Why is it always burnt... While the staff has always been hit or miss, I just cannot get over the burnt drip black coffee. I've been to many other Starbucks in the area and they have not had this terrible taste, but the few times I've been here it's been quite bad. I have also noticed it can be messy at times, but their staff is always slammed due to it's location, so not sure if they need more help or not. I had a really frustrating experience at this Starbucks location. I asked if I could buy a cup of water, and the employee told me, "We don't give away water unless you make a purchase." So I asked again--just to clarify--if I could buy a cup of water, and she said no, but that I could buy a bottled water instead. That didn't make sense to me. If the issue is giving it away for free, then why isn't purchasing a cup of water an option? The employee was rude and dismissive in how she responded, which only made the interaction worse. This was probably my 5th or 6th time in here since March 2020. While at home I used my trusty Starbucks app to place an order for a Grande Blonde Roast Coffee, a Grande Ice Pineapple Match with Coconut Milk and a Bacon, Sausage & Egg breakfast wrap and the app said estimated pick up time was 8:56am. I arrived at 8:59pm, (darn traffic lights) went to the pick up area and found my 3 items. Now Starbucks has these great cup stoppers to put in the lid of a beverage, it's great for a hot beverage as it helps to keep the heat in as well as help to prevent spills if your driving (you know what I'm talking about when you're driving and the coffee sloshes around and out the top). They use to put them in all the time after they made the coffee to keep it warm. Well not today. What I got was luke warm coffee (yes I know I was 3 minutes late but who knows if they finished it early or on time) and instead of 2 sugar packages I got nothing, no sugar packs or even them adding it inside the coffee. Oh and let's not forget that they filled the cup to the top of the rim to the point that it was spilling even after I put the stopper in. When I asked for a stopper and a straw for the iced drink I was told I'd have to wait which is fine, however, don't be Miss Grouchy Pants about it. When I got to work I took out the breakfast wrap (work is only 1 minute or so down the road) and talk about extra crunchy. I took a bite and the whole thing literally crumbled all over my desk because the tortilla was cooked way too much. I will say that my dog would like to thank whoever overcooked the wrap as he was able to eat what fell. I will say ordering via the Starbucks app is convenient and there really shouldn't be any waiting at all, unless your arrive earlier than the estimated time it states your order will be done. As far as customer service goes, this location use to be good but today just kind of made me think that everyone there is just pissed off at the world. Yes we are all experiencing the same pandemic, yes we are all tired of wearing these masks, etc., but I kid you not, there was not one bit of conversation, no interaction with the customers except for taking an order and even that was almost a one way conversation, not even amongst the employees. Now I work with the public and you still need to be courteous and friendly regardless of Covid-19 or not. Heck, I am! But once they leave and shut the door that's a whole different story. LOL Just kidding, maybe. But seriously, it was so dead in there even a mortuary is more livelier then this Starbucks location. read more

As much as I--like so many others apparently, enjoy the sensation of chewing on soggy, coffee-flavored cardboard, it deeply troubles me that more and more Starbucks locations are moving away from an option for plastic. Once upon a time I was a young lad snorkeling the warm, crystal clear waters of Hawaii. Everywhere I looked I'd see the most beautiful, exotic tropical fish. Then suddenly there it was, a huge adult sea turtle sauntering effortlessly amongst the coral. I had to get a closer look, but this limber leatherback would jet off each and every time I closed in. In my persistent pursuit I swam farther and farther out, when suddenly a bone chilling wave washed over me. I looked down and there it was: the drop off. If you've ever seen Finding Nemo you would know--this conniving, shelled charlatan had done its very best to lead me straight to a watery grave. Now, you might be asking yourself what this briny betrayal has to do with paper straws. Believe me when I say it's not that I love plastic straws--I just really hate turtles. read more

I came in while I was on a trip to Petaluma to use my laptop and grab a quick bite to eat. This was one of the bigger Starbucks that i've been to. I ordered an iced chai tea latte and found a quiet place to grab a seat. The staff was friendly and helpful and everyone seemed happy there. This Starbucks is better then most of the other Starbucks that I have been to. The people there were super friendly and happy. I will be back if i'm ever in the area and need to get some work done while I drink some coffee. I know a lot of people are more for local coffee shops and they are very against Starbucks. I don't understand why people knock them so much. They are a big company and they do well for a reason. Not every Starbucks is the same and you can tell that the people at this Starbucks care about their job. read more

It can be very challenging to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I like this particular Starbucks because they're friendly and close to where I live but clearly they are understaffed. I placed a mobile order this morning for a latte--drove there, entered the shop which was a madhouse. I waited for 20 minutes, finally gave up & waited in line and then asked for a refund because I couldn't wait any longer. The clerk scanned my card & told me it would be refunded to my card. He handed me a "refund receipt". It was not refunded to my card. I called the customer service number, spent 5 minutes navigating their voicemail, finally talked to a representative who said it showed no purchase. After another 10 minutes the representative couldn't help me--wanted all kinds of information from me, which I gave him, although I had already entered it into their system. He confirmed that my balance was $4.95 less than what it was before I ordered this latte. But he couldn't do more than that. So, after spending another 5 minutes on the phone, staring at my "refund receipt" which was worthless, I told them to keep their $4.95--I'd spent enough of my time. Except here I am writing this review so the beat goes on. The greed factor exhibited by the new SB CEO, Laxman Narasimhan, is disgusting. Well, Laxman, you can add another $4.95 to your already stuffed coffers for the coffee I didn't get. I hope it makes you happy. This kind of experience would never happen at Amazon--they work to keep their customers happy. I'm not a big fan of Jeff Bezos but he is slowly winning me over, given their customer service. Starbucks could learn a lesson from them. read more

