This is supposed to be a venti iced shaken espresso with vanilla cold foam. No foam and not even filled.

Friendly but my drink is crap. Sorry wasn't even busy. And it's a cafe store??? Lmao.

Staff is very sweet, good seating, it's got that "distant echo of a starbucks reserve" kinda energy

I had a Starbucks gift card that's been in my possession since Christmas and with an hour to kill before my set Saturday morning appointment a block away, in addition to my hunger pangs sorta kickin' in, the timing couldn't be more perfect. Iced matcha green tea latte was a given, but to grub... what to grub... impossible breakfast sandwich it is! The wait was surprisingly short given the semi-crowd waiting for their stuff. I was also surprised they knew my name without me giving it! (That was kinda weird... was it the app? My debit card, maybe?) My drink was refreshing as I expected. My food came out really hot. I've had impossible burgers and meals before and man, they really figured out how to give this patty that meat taste and texture. It gave off that frozen-heated-in-a-microwave/warmer taste, but wasn't too bad. FOOD: 4. SERVICE: 5. Staff was friendly and swift. VALUE: 3. Ten and change for the drink and grub. It's the usual Starbucks pricing. PARKING: Street - I didn't see a lot behind the block. Meter rates at $1/hr, so it's not a big deal at all. OVERALL: 4. I'm not really a Starbucks fiend, but the experience here was above average. One plus for me is that they're dog friendly. Although all the ones I saw were quick ins-and-outs (just enough time for their masters to order and get their drinks) staff and customers alike didn't mind their presence. Good first run. Will most likely come through again given the chance.

A shout out to Neil, Jordan, and Mia - these baristas are all super nice and always smile and say hi. They're also quick, efficient, and make great drinks. When I'm down, this Starbucks cheers me up. Plus, I love Neil's braids!

YEA!!! the LA cafe culture is NOT ur regular latte... they're desserts that spike ur blood sugar that we use the "coffee" as a guise for excuse. almond milk is healthy, duh. bad financial decisions mean trying all the homemade syrups and unique flavors combos and UGH CREAMY FOAMS??? the praline coffee was so hazelnutty and ugh i love toffee/caramel flavors. the brown sugar syrup added the perfect sweetness and they even had decaf YASSS (5pm latte). The snow matcha was also perfectly potent, smooth, and THE VANILLA FLAVOR DOESNT PLAY!! And don't even get me started on the SERVICE. the staff are INCREDIBLY SWEET and made me feel so welcomed i wanted to stay there forever. will be back to buy a latte instead of using EBT on food!! :P

Mike generously answered every question, was patient with a customer's old gift card, and adjusted a customer's matcha when she said it was too sweet. Like, I literally had to look up from laptop a couple times because I was overhearing him being awesome to people. I'm not just talking about courtesy and baseline customer service, which bosses make their employees perform. He was just as sweet to the Door Dash/Uber Eats couriers. There was no figurative "wall" between him and the customer. It all just seemed more personal and like he really wanted everyone to leave feeling good. I know I did. I was really, really cold the entire time I was there, but it's January and I'm in a skirt, so that one is on me. The music kinda sucked but I see no reason to dock a star for that.

Inside was clean, not too big but they have a few tables as well as some outside. They have a little patio area out front. They have different options on the menu besides coffee, like açaí and smoothies. I opted for their rose late which was on the specialty menu and chose almond milk. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the flavor of the coffee. There was no hint of rose at all. The coffee flavor itself tasted ok but when you advertise rose, you should get that prominent flavor shine through.

Ambiance: Inside has a bare and rustic feel to it, the rugs and the beautiful embroidered piece on the motorcycle inside feel so intentional. The natural lighting was beautiful and the exterior even matched. The seating is decent compared to the size and most people just picked up their drinks and left so that was not a problem. Drinks: We ordered the yala latte and the fig and vanilla matcha. The yala latte was delicious, sweet (but not too sweet), with a strong, smooth coffee flavor. The fig and vanilla matcha was the best matcha we've ever had. Once stirred, you get the delicious jammy flavor from the fig with the slight inclusions of some seeds and light pulp. The matcha was delicious and high quality as well. Overall the drink was our perfection with the balance of all the flavors and the aesthetic dried fig on top. Service: We got there around 3:30 on a Friday and the line wasn't too long. The line moved swiftly as they took everyone's order and got the drinks turned around fairly quickly. Overall: Yala stands out for its beautifully curated space and atmosphere and genuinely tasty drinks making it worth the hassle of parking and the typical LA crowd. The ambiance feels intentional and artistic without feeling overdone or too much, and the drinks, especially the fig and vanilla matcha are thoughtfully crafted and memorable in both flavor and presentation. Yala is the type of spot where you'd come back when you want something that is not only visually pleasing but genuinely well made. They have many other interesting options that we will be sure to come back and try.
