By far the worst Starbucks with the hours. Keep closing earlier and earlier because they are all young kids that don't want to be there in the first place. They keep putting up signs saying why they close the lobby early. There's always a reason. I'm a mail carrier and I go here a lot. I'll attach a picture of the sign for the reason they closed early this time. I came up to the door 30 minutes before closing so I can't mobile order let alone go through the drive thru because I'M IN A MAIL TRUCK! I'm over here working 12+ hrs a day and they can't even stay open long enough to finish their measly 8hr shift? This is an extremely horrible way to run a business. Unfortunately, now that this location has moved next door where Burger King used to be located -- after an upscale build out of the space of course -- it's gone downhill : ( Yelpers, read the reviews before you stop in here! It can take up to 25 minutes (!!!) to get even a simple order. Even Rip Van Winkle would wake up before his coffee would be ready! Review #062 - 2016 I've been to this Starbucks a few times and it's usually pretty nice. They have an outdoor seating area and the inside also has plenty of seats. The last time I was here, there was only one barista (didn't catch her name), but she was very busy since there were a good amount of customers waiting for their drinks. She managed to do everything by herself, but there was another girl in the back who should've come out to help her manage the lines. I decided to order something cold, refreshing and caffeine-free...an iced venti berry hibiscus refresher with extra syrup. She told me that the drink was already sweetened so she recommended that I try it without the extra syrup first. I've had it in Hawaii and recalled that it wasn't sweet enough, yet agreed to her recommendation. I took a sip, it wasn't as sweet as I'd like, but since there were other people waiting in line I didn't bother to ask her to adjust it for me. This Starbucks is up in the upscale demographic town of Moraga, home to St. Mary's College, some 5 miles up the hill from Lafayette. Consequently, you get only two types of people here: 1. Ladies of Leisure (upscale soccer Moms in SUVs) 2. St Mary College Co-eds Not bad, actually, to pick from fresh faced college co-eds sharing their dreams and gossip, or older cougars looking for a pick me up. Actually, there were a smathering of middle aged men, maybe hoping to get lucky form behind their laptops? This Starbuck's is on the edge of one of the two main shopping centers for Moraga, this one anchored with CVS Pharmacy. (The other one is just a mile up the road anchored by OSH and Safeway.) It is very non-descript inside and out, typical Starbucks decor and set-up. There are several outdoor patio seating tables, and about average number of tables inside. Not much in the way of comfy chairs and couches though. People are friendly and the service is pretty quick. I got a Soy Latte and treat sized trio of cookies. Then I sat down and enjoyed them, whiie getting many quick glances from both main groups. You know, those glances that show some interest, but the timing isn't right in front of their friends. There are 2 entrances to this SB. The main door has outdoor patio type furniture. The other door is in front of a parking lot. Hubby has been here a few times but it was my first visit. He doesn't like the cashier who works here and says she's rude. I paid with my gold card and she didn't hand the card back to me but tossed it on the counter. She doesn't really greet you when you say 'hi' to her. I sat there watching her interact with other customers, sometimes she greets people and other times not. Most of the time she has a glum, flat affect. I wanted another cup of coffee but wanted to wait until she went on a break, that's how much of a turn off it is to have to deal with not so nice SB staff. I came here on a Sunday morning around 9am and the place was buzzing! Only about 2-3 people sitting down enjoying their drinks but about 6 people in line. Even though the line was a little long it moved super fast! The Husband ordered a Venti Green Tea Frappuccino with Whip and a Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and I ordered a Tall Iced Peach Green Tea and an Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese. Everything came out correctly and we enjoyed our food. Even though there was a lot of people standing around waiting for their food everything came out quickly with a short wait. I like this location because there are plenty of places to sit inside and you don't have to jockey for a space. There are also a few tables outside and ample parking but unfortunately no Drive-Thru. Boo! When I'm back in the area again I will come back to this location for the speedy service and good food and drinks. Well, and because it's the only Starbucks in Moraga. read more

Quality is great but customer service is questionable. I go there ALL THE TIME. Several times in the to go line, they have either given me the wrong coffee or forgotten to give me something I ordered. The lines can get very long. One time, I was waiting for at least 30 mins. I finally paid and I quickly took off bc I did not want to stall the line. Come to realize, they forgot my pastry. I was tight on time, I had the food for my kids so I had to rush, drop them off and than return to claim my pastry. They gave me the pastry and aplogized. After all the effort and time this mistake caused me, I would have appreciated a cup of coffee or SOMETHING for the inconvenience. Even if I didn't want it. The gesture would have been nice. Again, they have done this often. I called the manager and told him about it and all he said was "so sorry and tk u for the feedback". Today I went and the girl forgot my water and than she forgot my pastry. I have learned my lesson! I never take off bf checking what they hand me. read more