Had a horrible experience here in late May of this year and that experience is the number one reason why I have stopped patronizing Starbucks almost entirely. I took my daughter in here to get a cake pop, and first took her to use restroom before ordering, she is 4 years old keep in mind, and was excited get a cake pop, being her normal hyper little self and was being loud and excited. She was not throwing a fit by any means, but did make a couple rounds of cafe looking around and laughing and talking. I went up to the counter to order, but instead of taking my order for the cake pop, the employee, a slender teenager with black hair and ponytail, asked me in rude tone, "can you get your daughter to be quiet? " This employee could not be any older than 19 years old, at the most. I immediately questioned why she thought it was okay for her to ask my daughter to be quiet, and she replied that customers might complain. No customers were complaining or even looking at my kid! There was 4 other customers in there at most. It's not as if my kid was laying on the floor screaming. Im not going to come into a business and get told how to parent by a rude teenager more than 20 years my junior, when I'm trying to make purchase. Anyhow there were two other employees present at the time, a heavyset female with black hair and a redheaded female who just started glaring at me from behind the employee confronting me, doing nothing to defuse the situation. While I was waiting for my drinks I happened to notice a homeless man shoot up something then he became agitated and sweaty and I told a employee and she acted as if she could care less and told me there's nothing she could do and walked away. I always go to this location on my way to work. It's always nice when the baristas remember who you are and what kind of drinks you like so when the machine breaks down it's reminds them of you and they tell you what is going on the next time you come in. Definitely a highlight to my day especially when I have my daughter with me and some of the other patrons always say hi to her. Definitely recommend this location as there's plenty of parking around and shops too. Try the blonde roast espresso too it's so smooth and a little sweeter than the regular. read more

I ordered the caramel ribbon crunch and when I got it there was no caramel.... on top or mixed in it looked. I asked the lady and she said they must've just not drizzled it on top but it is mixed in... tasted it and it just taste like coffee and vanilla blended... still tasty but certainly not done right. If I wasn't dying from mid-day caffeine withdrawals I would have walked right out of this Starbucks. I was appalled within five seconds of walking in. My two co-workers and I walk in on a gloomy morning in need of caffeine for multiple reasons. It was one of those weeks that felt like a Friday on a Tuesday. We walk in and all you hear are the employees literally screaming. Not screaming at each other in an angry way but discussing their social lives in a loud and completely inappropriate manner. Not only was their conversation and means of conversation totally inappropriate and rude, but there were customers waiting to served while they yelled about a birthday party/cake. I can't remember the exact details because I was containing the urge to hop over the counter and tell the blond employee to pull it together and either go outside or in the break room if they want to discuss who did what over the weekend. You don't leave a line of customers just standing there debating whether or not now would be the time to quit their coffee habit while the employees carry on like maniacs. I am not even exaggerating, they were screaming and laughing like they were at the local pub on a Friday night. Absolutely revolting. Usually at a Starbucks customers are sitting on the comfy lounge chairs working or just relaxing, there was no one doing that at this Starbucks location and it was obvious why. It would have been calmer to do work in the monkey cage at the zoo. read more

Ordered coffee with milk and sugar and one flat black Coffee came with no sleeve and after sitting in my car I realized there was no sugar in my reg coffee! So apparently at this Starbucks if you order a coffee with sugar in it, you also have to ask for it to be stirred. When you send it back to have it stirred after tasting it, they treat you like an a-hole. I normally would NEVER spend my money at Starbucks but I was given a gift card so thought I would spend it. Also, three times (and the only times) they have messed up my order of cream and sugar and stirring. Amazing drinks, absolutely wonderful atmosphere and great music as well. Over all my experience for this Starbucks was overwhelming great. I ordered a venti iced chai latte with two delicious pumps of vanilla and it was one of the best chais I have ever had. One weird thing of this experience was one of the baristas towel whipped me in the ass. Now,I'm not sure to consider this a act of but it was odd. Young people today have poor work ethics. Today I was charting in Starbucks for one hr. One of the women working there talked non stop for one hr. loudly. She talked with the other staff and customers loudly all about her life, school and family. I thought, instead of talking non stop, sweep the floor, it was gross, clean the tables...do something that resembles being at work. I think workers at a coffee shop should speak quietly to each other...it's not a frat party, it's a business. People are working on lap tops, reading papers etc....staff should work and be dedicated. Kudos to the one male working there who remained quiet and focused on his tasks while the other two women spilled their entire life to anyone who would listen. read more

Okay, so I carry a well-stocked Starbucks card. When I moved to Petaluma, I expected the usual Starbucks experience. Isn't that the idea? You can expect to feel at home at any Starbucks worldwide. Well, forget this one. I have lived here for five months, and they STILL don't know my name. The lines are unreasonably long, often because the very young staff are chatting among themselves or standing around doing nothing while the poor new guy takes care of business. And the lattes change depending upon the server. Can't count how many I've taken away only to find out in the car a few miles away that the milk is scorched. Yuck! The pasteries are always stale and the pastry counter never stocked. I really hate this place, but I live in an apartment complex next door, and it's convenient. read more
