Nice folks over at this location!!! Good service and friendly faces!! That was the highlight of this visit. Stopped by here after a morning job. Was hungry so I got a "double bacon egg sandwich and mushroom and egg bites". Both of these were a disappointment. The kale bites did not taste great and the sandwich was mostly bread and I didn't feel great after eating it. I'm surprised because usually the food here is better. The spinach wrap and the other egg bites were much better. I got an Americano that was pretty good too. $17 for everything. This experience left me yearning for a better experience the next time around. read more

There are no longer any patio furniture for anyone to use outside because someone has taken them away but thefurnitute is bavk no By The Way, I am highly satisfied with the way that the ordering section of the Starbucks app worked. Had absolutely no negative problems in using it. It is super easy to use once you get the hang of it. What I ordered was accurate and professional and I was not disappointed at all By The Way. Then look at me once he finished and smiling told me that I had to wait a little longer because he had to make more drinks for some one. Another employee was there in front of me sweeping the floor, I guess she could not stop to just take my order, but she did told me that someone was going to take my order. Most Starbucks already take too long to make the drinks, I get it, not an easy task, but completely ignore some one to serve your buddies, and then have about five people making drinks but no one can at least take the order? read more

Consistently is poor at customer every time I have visited. Today about 7 behind counter and one manager with hand held devise head down ... saw me turned his back to me while I stood at counter hoping to at least be acknowledged. Nothing !!!! 3 minutes later, mind you that's a long time not to make customer contact young girl walked by asked her if anyone was going to at least acknowledge me and tell me it will be a while before I get attention... she was very apologetic. Last visit they were very busy. I waited over 20 minutes for a coffee drink. Went up to counter asked them if my drink was one of the ones sitting on counter he said NO! Ten minutes later I walked back up and he pointed at my drink which had been sitting there when I first asked and he half heartedly apologized for his mistake and handed me my lukewarm drink. read more

Today, September 2nd, 2025, I went to Starbucks at the south lakes location as I've normally done. I went in the am and later doing the am, I went jogging as I normally do. Mind you, I've freguent this location for the last eight years. And, on many occasions I stopped in to use the facilities on my walk or jog. Very similar to other neighbohood patrons. Today I was informed that as of February unless you're a customer you cannot be given the code to use the restroom. I was told that I could go next door. I explained that I've frequent for years and was there earlier today. The person working informed me, that didn't matter and when asked for the manager, he supported this acidnine position. I was informed that if I did not make another purchase, I could not use their facility. I said ok and went to the other establishment that they so kindly informed me, to go to another's business. That establishment was obliging and was very helpful. I think that at some point management has to understand who their patrons are and be obliging to them in a respectful and neighborly manner. Especially, for someone who has supported them for years. I felt that the service in that particular case was unrepresentative of a qualitative customer experience. The contacted staff in this case, and management are the reason people feel it necessary to spend their hard earned money with those who respect, recognized and appreciate their business. There is another coffee shop in the neighborhood that is great and friendly. They will have my business from this point forward. There was no reason for the treatment I experienced. Customers sit silently watching as I explained I was their earlier and have been a regular customer for eight years. Yet, I was told if I do not make another purchase, I cannot use the restroom. I do not want to be harsh in this case and can only summate it to the employee and manage in which I came in contact. They were horrible and unprofessional. Please, know your customers that support you in the neighborhood. This is an establishment that two people have made a somewhat good experience, horrible. Love love love this Starbucks location. Invariably busy, but the staff and other clientele are also invariably friendly, polite, and pleasant. Mobile order pick up is more organized here than at other Starbucks locations. There's a separate area and shelves on which mobile orders are placed. Two entrances allow for easier transit in and out, and there is a decent amount of space to sit and work if you want. read more

So we came here this morning and it was moderately busy between people ordering in store, ordering ahead, or delivery orders. So generally when this is the case I'm willing to cut a place some slack. Also it seemed the like the person working the cash register, seemed to be quite new since I asked for a basic hot tea (btw starbucks in general why are there so few hot tea selections now?) At any rate my husband hot his cold brew and then I had to ask about my hot tea, now I haven't been to starbucks in the store in some time but generally when I order a hot tea or a drip coffee the cashier gets my drink and hands it to me. Not the case with today and I had to ask someone where you pick up the orders about my tea, when about 10+ minutes passed. It was a bit disappointing. read more

Our office used to be off of Preston White Drive in Reston. While we were there - we'd make a daily run to the Sbux in the Shopping Center across the way off of South Lakes Drive. I've been in here over a hundred times I am sure. Plenty of seating, Wifi (T-mobile) is available. Now the only time I stop in here is when I have a meeting in DC, I've taken the Metro downtown, and I have to return to the office after my meetings. The drive from the Vienna Metro over to Reston takes me down Hunter Mill Road and onto Sunrise Valley, which is where this Sbux comes in. Today I had an iced, triple shot, grande, vanilla, sugar free latte. It's bad, but I got in the car with that drink and I had injected the entire thing into my body by the time I made it up to the traffic light! :-) Delicious! read more

