The drinks here are decent overall. The Thai tea was really good. I got it with regular sugar and light ice. It was sweet just how I like it. It could be a bit creamier, but it was still very enjoyable. The jasmine milk tea with regular sugar and light ice was just okay. I would not get it again since it tasted kind of bland. The main attraction here is definitely the popcorn chicken, however the food feels a little overpriced for the portion size. It was flavorful, well seasoned, perfectly salty, and crispy. Even at medium spice, it had a nice kick. There were no weird pieces either. The only downside is some inconsistency in size since a few pieces could be smaller. The mozzarella sticks were also very good. I prefer them with ketchup instead of marinara. They are your typical mozzarella sticks and taste good, but the popcorn chicken is what really stands out. read more

Decided to stop by here as this was a go-to place when I went to UCR. It seems to be the same and different. They mostly have a kiosk that many boba shops are using to order. This limits interaction with baristas. I came with my fiancé and ordered a mango milk tea with boba and she got the classic milk tea with boba. We also got the popcorn chicken with mild flavor. I'm pretty sensitive to spicy flavors and this one I had a hard time with. The popcorn chicken itself was fresh and crispy. I would say their tea and boba has stayed consistent and brings back some nostalgia. This is a great boba shop for students to come hang out and study. My fiancé used to come to this boba shop a lot when he was a student at UCR. he graduated in 2014, and now, students are still coming here for decently priced boba and popcorn chicken. Parking is very easy in the plaza. When coming inside, you are to order with the kiosk right in the front. I had ordered their original boba milk tea and my fiancé got their mango milk tea. We also ordered mildly spicy popcorn chicken with sweet and sour sauce. We didn't wait too long for our drinks and snacks. I'd say about 10 minutes. Their boba milk tea is just as other reviews describe; it's not amazing yet not bad. It's the price you pay for! The boba isn't fantastic either, but it tastes like my childhood. Their popcorn chicken was decent but it tasted spicy instead of mild. Overall, it was another nostalgic shop for students in the area. I mostly come here to study because it is near UCR. Like a short walk across the street if you like by any of the North District buildings. I like this place because it is very study-friendly and they dont kick you out after awhile. You buy something, and then you can study indefinitely here -- just keep the receipt so you can use the restroom throughout The boba and food are pretty good. Not the worst but also not the best. The boba itself isnt groundbreaking, but it's great. My usual order is Matcha. The food has a home cooking vibe to it which I really like, but if they could make the portions bigger and tastier than it would be great. Together they were very affordable. Tried the lychee green tea with lychee jelly, less sweet. It was good. Probably could've done with regular sweetness. Staff was friendly, helpful with naming off their popular items which happen to be majority of the milk teas. They also serve small bites to eat. Ambiance is that of a regular boba shop. Boba Tea House continues to be a staple in Riverside after all these years. Considering the area, there isn't any boba better than theirs. Being just minutes away from UCR, it is also the perfect spot for a club/fraternity fundraiser or a study break. My favorite drink is the Thai Tea. My favorite foods are the popcorn chicken and fries. They have a decent variety of food that comes in snacks/meals, and even a wider selection of drinks. I rate this a 2/10 because I have had worse. I would compare it to cheap Thai tea boba from a fast Chinese food joint (which I do enjoy when I get my fix) but I was not expecting this from a boba shop. Sad I wasted $7. No service. Order at kiosk. When the boba was ready the worker didn't even call out my number just left it in the counter. Ambiance is loud. We made a quick boba stop on the way back to the Valley on a Saturday around 2pm! First, parking was easy - there's a huge lot! Second, service was friendly, patient, and quick. It was pretty much just us and one other party, but nonetheless, we appreciated it. Next is the food/drink! Lavender milk tea with pudding and less sweetness: the lavender flavor is pretty subtle (enough so that my partner didn't mind it, despite not usually liking these kinds of flavor profiles), and the sweetness was at just the right level for me. The milk tea flavor landed first, followed by a slight kick of lavender. It worked for me! I didn't love the texture of the egg pudding, though - while most bites were soft and smooth, some had a layer/film with a different texture. Taro coconut milk tea with boba and less sweetness: my partner said it was good - refreshing. The boba was solid! I'd say that the coconut flavor is pretty present, but my partner thought it was subtle. Popcorn chicken at medium spicy: my partner thought it was good, but we both agreed that we would have liked it to be crispier. The spiciness level was accurate, but because the spice wasn't evenly distributed, the chicken at the top of the bag seemed more spicy than the chicken at the bottom. I would have liked the chicken to be a bit more flavorful, but my partner was happy with it. We didn't really like the sauce that came with this, though. Overall, this seemed like a standard boba spot with some cute items for purchase. We wouldn't go out of our way to visit, but it wasn't a bad way to satisfy our boba craving. read more

I would honestly give this place 1 star but I gave an extra one for the service. Food: I've been here before and their drinks are just okay. This time I tried their popcorn chicken snack and was disappointed. It's about $8 for a TINY portion, we waited over 15 minutes for 1 order when there was no one there except us, and there was tofu mixed with the chicken. They also gave it to us in a to-go bag when we were dining in. The worst part is that I asked for mild spice and there was still so much seasoning on the popcorn chicken, it was wayyy too hot for me to eat to the point that my eyes were tearing up. The seasoning was unevenly distributed too. I definitely will not be back here. Service: friendly employees! A lot of them are UCR students and new so it's a little slow but they're helpful and provide good customer service. Plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. Wifi available. Sometimes their boba can be hard, and other times it's the perfect texture. You're better off getting their other toppings like mini boba, egg pudding or lychee jelly. My favorites: + Strawberry Honey Pudding: a milk icee base with strawberry syrup and egg pudding! Lots of different flavors and textures in this drink. If you have a sweet tooth, this is a great drink to try. + Rose Milk Tea: not too floral and has a good tea flavor. A more refreshing milk tea. This drink is always consistent and has the perfect rose to milk tea ratio for me. + The snacks are good! I love the fried tofu, seasoned fries, and popcorn chicken here. Back when I went to school at UCR, this place was new and so exciting to have when coming from the 626, boba central. I recently came back to visit while showing my cousin around campus so we had to make a visit. One, because it was blazing hot. Two, because I really wanted to get an order of their fried tofu! Drinks are refreshing. I don't think my friends and I ever ordered a drink we didn't like. There's a variety of choices so make multiple visits to try more drinks. I can't say much about all their food choices, but the fried tofu stuck with me. I have yet to find a place that makes it as good as here. The crisp is perfect, and the amount of spice is great.
