I went to Starbucks this morning again and thought it was going to be different but it wasn't, my mother and girlfriend both wanted Iced drinks and we said that when we ordered. We got to the window and the lady tried handing me a hot drink even though I didn't ask for it, and after that she said could you pull up to the front. So not only did you mess up my drink but now I have to wait longer because you messed it up. I don't know why but this location always messes up my drink. read more

I tried out this Starbucks in Shawnee today for the first time. I was greeted quickly and the only person in line though the drive thru was busy. The barista was nice and I ordered a London Fog with oat milk. I sat down at a small table near where the orders come out to wait and I waited and waited. The barista had not put my order in or maybe printed out the label. There were other customers who had come in after me and it took quite some time for them to get their drinks as well even though theirs were entered into the system. I think the drive thru is a main priority. Finally another barista asked about me and I said what I was waiting for and he got it and apologized. I moved to a high table and enjoyed the London Fog which was good. The ambience is casual and what you would expect from a Starbucks with lots of customers going in and out. I would probably try it out again because the London Fog was good but ensure that they got the order in the system. read more

The employee was asked to write the name CHARLIE KIRK on the order as tribute to the young speakers name. The employee refused to write the name stating it was not allowed. The company as a whole has made it a public announcement that they are not to restrict or deny a customer from requesting a specific name even if it's Charlie Kirk. This location has no respect for their customers and no respect for a person who died because of what they had to say. I go to this location more than I should and the employees are great. Tuesday I forgot my phone, which is how I pay. The employee said she could give me the receipt and I could add my points by scanning receipt I tried and could not find a way to do it. I googled how to do it and it said not possible to do it. So I stopped at Starbuck's and was told not possible to do. I lost my points on over a $14. order. This is the 2nd time I was told this. First time I forgot to do. To say the least, not a happy camper. I pass 5 other coffee places on my way to work. And some of those I only need to give my phone number to get my points. I do want to say the employees I dealt with were nice and apologetic. read more

The only problem I have with this location is that the drive-through is very small so during high traffic peak times the bottleneck that it creates it's awful now that the negative thing is out-of-the-way the service is always first class, and my drinks are always made to perfection. On the rare occasion that my order was wrong this location always correct it and gives me a free drink. No questions ask. read more

I get that maybe at this Starbucks location the regular baristas are all sick and they had to hire a bunch of new people who have no idea what they're doing ... but the two other Starbucks I've been to lately have given great service and my drinks were delicious. That's why I don't understand why this one keeps getting it wrong. This time both lattes were so watery that they might as well have been regular (weak) coffee with a little soy milk. The drinks resembled nothing remotely close to a latte. They tasted so horrible that they were undrinkable, and I had to pore them down the drain. To make matters worse, the manager will NOT correct wrong drinks or refund money. I'm done with this store. read more

While this isn't the location physically, the team running it make it great. They always have smiles on and are very quick with getting your order to you. Like most locations, they do suffer from the afternoon rush but they do offer the order ahead option. It's very convenient and a good idea to try out if you haven't! read more