I came here on a Monday morning around 6:30 AM while working a few miles away. This Starbucks is located in a shopping center along with a Chipotle and Safeway nearby, among other shops (plus a gas station). There is a large parking lot and it was easy to park early in the day, although having been to the Chipotle for lunch in the past, I know the lot can get rather chaotic during the lunch rush hour. The Starbucks wasn't too busy when I arrived, there were just a few other customers getting their drinks to go. The staff were polite and efficient. I ordered a grande hot chocolate and it was prepared quickly; it tasted the way I expected. There's 1 large table near the front, and a row of small 2-seater tables occupying the rest of the space. The 2-seater tables were pretty nice for working because each one had it's own set of outlets for charging laptops/other electronics. I stayed at the Starbucks for about an hour and a half and was able to get a good amount of work done in that time. The store filled up as it got closer to 8 AM; by the time I left, most of the small tables were occupied. There are 2 unisex restrooms. Overall, this was a decent Starbucks, although it could've been cleaner; there were already crumbs on multiple tables and the restrooms weren't super clean for how early it was in the day. The wi-fi worked reliably for me and I was able to connect my VPN without any issues. A good place to grab breakfast and get some work done if you're in the area. read more

Been a while since I update my review of my favorite Starbucks. This location can get slammed at peak hours like rush going to work and at lunch time. So the Starbucks ordering app comes in handy for these times. Everyone here is amazingly friendly and helpful. one specific worker at the south lakes starbucks location acts like he has a stick up his ass 24/7. his attitude towards customers could not be worse, especially for younger teenagers purchasing drinks. This location is walking distance for both a middle and high school, so it isn't uncommon to see lots of teenagers at this location. however, this guy will not hesitate to yell and deny you service, kick you out, and not let you sit in the store even after purchasing a drink. I come here with my friend pretty often and have had my day ruined by this guy every single goddamn fucking time. if you come here, do me a favor and tell him to yank the stick out of his ass. thank you! read more

I don't usually review Starbucks because it seems silly to do it. Everyone knows what Starbucks is like and they don't differ that greatly between stores. BUT I have to review this one because of how happy it makes me. The location is perfect, first of all. It's in the South Lakes shopping center which is right on the shore of Lake Thoreau and just across the street from Lake Audubon. I almost always order through the mobile app and the baristas are super nice. They call me by name when my drink is finished after I get there, but usually my drink is ready by the time I get there. It's such a nice Starbucks when you consider the location and the customer service. It makes for a perfect break from work in the afternoon. read more

I visited this starbucks on a Saturday after quite a long time, and it really surprised me. Most starbucks have a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and decent service speed, but this one particularly stood out to me. The staff was so friendly and inviting and you could tell that they enjoyed working with each other. They also had my drink ready in probably less than 30 seconds. This is my favorite Starbuck's. It is one where each barista is like a character off of "Cheers" and they remember your name! They are lively, kind and seem to enjoy what they are doing. They will take the trash out, with a smile chatting and talking with customers along the way. While the manager is a bit stand-offish, the associates are top notch! For a non-coffee drinker, I've been going to this Starbucks a lot as of late, especially since the weather warmed up, as this site has a great little people-watching / al fresco area, located on the corner of a row of shops in South Lakes Village Center. I don't drink coffee but I do eat the lovely Starbucks sandwiches and love ordering a fragrant venti Chai tea with skim milk along with it. The service is top-notch and the staff is uber friendly. As for working on a laptop, it's a pretty perfect setup. The WiFi is solid and there is a whole row of 6 or so round little tables inside along the wall, across the ordering counter, each table with easy access to electrical outlets and good lighting. The ambiance is super pleasant, and two hours spent sipping on a drink and working on your laptop passes by in a blink of an eye. read more

This is an excellent Starbucks. It's been my go-to Starbucks for around 5 years now, but an experience I had the other day made me feel I should review it. I recently decided to go vegan, and came in for my dose of caffeine last weekend before a long road trip to upstate NY. In my flurry of trying to remember to make sure I got my drink with soy milk instead of regular, I forgot to include my additional 2 shots of espresso (so I wanted 5 shots in my venti). This is something like $1.50 extra, more or less. It was pretty busy so I had to wait a little while til the drink came out, and I was in a rush. When they called it, I realized I'd forgotten to add the espresso--basically defeating the purpose of getting a venti (to compensate for the extra espresso). I was bummed because 1) I needed all 5 of those shots to have the energy for the drive! and 2) my calories are precious to me and I did not want to waste them on a venti if it wasn't strong enough! I was in too much of a rush to wait in line and re-order, etc., so I was about to leave when my sister suggested I just ask them if they could add the extra espresso--she had been a barista at a coffee shop in college and said it really isn't that big of a deal. So, I politely told them I'd forgotten to ask for the extra espresso and was wondering if they could add it, and I could pay. The girls making the drinks were SO nice--even though they were crazy busy, they took my drink back and added the 2 shots, didn't charge me and were even friendly about it. Considering the amount of money I spend in Starbucks in general but particularly that location, I of course think this is completely appropriate--but you never expect fair, decent treatment from big chains like that. That's what I call good customer service! read more

They had a good selection of food still left even though I come through the area soon after the local high school let out. Stopped in the middle of the afternoon during the Relay for Life at South Lakes High School, we had a very large order, including (2) boxes of coffee. The staff was very nice, brewed fresh coffee, and provided us with cups, and drink holders, and cups of cream to take back to our teammates. Decent choice for some morning (or afternoon) joe. Everything is brand standard; although the layout is a little wonky, and as such, the line will go out the door when it is crowded.
