The havarti grilled cheese with fig butter. It's a seasonal item. I'm usually not a big fan of sweet and savory but this one was excellent. Just a hint of sweetness with mild but flavorful havarti on perfectly grilled bread. Will have to bring the kids back someday. They would love it.

The offer discounts for teachers, first responders, and transit workers as it is conveniently located across the street from Oceanside Transit Center. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the scent of damp soil and espresso, two of my favorite aromas. The space is small but bursting with personality, the kind of place that invites you to slow down. Succulents spill from shelves and corners, turning the space into a living, breathing sanctuary. Nearly everything is available for purchase, and with so many unique pieces, it's hard to leave empty-handed. The barista had such a gentle warmth and made us truly delicious lattes. Maybe this is their way to handle the traffic because tables are full and maybe they are down staff members. Either way, I was disappointed at the speed/organization. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION - the cherry on top to all of this happened since I had so much time in line to observe. The girl taking orders would take an order, process payment by touching the POS system, then scoop ice into a glass for the drink she was making (this time was a Bloody Mary), handle bottles of alcohol, and FINALLY, touch the bacon and garnishes for the Bloody Mary all without washing her hands. No doubt there have been many hands that have touched all of those things and contaminated them, all for her to touch food at the end without washing her hands. The POS system is also about 10 feet away from the bathroom so all of this adds up to something that seems risky and needs to be fixed.

And when I had a taste of their food a couple of days ago, I'm not sure why I didn't come back sooner. Service was very pleasant. Plenty of seating. Had the chicken and waffles and it was really good. The savory crepes could use less onions but the meat had a lot of flavor. Good locatin also, close (ish) walk to the pier if you want to burn off the calories. Not waiting 10 years to go here again.
