Airport Starbucks means airport pricing. I'm never eager to pay 11 bucks for a breve but it's a sacrifice we all make. Besides that, they kept the line moving and the drink was great. Drinks are delivered in the typical name-call-and-grab system on the back counter that Starbucks rolls with. Good place to stop if you have 10 bucks laying around. read more

I had a flight in B gate and felt like a venti soy latte no foam and a lemon loaf so knowing that Starbucks was located a mile away I set out to get my desired snack. upon getting to Starbucks I placed my order, the time was around 8 pm. the man with boobs behind the counter told me the price 17 something and I handed him 20$ cash. the man with boobs said he didn't have a till and couldn't take cash. I said ok keep the change and give me my coffee. he said there is no way he can charge me for the coffee he had no till so I said ok well I walked a mile here I want my coffee your open so serve me. he refused. again I told him put the 20$ in the top jar and give me my coffee and lemon loaf! he refused so I walked a mile back to the terminal with no coffee and here I sit. what the hell happened to Starbucks customer service what the hell. This is the best airport Starbucks experience I've ever had! This location was adequately staffed with employees of all different ages and ethnicities, love the diversity! And they were all smiling and happy! The woman who took our order engaged with us about our travel plans and shared some personal information to make a real connection. Pathetic Starbucks. They cannot take cash? Force people to use a corporate payment method, even though their infrastructure for it appears from the 1990s & forced you, design wise, into giving them a "tip" with buttons from the 80s, with the "no tip" option almost hidden. It's a little larger than your typical airport Starbucks. I went at 8 a.m. on a Tuesday and there were five people working. Despite that, the line was slow moving and no one could figure out why. In the end, they made a decent white chocolate mocha. It wasn't mixed properly so all the sugar fell to the bottom, but it got the job done. read more

Admittedly, this location has been SLAMMED on 90% of my visits - with wrap around and winding lines. However, overall the customer service has been great and consistency with making my drinks (as compared to stand alone Starbucks stores) is great! Not to mention they have been so gracious in giving me a cup of ice water to help fill up my water bottle for my flight The new addition of mobile order has made it even better and more accessible! Shout out to the crew the morning of June 11 as the mobile ordering app was open and saying they were open, but when I arrived they had a sign that said they didn't open until an hour later. The ladies scoffed a bit (admittedly what an inconvenience) but made everyone's drinks appropriately. I tried to tip via the app, but it wasn't available at this location (via the app). In June 2022 the seating area was under construction, but during previous visits, it's a great spot to sit and get some work done, if you have a long layover. Note that for Terminal 4 all C and D gates connect AFTER going through security, so you can still hit the Starbucks POST security if you're at gate D. read more

Big caution with the mobile order. I ordered mine from C1. Walked there to find the shop closed. An employee behind the gate told me to pick up my order at B17. This is a big airport and I'm flying out of C13!! Got to B17. Waited for mobile. These employees are busy. They never called my name. I waited in the order line. Got to the front and the woman at the cash register gave ME an attitude when I told her C1 had sent me here. I'm only doing as told. This Starbucks is in Sky Harbor's Terminal 4 outside of security and well frequented, but that's really no excuse for the state of the area. Very rarely do I find this location clean or well maintained, which is unfortunate. On my most recent visit, a young man was taking out the trash (insert hand clap here) and basically grabbed the trash bags and left everything that fell on the floor right there. That's what we call a disengaged employee who could care less. On this same visit the young lady at the register was slow as molasses and no one had the sense to come open a second register. HoHum. After a long day of travel, I just wanted a coffee and to go home...instead I got to stand in line for 15 minutes unnecessarily. I rarely give unfavorable reviews. Maybe I am just too easy going or my expectations are just a bit low. I was pretty disappointed in this latest Starbucks experience. I know a lot of airport cafes and restaurants are not corporate owned, but I feel that if they "fly the flag" then the experience should be the same. Ordered an iced coffee and their new chicken and bacon sandwich as I needed to grab a quick bite before my flight. The sandwich was clearly marked $5.20. They rang it up and mentioned something about doing so using another sandwich because this replaced that one in their system. Of course it was $7.10. I asked about the difference as the total was too high. The cashier didn't know, her "manager" didn't know and the barista making the drink said she handwrote the tag herself and it was $7.10. Ah no, I am looking at the tag and I can read $5.20. Fine, whatever. I have to get to my gate and it's $2. Got my drink and was waiting for my sandwich. Five minutes later... Where is my sandwich? Oh, did you want that? Yes, since I paid $7.10 for it. Half hearted apology and off I went. Got to the gate. Starting eating the sandwich and honestly, if everything had gone well, it was a 2-star sandwich. I've never been a huge fan of Starbucks food - sadly a McDonald's sausage McMuffin with egg is better than any of their breakfast sandwiches - but this was really mediocre. (This is the main Starbucks at Terminal 4, right in between the entrance of Gates A & D.) ************************ Well, if you're still a smoker - and I feel your angst - this is the handiest Starbucks at the Phoenix airport. Because before you go through security, you can take the escalator right in front directly to baggage claim, which exits to the one comfortable smoking area at this airport, which is next to the very cool doggy pee-pee center. I don't know if any of this is important to you. But as far as Starbucks go, I have no real complaints - my chocolate chunk cookie was surprisingly tasteless, but chewing baked flour dough is probably better for me than lighting another Spirit. This Starbucks has a lot of seating with outlets, but this Sky Harbor airport has a lot of seating with outlets every ten feet or so, and we're all using their free wifi. My Pike roast using my cup was actually four cents cheaper than what I pay in Austin, and I won't argue with that. I thought the staff here was friendly & efficient, and the line moved pretty fast. The only thing that even remotely piqued my interest was how flight attendants can consume massive amounts of syrupy goo & dairy in coffee drinks, and still look great. I was tempted to ask, but decided to head down one more time to the very cool pee-pee center. read more

