IT'S NOT DECAF! Do not trust these people to give you decaffeinated coffee. Yesterday, I tried to order a half-caf like I've done at every other Starbucks I've visited: half regular coffee and half decaffeinated coffee in one cup. Simple concept, right? I had to explain this three times, and instead of saying this wouldn't be possible, they just said, "Okay," and proceeded to give me a full, caffeinated 12-oz coffee and lied about it. As a result, I could not sleep until dawn today, I had a massive migraine from the sleep deprivation, and I missed out on professional obligations because of how wrecked my brain was from the lack of sleep. Slipping someone caffeinated coffee isn't a minor inconvenience! You are potentially causing them health problems and lost income. If a store doesn't want to provide decaf or half-caf, that's their prerogative. But I find it sick that they would lie straight to my face. As a customer, I should be able to trust that I'm getting what I bought. I will never come back to this location. read more

So, I think all the reviews I have seen are a little harsh considering the location of this particular Starbucks. The wife and I stopped here during our trip up the PCH last summer and we had no issues. The staff was friendly and in fact the barista made a drink for me in a hot version that is usually only sold cold. I loved my drink, the staff, and the outdoor patio space was even decent, again for the location. We've stopped at this Starbucks locations several times over the years while running up and down the 101 to the Bay Area. The last time was early this week. We didn't need gas, so we hadn't stopped in Salinas. Dear Hubby was driving and needed something cold to drink and some sugar, and this came up as a logical option for a quick stop. He went in to order while I stayed in the car. They do have a drive-thru, which we might normally use. Noting that if you are just passing through, and not familiar with this area of town, there is a shopping plaza with various stores and fast food or fast casual restaurants. The only access to the freeway is on the northern end. There no freeway entrance going south from the shopping center. I'm starting to be all about Pumpkin Spice Latte Frappuccinos, now that they have debuted for the (early) fall season. The barista here made a good one for us. Definitely refreshing, and good change from some of the other flavors that we can fall into a taste rut with over the summer. read more

Me and my mom came in and ordered two drinks. The cashier was helpful but the drink maker was not and also rude. Her name was Kylie. Three guests got their drinks before us and ordered after us so we asked and Kylie snapped at my mom. She tried to butter her up by making the drink immediately and tried my mom's quality expectations. We were thoroughly unimpressed with the service. Got there a little after noon. The place was empty. They were cleaning tables. I ordered through the app and got my drink right away. Next thing, there was a steady stream of people who needed the restroom. Thank you, Starbucks, for having a restroom. I also ordered ice coffee with a splash of coconut milk at the counter. As a black female traveler, I feel like it's necessary to share my perspective on my experience at a well-known coffee shop. so when I arrived, I asked my daughter whom is biracial to sit while I go and decide what tea I wanted because I technically already had coffee, but I have some time so to study and just sit and maybe drink tea. I believe the people (some ) in this town are not kind to black people maybe it's because of how they could feel about my daughter and I but its culturally different because I'm getting nasty glares from Latin women (Mexican women ) not all of them are mean but some of them giving me a nasty look but in particular the cashier was nice like she was kind of cool. She let me figure out what I wanted to buy but then I noticed another woman with a headset who's watching me as if I'm shoplifting or something I'm still taking my time and ironically her and I run into each other at the bathroom now I know for sure she's not just working this girl is watching me. I would just say be open minded about the potential negative energy that you may experience while getting coffee and traveling but overall the other employees are nice. It was just one worker that seem to be harassing me. I'm gonna give some love, or at least like, to this Starbucks. First, it opens at 4:30 AM, and for a poor sleeper line me, any coffee better than ARCO before 6 is a miracle. Second, the staff was friendly and quick, even while doing all the stuff to open the shop. Third, it's a bargain price for California. While I am not a real coffee fan I can appreciate the convenience and variety Starbucks offers. This location can get busy for the drive thru service depending on the time of day. They have some great breakfast sandwich and pastry options, though I find their prices are a bit high for the quantity of what you get. Good location in the highway. Certainly seem busy with people inside and a very active drive-thru. Two restrooms are available but look like the rest of the store, working but could use some sprucing up. Maybe I caught this store after the pressure of the holidays and increased traffic. I come to this Starbucks often, and they ALWAYS make my drink wrong. But this particular experience today was just really bad. I ordered two tall ice coffees. One with half and half and the other with Oat milk, followed by classic syrup for both drinks. (Classic syrup is always added in ice coffee unless the customer asks for no classic syrup. I know this because I used to work for Starbucks several years ago). When the Starbucks employee took my order via drive through, I also asked her for classic syrup to be added to both drinks just in case they forget to add it. I thought by emphasizing on adding the classic syrup, they would make my order, right ? WRONG ! After paying and getting both drinks, I tasted one of them and the taste was off. Immediately, I asked for classic syrup because there wasn't any on either drink. Not only that, but whoever made my drink used "half and half" and not oat milk for one of the drinks like I had asked. I understand that sometimes drinks get made wrong. However, my orders from this Starbucks have been made wrong several times now. It's becoming annoying to have to ask for classic syrup on the side when ice coffee comes with it by default. Picture below didn't have oat milk or classic syrup. Instead of saying I can charge you for a Trinity and give you perhaps 2 small cups she gave me the smallest cup. When I received my order the only thing she said, was we been out all day. Then why not get some larger cops from your sister store instead of giving customers the smallest drinks all day?? Or figure out the fluid ounces so your customers would get a larger drinks by giving 2 to 3 small cups. Or the large hot cup with a small cold cup? Stop being below average . Expectations are higher at Starbucks bring Starbuck standards when you chose to meet Starbucks standards and receive a higher rating. The place was pretty chill and only a few people were inside, so waiting in line was pretty short. Our vanilla latte was pretty standard (love that Starbucks is great at keeping consistency at any location). The woman & man restroom were clean (this was essential a pee stop for us and decided to grab coffee since we did not get much sleep the night before). This place needs a really good cleaning. In the patio area to start. There are spider webs galore along the windows plus all glass needs to be cleaned. The floors look as though they haven't been swept or mopped for a long time. The restroom walls, floors, trash bin, sink, etc are filthy. I walked in to use restroom and then buy a drink. I feel bad for the staff. There's just too many customers for them to manage at any given time. I always stop in Soledad on my way north because it is about half-way. I love the Goodwill and stop there to use the facilities and shop. This time upon my return south I stopped and realized I needed more than a walk around Goodwill to make me less sleepy. So, I ordered (and paid for) an Iced Mocha with an extra shot of espresso and 3 extra pumps of chocolate. What I got was a pale imitation of a regular iced mocha. I am not sure there was any espresso in it at all it was that tasteless!! They definitely didn't add any more chocolate sauce because it would have been darker. Cheerful and pleasant people here make interaction a pleasure. However there is nowhere to set your drink in the bathroom. When I ordered a drink, I requested "light ice" and it even said that on the label on the cup. It came with heavy ice - and when I asked why, the barista said "I don't really trip out on ice". I told him I didn't like ice and since I was the customer, my concern mattered more than his. He shrugged and walked away.
