She was coaching one of her team members on the operation of their ovens. From her posture I could tell she was engaging her coworker in an honest and sincere manner. As the line moved, I could hear her words. She was praising her coworker for their excellent work and spoke authentically with compassion in her heart. She did not give a single compliment, but rained down approval, affirmation, and sincerity. I couldn't help but be moved and inspired by this kind, uplifting moment that I was a lucky witness to. This is by far the best Starbucks in the area, mostly because they have a great team. Though lines are long most mornings, it moves pretty quickly. I always enjoy my coffee here, they are very consistent in flavor, quality, and temperature. The staff and management are one of the best, always cordial, and try very hard to please all customers regulars or not. Plenty of seating inside and some out, wifi is slow but works 99% of the time, the music is pleasant, and it's bright inside with large panoramic windows. I'm actually sitting in this Starbucks as I write this review! This is my first time at this location and I love it! It's a pretty big location so there's room for me to comfortably sit even though it's busy. Lot's of tables, chairs, and those comfy lounging ones. Free wi-fi, as with all Starbucks, but it's FAST! I uploaded a 6 min youtube video in 2 minutes here.. It would normally take me like a half hour at home! The workers here are soo nice and friendly! One of the guys is really funny too. i come to this Renton location quite a bit for some study time and most of the time its just a typical day where everything runs according to plan. today was different. today there was a very needy customer with a very specific order and then to top it all off it was slammed busy! this woman not only made it known that her drink was wrong, but her children were making a huge scene. Kelsey (the lead on shift) took this customers drink and help decipher what the woman really wanted. poor Kelsey remade this drink many times before the customer was finally. This Starbucks is tucked between four office buildings, so this means there are many people here throughout the day, Monday through Friday. This means more than likely there is a line and the tables are full. Don't worry, if you just want to run in grab a drink they are quick!!!!! Weekends and non-work hours it is pretty slow and quiet. I wouldn't typically review a Starbucks store, but my experience at this location changed my mind. I was a somewhat regular customer to the Grady Way store when I lived nearby. The morning crew was always so friendly - they greet, thank, and address customers by name - and service was quick. In particular, Lacey is a great employee who genuinely forms connections with the regulars. I was surprised that they made me feel special when I only went in about one or two days per week. I thought the store closes at 9pm? Several times now, I've tried to come in at 845pm and all doors are locked. I know that the barista has seen me, and heard me try and open the door...and she puts her head down like she's too busy cleaning to be bothered with me. I understand that the employees are tired and are looking forward to closing....but if you advertise 9pm closing...then keep the doors open until 9pm as advertised. That's very poor customer service. I only wanted one simple latte. This is 3 times now. Usually the service on this store is great, but you might need to educate your employees about locking the door at 9pm instead of 845pm. My boyfriend drinks maybe 5 coffees a year and when he tried asking the lady about iced coffee she gave him attitude and was bothered by his questions. OMG! Sigh...... I almost feel like I might need to start supporting local small coffee shops again! Everytime I start doing the Starbucks thing and get all hooked, they always disappoint. This location was horrible:( We walked in and the line was long but not long to the point that I thought it would take 10 minutes just to order! UGH! Really upset with my experience today /: This Starbucks is usually on the decent side - nothing horrible not great. Today was on the bad side though. Taylor was my cashier and he wasnt pleasant at all. I politely put in my order with a please and smiling face and he was snappy when he couldn't hear me. No thank you, not smiling, and seemed irritated. Also, everyone else working seemed so bored and unenthusiastic. It was a very unpleasant atmosphere. Now I work directly with people in retail myself, and in a high end place we're not talking Forever 21, so I know times can be rough, but there was no reason to talk to a customer like that. My account was hacked and was used here. It is a massive pain in the ass to remove my credit card from my Starbucks card and and now not only is $20 gone from the losers who stole my money, but Starbucks took the remaining $10 off my card (to prevent future theft) and now I have to wait a week to even see if my stolen funds *may* be reimbursed. A police report has been filed, not that anything will come of it. But really I'm very disappointed in the way Starbucks safeguards their customers accounts and I really question whether the free drink program is worth it. read more

PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) season has begun and business is booming. It's time for sweaters, eggnogg, sugar and coffee- thank god, this summer has been non-stop. This starbucks is busy but they have been doing really good, consistent, friendly service and the type of experience we expect. The manager is efficient and helpful, the morning ladies are the very best- fast and friendly. I'm not sure some of the younger staff understand that we (daily regulars) are escaping from our office jobs for a visit to starbucks, we aren't in a huge hurry and have basic expectations of service and attitude. I have to say that customer service at this location was top notch on a particular Monday morning. I came in after dropping off my car at the tire shop nearby to address a flat tire, planning to work for a couple of hours. I ordered a green tea latte and a breakfast pastry. I was at a counter, had set up my laptop, and opened my green tea latte to mix in a powder supplement. When I was done, I went to throw away my supplement packet, only to then hit my laptop charge cable and spill the entire drink all over the counter, chair, floor, and window... needless to say I was embarrassed! Fortunately my laptop was completely missed in the spill, but the barista noticed my struggle and quickly asked a colleague to clean up my mess. Both workers were so sweet. The barista asked what I had and said it was an unfortunate thing to happen, not ideal for a Monday morning, and kindly made me a new drink. The other worker cleaned up the entire spill, making light of the situation probably noticing how sorry I was haha. I'm really grateful for those two workers who made my Monday morning not turn out into a frustrating one! And will happily work from this location whenever, but hopefully I'll be less clumsy in the future. read more

I love that this location uses a clover to brew coffee. I dislike that there isn't much seating and they push people through the line like cattle. There's also limited seating here. I ordered my usual grande nonfat latte and the result was a mocha, unless I picked up someone's drink, which has happened. I don't mind mochas on occasion and viewed it as a special treat. Several years ago, I had some project work here at this shopping center. There's an Uwajimaya where once was a Thriftway. The center itself is a little spiffier. I haven't been to this location in a while, except for when I want to sit outside and have my coffee from time to time. I have been going to this location on and off for the better part of 7 years. I like how there are still faces there that I remember. :) I used to work next door in the sandwich shop that was there, and when I was by myself, sometimes they'd bring me a coffee knowing I couldn't go over there and get it without leaving my store unattended. That was the type of courtesy they had then, and that I still see them have now when I'm there. Be warned, this is a busy location, and is usually always full. What happened? this was my everyday Starbucks and it was pretty good. I like how they rearranged the store a bit, but I can't say the same about the service, or the lattes. Sideburns dude is attentive, but the barista at the bar was eating, while making lattes (that's a no, no if you've ever worked in Food and Beverages). I can look past all that, unfortunately my macchiato just won the prize for Worst Latte I've ever had, any Mexico City Starbucks would put this place to shame, in their own backyard. Not sure why this location never shows up in the check-ins on Yelp until you manually enter the location name. Anyhow, the baristas here are the most personable people I've met. They're consistently busy every morning, but you need hear complaints. They know over half of their customers by name and share their silly pet pictures. One stop and you'll be hooked to this place! Even though, there's usually a 15-person line around the corner & out the door, you can't help but love the atmosphere. Just the simple offering of a drink stopper when they see you're headed to work, is a plus. I must admit, I've personally gotten sub-par service once. When I asked her, the barista who rung me up told me she was tired. A refreshing dose of honesty in such a passive aggressive region! She was also super funny and friendly -- in a genuine way, unlike the annoyingly chipper folks in the rest of the industry. We chatted in a way you'd expect in a small town. They didn't have decaf brewed coffee so they switched me to an Americano -- but for the same price (a discount). Among its many other virtues, they've got Google Wi-Fi. I can say that they have faster internet and it's a bit more quiet but the annoying this is that they're directly faced towards the sun so it's pretty bright. i guess if you like that you can come here but it's not great when you're using a laptop. It takes a lot for me to rate "1 star." I visited this Starbucks at least three times over the past couple months, and each visit was horrible. The last time (April 2011) will be the final visit to this place. The flow is inconsistent...the employees bounce from serving to cashiering to running arond confused. I was rudely received by the one cashier who basically let the people behind me order and pay first, even though it was my turn. Then he couldn't figure out why I was so upset with him. Because of that experience, it took me a total of 10 minutes to get my drink because it was lost in the shuffle. The other visits there were disappointing, but nothing compared to that last one. I'm never going here again. I don't know if they have new people working there or if there was a shift change going on or what...but I'm tired of being disappointed. read more

I usually go the Burien Starbucks (which is awesome by the way) but on weekends I go to this one because it's closer to where I live. The last 4-5 times my wife and I have been there we've had to wait several minutes for our drinks and we do mobile orders! Each time took 15 minutes or longer. I will admit it was pretty busy all the times but this last time I saw my drink ready to go behind counter and older lady was talking to coworker about how they didn't have enough people scheduled while she was working on the drinks that were ahead of mine in line. If she was more focused she may have noticed my drink was ready and I that I had been waiting 5-10 minutes already. (Again, for mobile order.) like I said, every time I've been there it's been a 15 minute difference between time stamp on cup and when I actually get drink. I only go on sundays. I don't drink coffee because I'm a weirdo but I have gone here a few times now for a quick lunch on my work break. The sandwiches are pretty expensive but they're good and they will toast/panini press them for you upon request. This is definitely a busy location with two Boeing buildings and other offices within walking distance, but they have a large staff that works efficiently so it won't take more than 5 minutes or so even at peak hours.
