In any other world, this would be a sprawling Starbucks (#1) with a bunch of people lined up day in and out. But instead, Bentley's is a local Oregon chain, and a cheeky one at that with their fun drink names and Gen Z bold message decor. But what about the coffee? It's similar to the service, which is very good. The seating, at least inside, is somewhat minimal. There's plenty of space, which I can only deduce was a deliberate move for aesthetic reasons but also works for if there is a pooling of waiting coffee goers due to services slowdowns. The latter is somewhat true though, they're not the fastest or the most thorough (#2) but they get the job done. My drink of choice for now is their white chocolate kahlua cold brew. It is a little sweet but also potent enough to get that boost. Their smoothies are also popular and are the perfect summer treat. That strawberry smoothie with the parfait style whip is a nice choice and quite IG friendly as well. Most of the drinks are in the $6.50 for a large range and tend to be on the sweeter side. Parking, depending on how busy downtown might be, could be an issue here. I think Bentley's is best reserved a stroll nearby and finishing off the drink(s) while people watching from their outdoor table setup. I was pleasantly surprised coming here! When visiting Oregon we weren't sure about this place thinking it would be a basic coffee chain. We were very blown away by how good the coffee & flavors were! I have been so excited to try a local coffee shops throughout Salem! I saw that this location just opened in downtown, so I had to give it a try while shopping in the area. Immediately the staff greeted me and were very friendly. I found a couple "secret menu" items on their instagram, which were the Lavender Lemonade and the Cotton Candy Cremosa. To my surprise, they were both carbonated! I wasn't expecting either drink to be sparkling, but it was perfect for the summer heat. The drinks weren't too sweet and the flavor was refreshing. The lemonade even had little sprigs of lavender - so cute! The coffee shop has very modern and simple decor that is welcoming for studying or coffee dates. They have outdoor seating that they limit to 1 hour as well (probably due to COVID-19). I have to come back and try their coffee sometime! read more

I've been to this location a couple times before and I always enjoy coming back for a visit. I like the warmth of the inside when ever I visit. The baristas are always friendly and helpful. Today,upon drinking our coffee there was a customer who accidentally didn't get the drink that he ordered, one of the nice baristas took the right drink,outside into the cold,to try and make sure that he got what he ordered. Loved my first visit here today! The barista could not have been nicer! Genuinely friendly and welcoming. Big shout-out to her awesomeness. I had the Nutella blended coffee and it was delicious. Their menu of other coffee drinks, milk shakes, protein shakes etc. looks super fun. Can't wait to return and try other items. They have a very limited food menu (bagels, oatmeal, yogurt parfait) which all sound healthy and light but if you're looking for a warm breakfast type item (I sorta was), then no. BUT, those treats are probably better for me anyway. They have some outside dining tables and the place looked spotlessly clean. Stopped and bought drinks just so my kid could use the bathroom. They refused and we're rude about it. I love Bentleys and have frequented their drive-through, but came to this location yesterday for the first time and had a 20 minute wait before they even took my order and then the drink was wrong, and then today this poor experience makes me feel like maybe this location just isn't for me. read more

Seating is extremely limited, tables are microscopic, not a good place if you want to work on your laptop for a bit. They had three bagels to choose from at 7am and no butter, no sandwiches. Pretty sure I'll never be back - Isaac's is down the street and offers sandwiches (not just bagels) and has lots of spacious seating. read more

This used to be my favorite Bentley's location. Their restroom was always open to paying customers and I myself am a loyal customer to this location and the one on Misson street. When I went in and bought drinks and asked to use their bathroom - which by the way was vacant and had no signage on it saying not available for use, I was told they were "employee only" now and this change was made 4 months ago. I've been to this location and used the restroom in the last 4 months so clearly I was lied to by this gentleman. I went specifically to buy drinks and use the restroom and when I told him that I needed to use it urgently and it was the only reason I came in, he just told me other places to go instead. VERY disappointed and will definitely not be going out of my way to go to Bentley's anymore. If you want your bathroom to be EMPLOYEE ONLY maybe put a sign on it. I was told "too many bad things are happening in there" what does this have to do with me? Everyone has to suffer because of a couple people.. if this change was made 4 months ago why is there no sign? I'm sure they get lots of people asking to use it, does everyone else get turned away too? I'm a transgender person and safe bathrooms are hard to come by and this was incredibly frustrating to be turned away, especially as a paying customer!!! read more

I had order a 24oz Dirty Chi Tea with almond milk (Chi Tea with espresso) on 01/16/23. The chi tea had a very strong spice, powder, as well as being very sweet taste, the second sip of the drink, conformed the drink was something that I would not drink. I stopped at the store a passed on 399 COURT ST NE Salem and explain the issues with the drink to the barista. The young lady was unwilling to assist me with a replacement or remake, she told me that she can throw the drink away, I replied "I paid too much for this drink just to throw it away and to around and buy another drink." "So, what I am gathering I will need to drive back to the store I purchased the drink at to have it corrected. She replied, "Yes more less." All since the drink was purchased at Lancaster Dr SE store. I told her you can touch the cup and feel that that drink is still hot. She reached out to touch the cup and then turned her to her co-worker and repeated what she had already stated to me. I stood at the counter for total of 10 minutes talking with her before I told her I must go before I am late. Then and only then did she offer to try and do something, I said no thank you must go now. Is how customer service is when there is a problem with their order? Yes, I did drink back over to the Lancaster store and told them about Court St customer service. I could full understand if had the drink place into a reusable cup. 2 days later I receive a response from the manger or GM asking: Thank you so much for taking the time to write us about this issue. If we are unaware of an issue we are unable to fix it, so we appreciate you letting us know. May I get a few more details about the situation? Would you be able to tell me the day and time you visited the downtown location? Also a description of the girl you talked with? It has been 5 days since the last communication and total silence. That same day I provided the requested information and silence. It's as if the work is being rewarded for unprofessional behaviour with customers. Poor customer service! read more

Was my favorite place but left my debit in the reader. I tried to call to check couldn't find a number on google. When I went to go in the store only a day later at the most two days later. She went back and looked after saying yes they have a few ids asked my name. She asked how long ago since I had left it. I said what I stated above she goes back and looks a second time. When she comes back she said it was thrown away and they would probably throw it away if they found it in the future. Maybe have a number to call or keep them 72hrs not try to play off the fact they were thrown away before a sufficient time passed. I don't really think it's security measure it actually sketches me out more it's thrown in the garbage was it shredded it's a lot easier to keep them in the past Friday when they come in with them this is pretty ridiculous I don't think I'll be back unless something is noted and this won't happen again anyone else. read more