I don't normally write reviews for massive chains like Starbucks where every location looks exactly like the other and where quality isn't always a top priority--but this Starbucks location is pretty great. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to catch up with friend for coffee, and I was surprised by how...mellow this place was. Most coffee shops--whether it's the crappiest chain, the best local cafes, or Starbucks--are packed to the brim on the weekends. Especially during this time of the year when exams and finals are just around the corner and every student, K through PhD, flocks to coffee shops to feed their caffeine addictions. But this particular Starbucks isn't like that at all! The drive-thru seems to receive heavy traffic, but inside has a calming serenity to it. Small groups of people huddle around high-top, low-top, and desk-style tables, but there's enough space and solid enough acoustics to where you can't eavesdrop on everyone else's conversation...and where everyone else can't eavesdrop on yours. You know those places. Those crappy, crappy, first date places where EVERYONE in the room can hear every word and awkward silence. Yeah, this place is the complete opposite of that. They've also got some decent souvenirs, and my friend was able to pick up an awesome coffee mug that has an African Elephant embroidered on it. A bit pricey, but it was definitely a piece of art and a high quality coffee mug. Another weird thing to note: apparently that same weekend was a buy-one, get-one free day for the holiday menu items that was supposed to go on all week, but the lady working the cash register didn't know about it at all. My friend had to go to battle (a kind-worded battle, though) with the cashier lady to get his free coffee. I find it a bit odd that they hadn't heard about a pretty important sale that was going on. TL;DR: Finally, a place to drink warm coffee on a cold day...FAR, FAR away from the university hoodlums and packrats that typically occupy coffee shops. Don't get me wrong, it's still your typical Starbucks. But it's got a difference ambience and quietude than the rest. I feel compelled to Yelp this particular Starbucks because it's my favorite one in the Kansas City area. It has provided the best environment for studying, out of all the ones we have been to. It has a relatively large dining area, and seating is never an issue. Interestingly, this location seems to be pretty quiet because it's rarely crowded. In my experience, anyway. The staff is always staying busy and during the last visit, we scored free drinks. For some reason. That's all I have to say. Oh, it has outdoor seating, and a drive-thru. I say that because you know how you look for the nearest Starbucks on your phone, then you drive there and find out either it doesn't have a dining area, or it's inside a dang grocery store? Drive-thru, as per usual with Starbucks, is only one lane that wraps around the building (ie, once you're within the bounds, you're trapped). Today the line was out into the street behind the Starbucks. I waited in the line for 14 minutes before I got to order; by the time I ordered, I was informed they were out of peppermint. The peppermint mocha is my one "cheat drink" per week. I ordered a regular mocha but let the cashier know they might consider writing on the board out near the ordering board to let folks know what they're out of. That way they'd know before spending more time in a line they can't escape. She got fairly snippy with me, telling me how busy they were and they only had a few people working. Not impressed. Sorry, but most of us are working with fewer resources and more stress right now. I wasn't expecting (nor did I receive) a discount of any sort, just hoped for more of an acknowledgment that it's unfair to trap people and it'd be nice to know what they're out of upfront. This is my first time being at this location and it is so different then the other locations the set up is very modern but at the same time welcoming and comforting. The service is incredible and very friendly. I just had an almond milk latte and it was flawless. I felt like I was at a local coffee shop rather then a Starbucks. The only downfall is most of their tables are high tables so it makes it difficult if you have a baby however I didn't knock any stars for that because for those without babies that would not be a concern. read more

Without doubt the most unfriendly Starbucks I have visited. Walk up to the register and the young lady just stares like she was being bothered. Usually within a Starbucks, once your drink is completed, either your name or type of drink is announced. Not here, thinking it was awhile since I had ordered, went to the counter and there it was. I've been to this new Starbucks location twice now, both after getting groceries at the Price Chopper in the same parking lot. The first time was VERY soon after they first opened and my experience was great. No wait in the drive-through and I used a free birthday drink reward on my Starbucks card for a trenta unsweetened iced black tea. The girl at the window was very upbeat and attentive and offered me a free sample of a breakfast sandwich--yummy! Then I came here a second time last week with my friend. Not quite the same experience. I drove through again but this time we waited quite awhile behind the woman in front of us and assumed she was placing a very complicated order or something--then it was our turn to order. My order: one grande iced coffee with caramel, cream and sugar and one venti iced coffee with sugar-free caramel, non-fat milk and splenda. The girl seemed extremely confused and asked if I wanted classic syrup in the venti in addition to the sugar-free caramel...I've never been asked that question at a Starbucks before (and I've placed the EXACT same order probably 100+ times) so I said no...then she asked me to repeat the first drink again, again asking the same question about the classic syrup and then asking if that one needed sugar-free caramel also or regular. I (very politely) repeated both drink orders for the 3rd time to make sure she understood everything. We pulled up to the window and she handed me both coffees...my friend's looked fine but mine was completely black...apparently she completely left out the non-fat milk I ordered. At this point I didn't want to confuse the poor girl any more so I just drove home and added milk myself. I haven't been back even though this is the closest Starbucks to my apartment because I'm worried she'll be working again. Hopefully they step up their training soon. read more

i used to go to this starbucks a lot because it was the only one open after 10 that wasn't the starbucks on main or on the plaza and those starbuckses intimidate me because everyone there is far wealthier and busier and more valuable to the local community than lil ol me but then this starbucks changed its hours and closes at the regular time though i still go to it when i'm in kansas it is kind of cold inside no matter what time you come in or what the weather is like but there is a tiny area with chairs outside where you can sit and watch house hunters on netflix if you have a phone or laptop really this starbucks is the perfect place to watch house hunters except sometimes the starbucks starts playing music outside and then the pf chang's next door starts playing other music and then the musics must battle to the death as it is written in the law and you get caught in the crossfire but i will always have a soft spot for this starbucks because it is always empty when i go there and sometimes they are getting ready to close but they are always friendly and never treat me like a nuisance and that is the way to a girl's heart i'll tell ya that much read more

One of the best Starbucks because of the cashier. He was fast, efficient and sarcastically funny. You can tell he has delt with a variety of clients before and knows the system well. The orders came out quick and pretty standard, but that's Starbucks. Didn't get a chance to sick around the location but would think it would be quite comfortable for a Saturday afternoon. read more
