The drive through at this spot is typically very fast, the staff is very kind, gave my unhappy kitty a whip cream cup, and were very accommodating when I requested a less sweet drink. I normally shun mega-chain establishments in favor of local and regional businesses but SBUX is an exception for me. I personally love that I can get a good cup of steaming, consistently delicious, dark roast coffee just about anywhere including most places all over the world. The familiarity of that for me when traveling is very comforting and fights my sense of homesickness. However, when I am home, this is my local favorite mostly because of location but I also love that it is housed in a building that used to be a bank with a drive through that makes it convenient when I'm in a rush or when its freezing outside and I do not want to exit my vehicle for any reason. Other than that, it is similar to a standard SBUX store as far as offerings and amenities. It is in a popular location near Lake Calhoun so on most days by 8 am you can expect it to be fairly busy both at the drive through, in the parking lot, and inside the store. This is a really efficient and friendly Starbucks drive thru. I stop here for my favorite drink - grande nitro cold brew with pumpkin cream. Recently I was informed that the pumpkin cream is out of season so I have to settle for Irish cream which isn't as tasty but still does the job. The Starbucks nitro cold brew is unlike any caffeinated drink I've had before. It is so foamy, creamy and not one bit bitter. My go-to order is a grande vanilla sweet cream cold brew.Nothing gets you perked up quite as fast as a caffeine charged cold brew! This is a newer Starbucks about a half mile or so from Lake Calhoun. It was very crowded at 945 on a Thursday. There were 10 cars in the drive thru and the entire inside seating area was full. Cold brew coffee was good and service was quick when I went inside. The staff was very friendly and they were giving out samples of the Unicorn Frappuccino. It was not good. This place is probably jammed in the summer when people are out at the lakes, but manages the crowds pretty well. read more

It's much like other Starbucks but I've always felt it has a little more character since it used to be a bank and was converted very flawlessly into a tiny space with a distinctive drive-thru. All of the employees are incredibly friendly and packed up out meals nicely. They had no problem filling our somewhat fancy orders and always offered to give us a carrying tray for multiple coffees. So I feel the need to review a Starbucks. I normally do not frequent many of these shops, but this specific location seems to be on par. I used to have to come here often to get coffee for myself and others at the office where I used to work. I basically want to point out that this location has a drive thru! That really made me happy when I had to come here everyday for coffee. Places like Starbucks need a drive thru. It makes everything handy. Although, the drive thru fills up pretty fast, and you wait the same amount of time as if you were standing in line, but it does help a lot. Early in the mornings, the staff is a bit crabby at times, but that's like everywhere, except, I feel that because they work at a coffee shop, they feel that it is OK to give attitude.. I don't quite get it, but I guess it works. And I hate the fact that if you get a mocha or something fancier to drink they automatically put whipped cream on top.. wtf?? Why? I hate that. Really not something to complain about, but I don't see why they can't ask you first if you want it or not.. that is one of my biggest pet peeves.. I've also gotten a travel mug from this location too, and I use it everyday! I got it right after Christmas, so the $19.99 mug only cost me $4.99! I couldn't resist. It's Gold! I love gold! I've never stepped foot into this Starbucks, but I'm really a fan How is that possible, you say?! THEY HAVE A DRIVE THRU. This is my ultimate lazy indulgence when I'm driving to work in the winter and would still rather be catching Z's in my bed. I loved this Starbucks until a particular woman began working the register in the morning about 2 months ago. She is very sweet but very slow, and it's clear she's unsure about what she's doing. The line inside line is always backed up when she's there, and she always looks confused. She was not there last week for a few days, and the service efficiency was back to what it was before. I love this location!! I live nearby and for the last two months they have been supplying me with my daily caffeine fix. After about a week, they knew my order by heart (a tall non fat no whip iced mocha) and were extremely friendly and perky at 7 am. This is a pretty standard Starbucks. I'm almost positive it is a renovated bank. I could be wrong, but it seems like that especially in the drive-thru area. Kind of a cool re-do and I love that there is a drive-thru. I'm not a huge fan of Starbucks coffee, it is on the same level as Caribou for me. I'll drink it, but I don't prefer it. I do really like Starbucks breakfast sandwiches, they're not bad for price and are pretty large and incredibly yummy. Plus, they use cage-free eggs and the english muffins are never soggy: huge plus. The service here has been good every time I've stopped in. It's never been busy and my drink is always ready really quickly and everyone always has a smile. How inconsistent can your venti iced skinny hazelnut latte really be? (my girlfriends caffiene drink of choice) me? I started drinking 4 shots of iced espresso in Phoenix and whether at the SBUX( your new secret code for Starbucks- this is their trading symbol on NASDAQ-so now when you text "need SBUX?" get ready for the hi-jinx to ensue) Anyway......whether here in minneapolis, or in London I always order the same thing- So 1) some claim pouring espresso directly over ice "burns" it and can alter the taste- I don't buy it 2) your SBUX experience is altered mostly by the employees......and I give this location the a-ok rating and not higher not because they have been rude or inattentive to me-but check out how they treat each other- perhaps it's some intrasbux romantics gone bad - maybe there is some hierarchy that the drive thru crew can talk smack to the counter folk...however I have seen better "teamwork" at other locations.....saying this , there is a counter person , I do not know his name but has been there for a while and is awesome. 3) I dont understand the fascination with the drive thru- ....so park , order "old school" style...I guarantee it's faster. This Starbucks in an old bank building... both offer drive thru service, both collect cash... but only one rends the nectar of the gods! And this Starbucks does not disappoint in the rendering! The service is always friendly, they always get my drinks right, and...bonus... they have a drive thru. I am an avid Starbucks lover and discovered this place to be on my way to work. I typically hit the one by my house before i drive in. The staff at this location was very unfriendly on several occasions, even after i brought this to the attention of the manager. By unfriendly i mean i literally went through the drive through, ordered my drink, and when i went to pay had my card ready, and not one single word was uttered to me. Not a repeat of my drink, my total, or even a return comment after i said "Have a good day".
