I had a sip and I was transported back to Australia. It was an awesome flat white. Totally unexpected. I had pretty much given up on getting a truly good flat white like what you would get in Australia (where it came from) over here. It was always hit and miss at other coffee places. I do hope this place will be consistent as the person who made it seemed to be the owner. Now that I discovered it here, this shall be my must go place for coffee in Steveston. I presume they roast their beans and the flat white is very smooth with a velvety mouthfeel. Not much of the microfoam though. It has a non acidic aftertaste which I prefer. This place has many regulars and I can see why. During covid-19, it is only open for take out.

I asked the staff if it was still valid as it seemed like most places were clueless of any Yelp check in promo. A guy (I presumed is the owner) came over and said yes. When I said I would like a ..., he cut me off and told me to place the order with the staff, who was standing next to him. I think it could be handled better, and not in an abrupt manner. I was quite taken aback. I was also not given the till receipt so I had no idea if that discount was actually applied. I was there when dining in was restricted, so it was enter through one door and exit the other after ordering to wait. The food or drinks would be brought to the pick up table outside. There were patio seating. Parking is available on the street or at the side of building.

Flavor was delicious and so was the presentation. The place is very nice with live edge wood tables and a very notably nice bathroom. However, I was very impressed with how they make the ice. These are not just shaved ice made by water and add syrup like many places. Really high standard place use juice to make the ice and then shaved it. This place I think they use milk to make the ice, So it's very creamy. The corn flakes was a nice touch asking with the ice cream which makes sense. I tried the matcha one too and it was also very good. Love the mochi pieces in it and the matches powder was generous.

Liked that they have long and thin fries. Fish was light and fluffy, not too much batter. Also comes with some fermented cabbage which was actually a great to cleanse the palette when it's feeling a little oily from all the fish. I had their chocolate almond croissant - usually I forego the chocolate. Cold, it was okay, though warming it up was not offered. A few bites later, I had it warmed up, and that made it taste much better. We also had a Biscotti cheesecake, and this was just okay... Outside of the pastries, Steveston Bakery has some nice seating for a morning breakfast. The sun just peeks right in, and the ambiance errs on the quieter, relaxing end.

It's a super quaint spot with limited seating but on nicer days there's no need to dine in when you can just take your order outside to enjoy Steveston! I came here before for the mini tayakis and loved them, it was also a nice surprise to find that the server gave us an extra one. I really enjoyed the berry bingsoo, and when you think you've gotten through all the good stuff, you find there's an extra layer of fruit at the bottom YUM. The servings are little smaller than other bingsoo spots but I strongly feel the quality is better. But of course it's not a proper sweet treat without there being chocolate involved so we tried the Oreo croffle as well. Super flaky and solid amount of Oreo chunks, loved that too.