This Starbucks is awesome. Super convenient because it's close to my apartment as well to Saint Mary's College. It's a pretty large Starbucks with plenty of seating inside and out. The baristas are super friendly whenever I'm in there and the service is always really quick. Even when the place is packed it still only takes about 3 minutes to get my drinks then I'm out of there. I've been to many Starbucks because of the gf and this one has to be my favorite because I don't have to wait forever to get out of there. i go here a lot since it is only a 30 second drive from my apartment. do yourself a favor and go to the lafayette or tice valley location if possible. the drinks just never come out right here and my order is wrong at this location more than any other starbucks i've been a regular at. ordering a shaken espresso is a hit or miss... it'll be straight milk half the time. also typically will take 5-10 mins longer than it says on the ETA for mobile orders unless it is super slow. i never complain because that's not going to help the employees, i know they're doing their best, but geez it's not a pleasant visit most days. customer service is average, probably what i'd except more at a mcdonald's. great study spot, though. lots of comfortable chairs. read more

The stars are for the evening crew during the week who seem to be nice and helpful. I would give negative stars if I could for this morning. Fortunately, I don't live here and only come because my daughter has practice here. It seems to take an act of God to get staff's attention, and when you do, they are rude and blame their co-worker for not doing what they're supposed to. Even the woman taking my order was snippy. I ordered a coffee and showed her the avocado spread, wasn't done ordering yet, and she says, "Don't you need something for that?" (referring to the spread). I responded that I wasn't actually done ordering yet. Barista called mobile orders and doesn't even look to see if the person is there, then places the drinks where they cannot be accessed so you are forced to wait until they actually acknowledge your existence to get your order. Maybe invest in your employees receiving customer service training and your reviews will improve. There is a consistent trend in the need for improved customer service. I know it's Starbucks and we shouldn't expect much more, but give employees an opportunity to improve for their future at least. read more

The drinks are made well and staff is friendly to your face, but wow this is a rough situation. They seem to just choose random times to close most days. Which is a HUGE frustration when you have kids who love the coffee shop after school at 2:00. This is the slowest Starbucks location I have been to on a fairly consistent basis. I think this location has a hard time retaining staff. Often when I go through drive-thru that the person handing drinks out is unsure of what order they are on or what they are supposed to be doing. The wait times are incredibly long at either front counter or in drive-thru, you're likely going to spend 15/20 minutes to place an receive an order if you have 2 cars beyond the speaker post or 3 people in line. The customer service isn't bad, but it's not good either. I think it's a product of being overwhelmed, which doesn't allow for eye contact, smiles, or greetings/farewells. 2 stars because it's nice and new. However once you get beyond the look of a location, you still expect what a consumer has become accustomed to at a Starbucks regarding speed and service. read more

I don't know what's with this Starbucks, but for some reasons they can never get my order right, which is an easy Vanilla bean frappuccino I never had problems ordering anywhere else. Once I got something disgusting that was like warm milk with whipped cream on top. Another time I specifically asked for whipped cream and I got my frappuccino without it. The service is just terrible and painfully slow. It's definitely the worst Starbucks I've ever been to and I really don't even understand how it can possibly be so slow. I found myself waiting for a good 15 minutes when there were only two people in line before me. I just find it unacceptable and I think there's an absolute need to change things. Here we go again!! Some people should not be customer facing. Black haired female with some eye makeup, a shock of colored hair. Saturday morning. Huffs and puffs at guests. Rude and surly. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches to eat, and 2 almond croissants to go (for tomorrow). She heated the croissants up without asking. Told her we didn't want them heated. She rolled her eyes!!!!! No apology, smile, "no problem", just a sour angry look. When she returns loudly announces, "2 UN-WARMED" almond croissants". Again, no customer service at all. My spouse and I felt like she was our mother and had spent her own money on our croissants! Hey Starbucks! Coming from an HR professional, you're hiring the wrong people, well some of the wrong folks. Do you ever shop your stores? Would you like to spend your money on crappy guest service? Do you regularly train your customer facing staff and assistant managers on exemplary customer service? Nah. Didn't think so. How difficult would it be for you to ask your front line staff to smile? Say thank you? Show appreciation for a regular customer? Won't mention more names, but my family, and our coffee group won't be supporting your store anymore. I liked this Starbucks....until.... I met a local police officer here who asked me out and I proceeded to go out on a couple dates with. Come to find out he wasn't single at all and I ran into him at Starbucks with...his WIFE. What a weirdo! Anyway this Starbucks is in the Rheem shopping center and is pretty convenient to get to. Easy parking and never too crowded inside. The place is cozy, yet large and has a HUGE outdoor seating area (this is the best part). As far as Starbucks' go, this is a good one. I live very close, so whenever I do go to Starbucks, it's to this one. The people who work here are very friendly, and there is a ton of seating. Many of the locals have weekly gatherings at this location to play chess, or just hang out. It's also a good place to get some studying done, especially if you sit in the corner couch, just make sure to bring some headphones with you! read more