Good Mocha for a Branded Coffee Stop SITREP The metrics for coffee are pretty standard from Starbucks to Starbucks. So that a Mocha I grab at the first Starbucks in Seattle is going to taste about the same as the one in my hometown of Sacramento to the one here in Phoenix. And in the end, the taste of my mocha is the driving factor behind an overall rating. Where "The rubber meets the road", so to speak, is in the execution of customer service. Here, this Starbucks pretty much fails that measurement. THE SETUP You're in an airport. That should be the first clue to any establishment that it's going to be busy. When I was here, it was EXTREMELY busy. And yet, when you have a line about 12-16 people deep, waiting to (hopefully) grab a coffee and decompress, you are going to need more than ONE barista manning both the register AND the coffee machines, and making us wait about 20 minutes to get the coffee. Minus 1-Star right there. COST Why is it that airports and businesses at airports somehow justify the idea that charging MORE for services and product at airports can be supported? I. DON'T. CARE. The fact airport establishments jack up their prices is a completely reviewable metric and one I will ALWAYS denigrate. You can give me any excuse you want that the reason my cup of mocha here is a full $1.10 more here in Phoenix than at home, I won't ever accept your airport tax rationalization. I do not normally review Starbucks Coffee locations but I just had to! I was waiting for my flight for another 4-5 hours and thought to get some Starbucks. When I'm feeling like I need a pick-me-up, I order my venti soy green tea latte & use my accrued stars from the Starbucks phone app. Here, the baristas were so friendly and charming that it made waiting at the airport much more bearable. It's an overall clean store with many places to sit and charge electronics (find them at the high tables). It was not at all crowded on a Friday night! Keep in mind you do not need to go through TSA security checkpoint yet for this store, but there's plenty of seats all throughout if you know you'll be there for a while. read more

There are a number of Starbucks locations peppered throughout Phoenix Sky Harbor. This is a review of the one at Terminal 4, C Concourse. I imagine that a lot of these comments likely apply to all of them.... Ok, this is your typical airport Starbucks location. It is conveniently located right next to the security checkpoint at Concourse C so you're able to get your drinks on right after shedding any liquids you may have tried to sneak past security. It can get pretty busy (it's a Starbucks, after all) but the staff does a nice job of getting through orders pretty quick. The only complaints I have are: 1. I've had issues using my phone app here, especially when trying to get free refills. As an airport location, they probably don't have a lot of folks taking advantage of their generous refill policy, so that may be the issue. On more than one occasion, my card has been charged full price and the staff has no way of crediting my account. Not a huge deal, but somewhat annoying. 2. Blueberry Oatmeal - They do NOT use fresh blueberries here, only dried ones. For someone who eats a lot of oatmeal and often buys extra blueberries, this is sorta a big deal. 3. They do not sell the Evolution Fresh drinks here. I LOVE the Sweet Greens, but alas - not here. They only sell the psuedo-wannbe healthy sugar bombs called Naked Juice. I assume that this is an arrangement with the airport. Maybe I am high-maintenance, but my "go-to" Starbucks order in the morning usually consists of coffee, oatmeal, and Sweet Greens. When I was there, it was quiet without a line. There is a seating area with four tables and three sets of four armchairs. You could actually sit here and believe that you were at any Starbucks, not inside an airport. The place was well staffed (I believe there were three employees), and my drinks came quickly. They had bananas when I was there, which was nice, plus a limited assortment of baked goods (it was later in the day). read more

Wanted to give a high five to this busy, lovely Starbucks. Every Starbucks has its own character and this one is unique. I've been taking my sister back and forth to the airport quite a bit. On the picking up side, I actually enjoy parking and walking around the airport while I'm waiting. I love airports because they are anonymous and that's very freeing. And I always finish my wait at this Starbucks. I get something Starbuckian with whipped cream and drink half and go into an insulin coma. But it is good. I look around and this has a genuine comfy feel - for an airport place. The people who work there are patient because everyone is struggling to get money out of their bags or luggage but everyone gets a smile. Nice job! read more

Stopped in to get some boiling water so I could heat up the pasta I brought from home (airport food is usually expensive & not that great), p/u a Very Berry Hibiscus (yum!), & make good use of the airport's free WiFi & ample wall plugs (and seating) in Starbucks. Fortunately, it didn't have that stinky coffee smell (I hate that) & it was extremely quiet for a Starbucks. Susan was my cashier & she was very personable. She teased me for thinking that my request for hot water was silly. LOL I only ordered a Very Berry Hibiscus, but she's a great salesperson because she asked if I wanted to get a larger beverage or purchase any pastries. I didn't order anything else because I brought my own pasta & chips and wanted to grab a cocktail before my flight. Like a typical Starbucks, the line never seemed to end and the lady who was making the drinks was super quick! Her strategy was to ask people in line what they ordered before they paid and helped to keep the line moving along nicely. *Confession: Every time a plane takes off or lands, the entire room shakes slightly & that's not the easiest thing to get use to since I'm from California & it seemed like we kept having mini earthquakes.* Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain internet access in Starbucks (and I wanted a cocktail) so I moved closer to my terminal after I ate. Other than having technical difficulties (WiFi may only be available in the terminals), I'd highly recommend this Starbucks when you're stuck in the Southwest terminal waiting for a flight. The customer service is excellent, the place doesn't smell like coffee (the smell makes me nauseous), there's plenty of seating and wall plugs, and even if there's a line, you get in & out quickly! read more
