucks staff are usually over the top bubbly, even in the morning (of course, I would be too if I had a constant flow of caffeine available to me at all times) For some reason at this location, it's like the baristas don't like coffee or something....just not very welcoming people as I have experienced in other stores. This starbucks on McClintic and southern fixed my venti blonde latte that I ordered from the starbucks on McClintock and Guadalupe. The barristers are friendly fun and professional fixing another stores problem. Twice the starbucks on McClintock and Guadalupe put sugar stuff in my drink. Not my favorite location. Stopped in this evening and had to wait about 10 minutes with only one person ahead of me. This is your typical Starbucks. Things you may want to know: steep driveway when entering plaza, no drive-thru at this location, next to gas station (in case you need to fill up, too), nearby Ross (in case you like to shop while you caffeinate). The employees at this Starbucks are predominantly women. They are all very friendly and pretty quick. This location has a pretty small inside area, but there is a pretty large patio to make up for that. Clean bathrooms and interesting trivia--basically your standard experience. As far as the coffee, I only really drink it black and unsweetened (hot or iced) but I can say that on rare occasions, it tastes slightly burnt. The people here are really nice, my coffee that I order through the app is always ready when I arrive and is always correct. They would be 5 stars except a lot of times when I get my coffee there's Carmel on the outside of the hot cup. It wouldn't be such a big deal but I worked at Starbucks and at least when I was working there it was a huge thing to my district manager that cups always look and feel clean. Now as a customer I understand this because it sucks not knowing it's there and having Carmel goo stuck in your car cup holder in the morning and it transferring to your hand and everything else, especially because I am not a morning person. read more

Long time sbux customer and gold card member for years. Spend $$ at sbux all the time. Bought cold brew in their reusable cup earlier. Passing by, stopped for a refill. Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

I am a huge Starbucks fan and this branch is right by my house. Since we have been quarantining very strictly since the beginning of March (due to the pandemic), Starbucks is one of the only locations that we go to other than remaining home. From all of our experiences, they have very safe practices, ranging from wearing face masks and gloves, to handing our drive thru orders by means of placing eat item in a dine-in mug and handing it through the window. The staff is always courteous and quick to fix any inaccuracies in orders. A few weeks ago, however, my credit card was left in their swipe machine. Since it's the only place that we go, when I noticed that my card was missing, I knew that it had to be there. When I went to retrieve it, they stated that it was in their safe. Regardless of having been in their safe, there were charges, forcing me to close that card and have a new one issued (which we all know means that I needed to then change my credit card information on all of my automatic pay accounts). I reached out to the store and they said that the only way that they would give it any attention is if I filed a police report. It was extremely dismissive and left me with an extremely bad taste, unfortunately! read more

Was waiting on patio for someone and was approached by security to ask if had a beverage from Starbucks. When I replied no, and was going to follow up with I am waiting for someone then I will be purchasing a beverage, I was shooed off the patio and told this is only for customers, mind you there was only 1 other person on patio. Needless to say I left and they did not get my business that day, nor will they ever again. read more

The coffee was awful (and I normally love Starbucks coffee) and the bathroom was abysmally disgusting. Worse than a gas station bathroom. Not the kind of filth from a morning of neglect but the kind of grey scummy buildup that only comes from weeks and weeks of neglect. Won't go back until they do something about the screaming lady with the stacks of paper. I understand she probably has some sort of mental illness. I have seen her in the location for years. She never use to bother me. But yesterday when I went she was screaming across Starbucks about cutting of hands, throwing away torsos, and ripping out teeth. I assume so people don't recognize the body. She was yelling really weird crap so loud I couldn't hear my drink called and waited like an extra 5 minutes for it. I mentioned something to the clerk, politely said maybe a manager needed to speak with her (the yelling lady) or figure out the situation because the stuff she was yelling was disturbing. The clerk, young brown haired girl that appeared to have coffee grounds on her lip, around 1130 am yesterday straight up shamed me and pretty much said I was a horrible person for even mentioning it. She said "that's Frannie she's been coming here for years" shook her head, and literally shamed me. I went to work and mentioned to my coworker what happened. She said she purposely avoids that location because is a distraction from her schoolwork. I don't like starting my day, or having my lunch break disrupted by hearing a screaming old lady talk about conspiracy torsos and scary R-rated things. Well I hope you don't mind all the business from parents and people who just want to relax. She is straight up loitering for hours unless she's the damn Starbucks on McClintock conspiracy torso mascot. Anyway, I tried to voice this to the clerk and was shamed, then I tried to call Starbucks to talk to the Manager and the phone number on the google maps was disconnected. Not a happy coffee drinker here. This place smell bad when you walk in to the door. Looks like they have never clean the floor. The place look OLD too. I was in a time crunch and needed a little caffeine to start my day. Drive-thru yeah! Well, if I would have noticed the long long long line in the drive-thru I probably should have opted to go inside or bypass all together. Well, I made it to my destination on time. But a bit stressed. My iced peppermint latte was just what I needed and it was soooooo good. If you don't know what Starbucks has to offer by now you've been living in a cave. If you're looking for something different Gold Bar is way better, and it's located in the same parking lot. I believe in supporting local joints first over huge corporations. If you want the same old thing Starbucks is great. This is my favorite Starbucks in Tempe. Over the past year they have hired some awesome baristas that are much more friendly than what's been around in years past. Plus, I love the trivia they have on the white board behind the espresso machines. It can get busy in there but it's a good mix of students, young professionals and older folks from the surrounding neighborhoods. Lots of patio seating as well. read more

They are very friendly and accommodating. The baristas know my order when I walk in and remember my name. Although a high school is nearby and it does tend to get packed after school. Definitely one of the better Starbucks I've been to. Be warned: there is no drive thru. read more

I might've given 5 stars a year ago. I've been coming here once a week for about 10 years. The service has gone downhill. Tables on the patio are locked together with cables overnight, due to theft, I assume. I "get" why they need to be locked at night. However, when I arrive in the morning, an hour AFTER they've been open, and week after week the tables are STILL not unlocked, and I STILL have to walk over cables to get to the front door, there is a management problem. I'm forced to sit inside, because the patio is unusable. Workers are often stocking the food case at 7 am and I often get, "be with you soon" as they continue to do what seemingly should've been done BEFORE opening. It is a new trend that common maintenance is being done in sight of customers, while customers WAIT, during a busy time of day. I hope management reads this and adjusts the timing of their morning duties, so customer service can become the focus, versus store maintenance. read more

I have been going to this Starbucks for 5 years. I have had trouble with them with the way they treat me within the last year. I complained to corporate about it and they started calling the police about my smoking habit. Of course the police do not care about this and the way the Starbucks Staff treats me had gotten worse. The last time I went there the coffee they poured me tasted funny and made my heart started to race and made me feel dizzy. I believe the staff poisoned me with cleaning chemicals.
