The staff is really nice and most of the customers there are regulars so they know the customers by name and drink. Every time someone came in, they knew their drink and how they usually ask for it (except me, because it was my first time). The only thing is that it's kind of in a middle of nowhere almost dying--dead shopping center but that way you have less traffic and more peace and quiet to do whatever you do at Starbucks. The workers all seem very nice... and didn't say anything or bother me even though I stayed there for a long time. Drinks are hot but I usually don't order the high calorie, high sugar drinks because they're expensive, risky (how good it is depends on who makes it), and diabetes&obesity-inducing. read more

Above average Starbucks. For some reason this Starbucks is never too crowded or loud. There's always some seating. The baristas are very friendly and quick. I have never had an issue with the wifi. The bathrooms are clean. And there are so many charging stations for your phone/tablet. I walk my dogs with my husband most of the morning time, when i do i tried to come in for a white chocolate mocha decaffenated coffee along wth some water for my dogs and my husband. The staffs are so nice and friendly i want to come much as i can...They always remember what coffee i drink and accomodate with my dogs with bowl of water, and of course my husband does not drink coffee so i end up getting water for him..But i love this place :). read more

This is the most consistent Starbucks I have ever been to. I order a pretty normal drink - A caramel white mocha. This is the only Starbucks that I can go to where no matter what time of day I order, my drink will always taste the same no matter which employee makes it. It's always clean. They're always fast about their service which is awesome because I usually stop by 5 minutes before work. The atmosphere is also very relaxing at this specific location as well. I had stopped going for about 4 months due to money saving problems (go figure) and when I was finally able to pop back in, they had still remembered what I order. Coffee bars, yeah, you hear it all the time. Either you love it or hate it. Not the coffee bar itself, but the coffees that they serve. However, Starbucks has positioned itself so that its coffees appeal to everyone. Oh sure, except for you. You don't particularly care for their coffees. Everyone else, though, seems to enjoy their coffees. I like Starbucks coffee drinks. But what I really like are the comfortable cushioned seats; the opportunity to relax and read the paper and listen to relaxing music. All of the Starbucks seem to address this need pretty well. The Stevenson Starbucks is just better at it because they have more comfortable seats available. My 4 stars are for the atmosphere and not really the coffee and food items. If I were to rate the food, I'd give it 3-3.5 stars. Another plus for Starbucks is the kids' menu. Yeah, a kids' menu! In addition to tall, grande, and venti, they have child size. So I often go just to take my kids for a kids size hot chocolate. And it's only a $1. It's really ingenious marketing actually. All child size drinks are $1. So it's inexpensive. But what happens is the child is soon hooked on Starbucks. By the time high school rolls around in another 5-6 years, they have a new generation of Starbucks patrons. read more

It's just a Starbucks. Except it's not. The staff here has time and time again continued to amaze me. Today, I ordered a salted caramel frap and JaVoni made it. He says he has only been working for like a few weeks, but like I texted all my friends to try his fraps. They are amazing. I came back after my college class on the Newark campus to thank him and ask for his name - he didn't have a name tag just yet. I go to Starbucks a lot, I've been a gold card member since 2009, and I visit the one on mission usually in the mornings to study. If you haven't guessed by now, I live in Fremont and go to ohlone college, both the main and Newark campus. I'm glad I got to meet this young wizard because he is an amazing barista. Also the prices are high, but like honestly, a 4 dollar drink covers the employees wages, the rent of the place, and materials. This is my fav Starbucks spot! Staff is okay, bigger than most Starbucks locations and very relaxing to be at. Usually come here to read my books or just to get away and have a nice cup of skinny vanilla latte and relax. Plenty of parking space. Also a good place to bring a client on a business meeting. The bad: they close early around 9. Need to at least extend it to 11 or 12. read more

I used to be a Starbucks fan - I am not sure I can overcome the trauma of their coffee .. In a more serious note: I got two regular coffees and one English breakfast tee. I've been to this location many times never had issues until last night. Before I got to order my drink I was the only one in line and there was one person making drinks while I seen two others going back and forth from the back room to the register area. I assumed maybe no one noticed that I have been waiting to order so after 10 minutes of waiting I walked up to the register and the lady told me to wait still. Wasn't able to catch a name for who made my drink although she made the wrong drink and gave me attitude after I told her it wasn't the right drink. Normal Starbucks and unfortunately nothing sticks out about this location....it is a very busy one however with plenty of business and college kids using this a day use location for work and business. I just want to give an "atta girl" to Jade! I went to another Starbucks in Fremont this morning and they didn't sweeten my Iced Orange Spiced Coffee. So on the way to work I thought I'd stop at the Stevenson/Ballentine Starbucks to just ask if they could add the syrup to my drink. Jade remade the whole drink (even with a packed lobby & the only one making drinks at the bar) and was so gracious and sweet. Jade exemplifies the "old school" customer service that you seldom see anymore today. Starbucks company is very lucky to employ someone like Jade. Behold! You stand in the finest Starbucks of all the land! This store at 880 and Stevenson has been my "go-to" place for coffee and mellow-ocity. Love to relax in a comfy leather chair with a big hot cup of Pikes, chating it up with friends and other regulars. The staff does an outstanding job every day: there appears to be a sincere joyful quality to each one of the employees. Having fun, but being professional. I've been to other Bux in the area and the vibe is that they feel their job is a grind(pun intended) but not here. They really care about the customer experience: from keeping the bathrooms spotlessly clean to serving the best coffee creations, it really shows in their approach to customer service. This is my favorite Starbucks between Fremont and Pinole. I have spent numerous hours here studying and the management does a fantastic job making sure the place is staffed with genuinely wonderful people. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, well-made drinks, spotless bathrooms, and the music is never too loud. The only reason I take away a star is because there is a divorced men's group that comes here on the weekends (I think usually Sundays) that makes it unpleasant to be in the store. I work in the family law world and get the need for support groups, but the misogyny I sometimes hear literally makes me nauseous. If you're planning on being here for an extended period of time on the weekends, make sure to bring earplugs - I sure do. read more
