They have great baristas! My orders have always been accurate and made quickly. This is why I keep coming back.

Since it's been a while I gave it a new try...Just when I didn't think it could get worse. I experienced the WORST service I've ever experienced here at night no less, with all of 2 cars in the drive through. After waiting 5+ minutes to even order I had to repeat each drink multiple times - I get the masks make it hard but the guesses weren't even close - after finally ordering all 3 drinks and waiting to pay I had every intention to verify any miscommunication but I got short commands instead of the communication I expect. So I said nothing and did as I was told. However after trying to pay 5 times and it taking so long between attempts that I had to roll my window down, get my phone back out etc every time without any communication except "again" was beyond annoying, yet I figured she was new and didn't say anything. Not to mention my card had plenty on it to scan and the drinks were waiting and getting cold in the mean time. Finally she asked her manager to step in to figure it out and instead of addressing any miscommunication she refused to give me my drinks while she lectured me. I have never had a manager take it upon herself to blame a customer (who didn't say anything and was trying to accommodate) but to also withhold something completely paid for to keep me from leaving as her mask came off and she spoke over my drinks during COVID seems unsanitary at best. I refuse to use this location! They are nasty at best and slower than molasses on a good day. read more

I will forever have a deep connection with this Starbucks. On the morning of August 21, 2017, just moments before witnessing the start of the Totality of the famous once in lifetime Oregon Solar Eclipse, they pumped me up after a sleepless night in my car in the park with a strong black coffee. The power of that coffee propelled like an asteroid over to Willamette University next door to meet with some of the most world renowned solar scientists including a career NASA solar expert for the Space Shuttle missions who took me under his wing for the length of the Eclipse. It was an incredible morning! But my connection with this Starbucks did not stop there. After the Eclipse, I returned and coffee d up again, sat down with my maps and weather charts, researching the next direction of travel, and that cup help propel me on zero sleep from the night before all the way over to the Oregon Coast finally settling down for the night in Florence. I thank everyone at this Starbucks for helping to make my Solar mission possible that day. I am eternally grateful. read more

I come here all the time and usually it's great. If you get here prior to eight the drive-through line is reasonable and people are friendly and nice. However, today is the third time that I've come in between eight and nine in the morning and the drive-through line was so long that I actually went in. It's also the third time that they've messed up my drink and I've had to remind them that I ordered a drink. People who came in after me without a mobile order got served because the barista's knew them. It's taken over 15 minutes each of those 3 times. So, I would recommend for the fastest and most accurate service, don't come during the morning rush. read more

Great service and a franchise model that seems to successfully translated into both decor and personality. The staff has always authentically pleasant and swift for me. Today the coffee just seems a little better and tastes like coffee. Generally I have to add two shots. Sometimes the music it's too loud for thinking and talking so it might be played according to how the staff are thinking rather the the customer perspective. But I usually put my headset on cuz I prefer my band's music. I actually avoided local Starbucks for a local coffee house but discovered this is better. So much for hating on franchises. The fish rots from the head down and this Starbucks has solid management. read more

I'm not a huge Starbucks fan, but I've stopped here several times because of the convenient location, and I have to say it's the best service I've had. There's usually a full staff, so not a long wait time, and there's a spacious indoor/outdoor areas to sit and enjoy your drink. read more

I love this Starbucks! The staff is always professional and friendly, the inside is always the same temperature whether it's February or July, and the outside seating area is kept very clean there are plenty of places to sit and have a lonely cup of coffee and enjoy a newspaper. The real value in Starbucks isn't the coffee (it is really good though), the real value is having a place to sit and enjoy the sights and smells of a comfortable coffee shop. I know it's corporate, but this Starbucks especially feels like a neighborhood coffee shop where people go to hang out with other people like them. If you're in downtown Salem looking for a cup of coffee, this is worth the extra walk. read more

But the fact is they succeed by providing a good quality product at a decent price with awesome customer service. The Starbucks on Church Street is simply phenomenal and The employees are great. This is my regular starbucks...They are always very friendly and efficient at this location. They are normally pretty busy during the day though. I order my drink ahead of time using my app and it is ALWAYS ready and waiting when I get there. Had the Creme Brulee latte today and it was delicious. read more

Service is good- but not super friendly. I always say "thank you" for my beverage at the pick up counter (inside, not drive through), and have never been acknowledged. I go there multiple times a week so it is not isolated to a specific day or staff member. Would be nice to at least be acknowledged. Drinks are generally made well/correctly. read more

Decided to try this newest Starbucks at Church St. On the edge of downtown. At 10 AM it was crowded and very noisy. Obviously the new design is meant to have almost a loud party atmosphere. Both my friend and I had our drink orders totally messed up. They had one person making indoor drinks, and one or two on drive-thru. There were 4 more employees standing around the register and food case. I felt sorry for the sole indoor barista. No wonder drinks got confused--even with an ID sticker on the container. No employee was straightening the stools at the high top small tables nor cleaning them. Move'em in and move'em out. Great location for a drive-through however. Give me more comfort, less noise, and a correct order. read more

The Starbucks has a good environment and great service, however the line has an odd formation in that it wraps around the store.

I like this store but one of the baristas (guy with short dark hair) is so snarky it can be really off putting. Might just do drive thru from now on or go to the DT location. read more

Ordered online and when I arrived I was completely ignored and told my order wasn't ready and they "didn't see it" but "will start it later" and then they completely disregarded me. Another girl asked if I had an online order and the first worker cut me off before I could explain. I was already annoyed and I saw people coming in, ordering, and getting their stuff before anyone would talk to me about where my order was. Finally spoke to another girl and told her I had ordered over 30 minutes ago and had been waiting in the store, only to find out my order had been sitting there the entire time but since no one bothered to ask me about my order or even acknowledge me, my food went cold. I get it they were busy but they were so completely rude to me and didn't even bother to look and see my order was literally sitting behind them and instead chose to tell me they hadn't even started it yet. I thought the point of ordering online was to have your food ready when you get there to be in and out quickly, not sit there for 10 minutes while they take on more and more orders while mine sits there getting cold. I've worked in customer service so I know bad service vs being busy when I see it. read more

Service is not so great at this Starbucks - very slow and more focused on the drive through than the in-store customers. In its favor, the location is convenient to Willamette University, the Capitol and downtown Salem. read more

I am a former Starbucks partner, and I can truly say, this is by far the best Starbucks in Salem! The baristas are friendly, and truly are interested in making your day. The manager, Misty is running a tight ship, while maintaining a welcoming and creative atmosphere! Mar, John, and Madeline are always attentive to what I am waiting for... I feel like I get to visit some friends before work every day, but that they are conscience of my time, and are quick at filling my order. read more

This location on the weekends can never get a caramel macchiato correct. The only modification I ask for is "light on the caramel drizzle" and for some reason it never is light and only tastes of caramel. I am tired of paying $5 for a cup of caramel. I have given up on this location to get my drink correct. read more
