I went to Starbucks today around 2:30pm, and came across a rude caucasian server. I politely asked for a straw, not noticing she was busy cleaning a machine because it is loud there. She proceeded to roll her eyes, turn off the machine, and then gave me attitude when I asked for a straw. She gave me a straw, but when I turned around she started talking about what had happened, loudly, to another employee. I could very clearly hear her making me out to be an inconsiderate costumer to her coworker who proceeded to laugh at the situation. Frankly, not only did I not appreciate being depicted as someone who I am not, but I am also appalled at how I was treated today, considering Starbucks prides themself on excellent customer service. read more

Located on campus so its a great place to stop by before you pull an all-nighter at Orbach. It's also built in the same building as Scotty's which is a convenient store + fast food/cafeteria place. There's parking across from this store which is located in the same parking lot as Lothian. I think it's great that there is an extra coffee spot in addition to the coffee bean on campus. I prefer Starbucks (I have no idea why...marketing?). There are often a lot of students that come here to study and socialize so it can be packed sometimes. The line can also be very long at sometimes so time it right or else you could be waiting 10 minutes more for that pumpkin spice latte. read more

Updated Review: honestly the people working during the covid pandemic are the nicest people I've ever met. I probably went there more than what I usually do during non-covid times. The employees are able to get to know the customers since there isn't a lot of people living on campus. They even memorized my order. Keep up the good work! Located off of Lot 13 and near student housing, this Starbucks is in a prime location. It is also in conjunction with the Market at Glen Mor, which makes it a super easy swing to grab your lunch on the go. You can park in Lot 13 (with a valid student permit) and walk over, or there is complimentary 20 minute parking at the front for super quick purchases. Pros: the interior is clean, well kept, and spacious. Window panels are ceiling to floor, providing ample natural lighting, and there are plenty of tables. The furniture is sleek and natural, and not (yet, at least) grimy. Floor outlets are also a huge plus for when you decide to stay here and do work! There is also a fair amount of outdoor patio seating as well. Service is very friendly, and they walk around with free samples very often, usually during the afternoon when there is more of a crowd. Internet wise, I was able to still connect to campus wifi just fine. Cons: there is no Starbucks rewards system in place here, though you can still pay with your electronic passbook if you have one (and you can get stars). Mainly, this also means, no (free) refills, a big let down for those intense study sessions. Also, if you get a water, they will charge 5 cents for the cup, whereas in my experience at other Starbucks, I have never been charged before. All in all, I will definitely come back, since it is so close to campus, spacious, and clean. good walk from campus and there is 45 min free parking by it. during non covid times it is a great place to study inside and out. one thing to note is that they DONT accept stars meaning you can't redeem a free drink/food. you still can use the app to pay so you can gain stars though! read more

After coming here to study for the last 4 years, one thing I've realized is that the most consistent part of this Starbucks is how consistently they get their drink orders wrong. Every time I order from this starbs, I tell myself "they'll get it right this time", but they in fact, do not get it right. If your order a drink from this Starbucks there is more than a 50% chance that your drink will be made incorrectly. It's incredibly frustrating till the point that I've started going to the Starbucks on University because of just how poor their consistency is. *READ UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM* A Starbucks on campus - what most college students only dream of. This Starbucks had a "coming soon" sign for what felt like years but in reality was only several months. While not being a huge Starbucks fan, I was impressed upon walking in and seeing the lovely interior! The furniture was modern, clean, and new (as expected). The students so far are quite friendly and helpful. When I went it seemed like there was too many of them just standing around with nothing to do... but maybe it was just a slow morning. I'm excited to come here in the future as a new study spot! They also have complimentary 20-minute parking so if you're looking to grab a coffee on the way to class or work, this is your place to park on campus without having to worry about paying for a permit! The summer hours are daily from 7am-8pm, but I'm sure that will change once the school year rolls around. FIVE stars to the 2 students working the 11.4.15 closing shift into 11.5.15. Less than 10 minutes to close a few people come in (which I think is messed up of people to do but anyways) and the two baristas seem totally happy to take their orders. The gentlemen (sorry I don't know your name) who is working (it is now 11.5.15 close to 2AM) smiles and greets them and asks them how they're doing. AT 2AM. You're always going to get what you need here. If you don't get your drink made the way you like it, don't hesitate - ask for a new one. They'll usually even let you keep the old one! I really like the chai tea lattes, but cold is better than hot when it comes to an iced chai tea latte from here. Also try the passion tea apple juice with no water added - it's really tasty. There's also a deal on all desserts - if you come in an hour before closing you can definitely pick up half priced desserts every night. They usually get cleared out but there's some good stuff. You can accumulate reward stuffs but you can't spend them here. read more

This is literally the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. I normally have to ask them to remake my drinks because I'm lactose intolerant and they almost ALWAYS make it with dairy. I finally decided to write a yelp review because I asked Elisa to take out some ice (it was mostly ice and I asked for light ice) and she remade my drink with dairy... cool. Even though gold members cannot receive reward drinks at this location, they can still earn stars for purchasing drinks and food items. The shared space with the Glen Mor Market makes it a great place to grab coffee, study, and have lunch all in one. The baristas are the kindest group I've ever seen working together and put a lot of effort in their service. If you already drink Starbucks, you know what to expect, but the exceptionally delightful baristas and food options a few feet away make this location worth your time! read more

This Starbucks looks really nice but for me it wasn't a great place to stay for an extended period of time. I was working on a group project there with a few other people today and it was somewhat of an uncomfortable experience. 1.) three of the walls are glass from top to bottom but they don't have any sun shades. The sun beats into the store making it really hot. The sun was in my eyes the whole time and it was super annoying. 2.) none of the floor outlets worked so we had to take turns charging our laptops in the wall outlet and couldn't move away from the wall to a better table. 3.) for such a big space they don't have many tables. Seems like they waste a bunch of space. A lot of strangers had to share tables. read more

The place is run like a circus. I went in last night around midnight to see only one employee behind the counter, and the others in Starbucks uniforms were all sitting at a table together. I don't know if they were all off or all on break, but I've never seen a Starbucks with just one employee working. While I was able to order and get my drink just fine, I was confused as to what was going one once it got busy. Random people, who I assume are employees, ran up from the table, began to throw on aprons, and hop around the different area making drinks all while most the people actually wearing uniforms just kept sitting there. I texted my friend at 5:24 when I order my drinks and received them at 5:44. The first Starbucks on the campus of UCR which is every college students dream. Now they should really consider replacing all the other coffee shops with Starbucks. The opening of this new location was delayed over a year, but it finally opened over the summer. I was greeted right when I walked into the door which was very welcoming compared to other Starbucks near campus. I order my ice coffee with vanilla and cream and was order was made promptly. The quality of the drinks were in par with the typical Starbucks. Drinks were not watered down or overwhelmingly sweet. The only downside is that you cannot redeem your Starbucks rewards at the location, as this is not a corporate store. But you can still get your star rewards and use dining dollars to buy items on their menu. There is also a lot of seating at this location, good for those who need a place to study. They are also open late will 2AM and open as early as 7AM everyday which is a convenience. read more
