Coffee was good but WARNING there is an overweight, rude, person of size barista working the cash register. Any questions regarding takeout orders will be met with the comic book guy from the Simpsons. Also do not ask where your order is! He will tell you (in Jabba's language, Huttese) that he "handed it off", but what he actually means is that it is sitting on the table. When someone says that they handed it off, you would think that he handed it to someone else, right? WRONG! So I asked him where it was and he said, in the rudest tone possible, "did you check the table?" Absolutely terrible service. Never coming back again to this Starbucks. read more

As a little update, I wish I could say it got better but recently it's been worse. The cleanliness has dropped a lot as well as service. Last time I went, the guy at the register was turned away from the register scrolling on his phone. His coworker had to call his name 3 times before he noticed us. I attempted to visit today but apparently they are closed after 11am according to a sign on the door? I even checked the hours on apple maps and on the starbucks app before going--both said that this location should be open until 9pm. I attempted to visit this location at my lunch hour (just before 1pm). The sign posted on the door said they close at 11am (??), but the cafe had people in it. REALLY unfortunate that Starbucks won't pay its employees enough to show up and have their basic needs met. I was a barista for seven years, so I understand the fast paced environment. I am left wondering when it suddenly became acceptable for a large animal to walk through a retail food establishment unleashed. I was enjoying my breakfast sandwich yesterday morning inside Frontenac Starbucks across from the pickup counter. Suddenly a huge Irish Wolfhound stuck its nose into my food. The owner had a rope over his shoulder, not attached to the animal. A 160 pound beast kept me from responding when the owner smirked and said, " I guess something smelled good to him". Until I can be sure of not being accosted by an unleashed animal, I will not return to this place. I am shocked none of the staff said anything to him. Is there a Corporate policy preferring wandering dogs to paying customers? Note: The dog wore no vest or identification as a service animal, and the owner was clearly not physically handicapped. read more

I appreciate my coffees so much and its rough when they cant get basic right, but THIS STARBUCKS has done it! they have a coffee master "Casper" who makes the best complicated drinks too! Generally, we like Starbucks, but have not been in a long time...except when at an airport. My wife and I dropped by and liked the open spaces (sofa is gone). I joined the club and now will get free refills on iced tea. My wife who has celiac was aggravated as they still have no gluten free items.... Really? You might be THE last chain standing who offers no GF items. She only was able to have the hot items, tea in this case. I ordered the white egg wrap and it was fine. Nothing to write home about, but for the price of less than $5, it was ok. I also had their chocolate chip cookie. It was outstanding! So, good and not so good for us. Starbucks will be here for a very long time, so come on, carry something gluten free. read more

This is one of the busiest Starbucks I have been to. Yet they are always as professional as possible. They are patient, knowledgeable and really aim to get you your drink as quickly as possible. Some days they are very backed up, but they respond if you approach them even if they are in the middle of making drinks. One time I ordered from the wrong location, and they figured it out and made it there without an extra charge. Today, for various reasons, they gave me my money back AND my coffee AND made it out of order so I could take it with me. They did this without my asking and without me needing to raise a stink. Old fashioned customer service at its best. Of particular note - the tall, bearded young man who seems to be in charge (very quick coffee maker) and the lovely person at the cash register. A good local coffee house experience! I love sponsoring the local businesses in our small town! They even knew my name when they handed me my decently priced drink. I tried a chilled water with 7.5 ice cubes. I would give it a 9.5/10 because of the very unusual after taste of flint. Brings me back to Michigan. Good water. I love this upscale Frontenac location (I'm being dramatic with the "upscale" statement) lol Anyway this "Bucks" is awesome simply because the decor, set-up and overall feel I get when I walk in just does something magical for me. It's next door to Froyo also; always a perk. No drive-thru but lots of seating in a variety of styles: stools, sofa chairs, window seats, group bar arrangement. FYI, the four stars is because they lack a drive-thru and when I'm in a hurry or its raining cats & pitbulls....I need a drive up option people! read more

This is my second favorite Starbucks in the area of South City and Mid county. First off, I believe all Starbucks are exceptionally decent. Never bad and never amazing. So what's left? I like this location because it's pretty large and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Additionally, it's staff is consistently friendly and efficient. The watch out - in the morning there can be an absolutely rush of local middle and high school kids. It's actually amazing to see how fast they serve all of them. But beware, it may be a little hectic and longer wait than expected. read more

I tried out this Starbucks last weekend on my way to an appointment at Saks. I ordered ahead since I had my baby with me and knew they didn't have a drive thru. This strip of businesses is always pretty busy so getting in and out of the parking lot can kind of be a pain especially lugging around a baby carrier. I waited at the pick up counter which they were a little slow making my mobile order. They don't greet you at all and didn't call out my drink they just put it out on the counter. I would probably only come back to this location if I'm in the area but without a drive thru and the hassle for not friendly service it's probably not really worth it. read more

This Starbucks has to be one of the worst in the St. Louis area. Every time I go here, and I mean EVERY time, they can NEVER make my drink how it's supposed to be made. Every time I order the iced caramel cloud macchiato, all I ever get is the foam and the ice!! There is literally NO espresso shot (there's supposedly supposed to be 2). The fact that they always mess my drink up aside, they're also VERY slow! Only two ppl ahead of you? Expect a 10-15 min delay. You can't even return your messed up drink here because you'll have to wait another 15 minutes to get another one, that will most likely be the same one you returned. This Starbucks and another have been my favorite during a recent "tour" of the ones in our area. There is spacious seating, and after a recent remodel the place is looking more modern. The employees here are among the best I've encountered at a Starbucks and the only negative about this location would be how it lacks a drive-thru, but that is something to take-up with the corporate Starbucks as opposed to this location. A forewarning: I loved Starbucks when I was younger. When the chain first hit STL every place was a converting *something* and as a result each shop had a unique atmosphere. Now it has become so cookie cutter I cannot stand it. Also, they had changed the roast of their coffee and after that they officially lost me. Today was a unique day though. I was on my way downtown to volunteer for Stray Rescue and I forgot to get coffee closer to my home. Frontenac was close and I was aware of a Starbucks, so I ate it and went it. I knew at 7:30 am it would be busy, so I expected to be late to my engagement... However, I was in that store in such a little amount of time, I don't remember the place very well. Yeah, the service was SO FAST despite the crowd. I was amazed. They had about 4-5 people working the counter, with 3 of them taking orders: 2 on the registers accepting payment while one was starting the orders while we were waiting. All employees I encountered were very friendly and I walked out with a smile and a decent cup of coffee. The service I got at the Schneithorst strip mall (is that how I spell it?!) was so awesome, I might give Starbucks a try again. First off, let me say that the staff here is awesome. I have never had a complaint about a drink. It's like they all went to a Carnegie course because they remember my name and they are pretty fast considering the volume. I'm not a fan of the atmosphere or clientele. People stand in the way of the logical pathway to the order station. The area to wait for your drink is overcrowded. Received a postmates to order/ pick up from this location. Went 10 min out of my way to order from here, only to arrive & the door is locked with no explanation to why. I understand they are probably cleaning but i've seen over a dozen people walk up and try to open the door to just walk away confused. There is no note explaining why, and they won't answer the phone when i can literally see them in there. Result, i had to cancel my delivery & miss out on money.