This place is somewhat inconvenient for laptop users. There're only 4 small round tables with outlet proximity that can fit only one laptop each. You also have to sit on high stools. Another place where you can sit with your laptop is big 6-person table. It's more comfotable than high stools, however this table sort of in the middle of human traffic, with one side next to counter and another side next to small tables along the wall. I wish they put this table close to wall/windows instead, that would at least make 3 comfortable laptop seating. But I will give it 4 stars because it's not very crowded and it's open later than other locations in the area - until 8:30pm. Also this asian looking barista was probably the most friendly barista I've ever seen. I mean I work with people too and I have very high rating, but I don't know if I'm able to smile like that to every customer. There's some real social skills right there. read more

Been to many Starbucks stores, and there is none slower then the Moraga store. I probably won't be back after the last trip there. After waiting in line (four staff working, one at a register, one making drinks, not sure what the other two were doing, the barista in deep conversation with someone who seemed like an off duty employee who was hanging out) and ordering my drink, I watched two people who were behind me in line get there orders first. I asked about my drink and got it--opened the lid and it was clearly made wrong. When I said something, the barista knew a mistake had been made and remade the drink correctly. Off I went. None of this is a big deal. Its a coffee drink. But its just a consistently bad consumer experience at this store. read more

I live in Moraga but would drive to the Rossmoor starbucks because the drive through line was always so quick. The Moraga location actually took me 27 minutes with only four cars in front of me. I had then swore off the Moraga location even though it was down the street and I would drive to Rossmoor to get my coffee. Megan worked mornings in the drive through and she was always so kind, funny, personable and made me start my day off with a smile. I just loved coming and talking to her for those few minutes. The fact that she kept the store so efficient was a big bonus. I was disappointed to learn that she would be transferring to the Moraga location because I hate the long lines, the drink orders more often than not were wrong and the staff seems like it was always their first day... I would miss her but no way was I going to go there for coffee. Then the Rossmoor location started to fall apart. The lines were so long I just didn't have time. I was going to have to make my own coffee (gasp) !!! I was driving by this morning- saw that the line at peak school hours had only 3 cars! So I was like fine.. I will give it a chance. OMG Megan was there with her amazing smile and attitude- knew who I was just from my voice when I ordered my usual (which she knows ) Everything was perfect- I was in and out within a few minutes and I drove to work with the biggest smile on my face! I remember when the talk started to bubble about putting a Starbucks in Moraga a few years back. Residents of the town were outraged - it was capitalism at its finest, and would destroy the secret enclave of Rheem. Uhh I have no idea why we were that worried. 1) It's Moraga. Everyone lives there because they took advantage of our capitalist society. Towns where the per household income average is above $100k shouldn't fight a Starbucks in their town. 2) It opened up next to a Taco Bell. Lesser of two evils. 3) The one cutesy little coffee shop that was also in the Rheem Shopping Center DID close, but that was more on account of their crappy products than the 'bux stealing their customers. Say what you will about its corporate policies, Starbucks does a few things very well. It's in a very central location that is conducive to short meet-ups with old friends and family. I like the nice patio that adjoins the place; on a sunny day, I could work for hours on a laptop under one of their umbrellas. Their hot chocolate is delicious, although perhaps a little more foamy than other locations. I don't drink coffee, so I can't judge that. 'Tis the season of pumpkin products, too, so make sure to try their pumpkin loaf or pumpkin scone - very yummy. Starbucks pulled a brilliant maneuver by handing out those free ITunes song cards - certainly an incentive to visit. So far, I've picked up tracks from Joss Stone, Annie Lennox, and a handful of lesser-known artists. The workers at this location are especially willing to help you with the cards, and if you ask nicely, will look in the back to see if they have any that you may be missing. read more

Got a free coupon for a "Perfect Oatmeal" since I'm a Starbucks Gold Member now. Perfect Oatmeal with Cranberries, Raisins, Walnuts and Almonds. They ran out of brown sugar at the Starbucks but fortunately I had some brown sugar laying around at home so it was okay. I'm glad the barista was considerate enough to mention to me that they had run out and asked if it was okay or not. I come here a lot to get my white mochas and black tea lemonades though and I've always found the baristas extremely nice and friendly! read more
