This Starbucks may have been the worst Starbucks I have ever been to originally it started off great, but once I got to the window, the service became rude and arrogant. I also work for Starbucks currently, and that grants me access to having a partner discount, and I went to use my discount, followed by it, not working and the barista not understanding how to input it correctly. This led to a higher up, such as a shift supervisor or a manager coming over and inputting it then they told me that I would need to show my ID which I had out, and I am usually prepared for but the tone that the person asked me to hand the ID too was very rude and none of them seemed like they wanted to help, but rather just get me out of their drive-through. I think this store needs to go under serious customer service training before serving more customers. read more

The order taker at drive thru is rude, when we are telling our orders and she repeated the order . She sound so iritated that you almost feel her angry emotion! I am thinking maybe because I have an accent or something, BUT the person who gave our orders in the window, the girl with blonde hair is very nice. They can stop charging these high school students just to get a cup of ice or water! Literally stating that the store manager Brian is ok with this. Then if you don't want anything in their menu they refuse you ice or water starting that's the only way to get it. Now I do understand there's different places the children can go to but all in all denying them water or ice in 95+ weather is completely inhumane and absurd seeing as children such as mine often get nose bleeds sue to the heat. read more

Staff needs to relax and learn to not snap under pressure. On 12/13 at 4:30pm a female staff member with long curly hair was extremely rude. She was frustrated at their machines being down and took it out on my spouse by cutting her off when she spoke and told us it was our fault they had to redo the transaction because we paid with cash and card, AFTER they were the ones that told us the wrong total (which is why we had to do it that way). Before that, the male employee, said he had to take her phone to the front register because the window one didn't work and complained about the cash we gave separately in front of us at the window. On top of their incompetence, their register DID work at window, and the drinks that they made were gross. It's not the first time they make gross drinks, but I'll occasionally give them the benefit of the doubt when I'm that area. read more

I feel super bad but Ive never had such an awful experience at a Starbucks. We were passing through on a roadtrip I asked for oatmilk to be added to an iced espresso, and when my drink was up it was only a splash. Totally fine but I don't think it's usually extra to do a little more. 3 separate people asked each other if it was supposed to get oatmilk as if I didn't pay for oatmilk and then they put one more splash. I ended up buying a cup of oatmilk to I could add it for 3.69. they weren't super busy, service was really fast, ambience is great, a lot of tables for working on projects just wouldn't recommend this one sadly. read more

Today the store by the mall actually got my order right!!! I was able to order ahead and they got it right!!! Yes, I am repeating myself but it is so rare for this store. Maybe they had a new manager or just the manager was there and not this one supervisor ( red-ish curlyhair, who just does not know how to deal with anything... a asian girl barrista stepped in and made up for her nervous and ( sorry, kinda incompetent skills) I am stating how they looked so management can maybe look to see if they have had similar complaints). Anyway, TODAY, was AWESOME! Whoever made the three orders of mine was spot on. He or she knows how to do their job!!! You deserve a cookie and perhaps a raise, IMO so tired of their order ahead being shut down at the mall and by paulson ( by Raleys. I am also tired of the barristas not being able to read and correctly make my drinks. When I order four long shots and get what looks to be one or two short shots at best in a tiny cup that is a forth of the way full and then my vente expresso frap with an additional five shots does not seem full and should come with extra on the side but does not... i am so over it. I reloaded my card today and I am regretting it. The only store I recommend is the one on R and 16th which is not by our home. They always have order ahead and they have their store in order. Why is it so hard for the others? Maybe they all need retrained? Maybe Starbucks should stop building new stores and focus on the ones they have that are doing abysmal jobs. I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of customer service. I went into the store on a Thursday afternoon with my mom. Nobody else was in line. As we begin to order, right away, the barista at the register acts rude towards my mom, cutting her off and yelling at her to speak up. It was really uncalled for and made me very uncomfortable. Like I get it...my mom's a small quiet Asian lady but she honestly did not deserve that. Plus it took forever to get our drinks. I mean, we were the only customers in the store and I went to use the bathroom, took my time doing so, and still had to come out and wait for our two drinks. I used to love this location before it moved from across the street but now it's honestly the worst in town. The wait time is always ridiculously long no matter which way you order. The estimated time in mobile pick up is usually double what the app says and the drive thru is always like a 20 minute trip. The morale of the staff seems to suffer from this inevitable mismanagement. There is a nice young lady Cecelia who is always nice and friendly which is appreciated. After giving me my 2 drinks, not only did she not offer a drink carrier, as I was by myself, she also got upset I reached and grabbed my own. (I did not over a small bin of stoppers, that's my fault, but I picked up most of what I could) then I let her know I accidentally dropped it trying to grab a drink carrier and she said to me, next time just ask for a drink carrier, and I just laughed and said okay. How about next time you offer the customer a drink carrier if they are by themselves with more than just 1 drink! I would like to give a major thank you to the staff at starbucks on how they handled my medical emergency. Also some of the guests as well especially the retired fire fighter, that was by my side until the paramedics came There is one employee though that really stood out he told my fiance that he was about to take a test to become a emt, thank you for all that you have done as well. This Starbucks will always have my business no matter where I'm at if I got the urge for a good quality coffee product it will be the olive street Starbucks that il go to. This Starbucks literally opened today, 4/19/2018, and it is the best store layout and location in Central Valley. This place is huge. It is one gigantic dining room with lots of tables, chairs, and stools. This is the same great staff from the old / previous store location. They are super fast, friendly and professional. Visited the drive through this morning for a quick pick me up before I start my day. Going to a drive through I understand that my interaction with the attendant will be quick and I don't expect the moon especially since its so early. Still, I've actually had kind interactions at these locations in Merced. I am from Southern California where the attendants are rude. However, you could tell Meli was just a kind person and enjoyed her job. My order wasn't complicated and there wasn't a huge line of people where customer service during those times goes hand in hand with efficiency. So during a stress-free time where I would have just been happy with my order, her joy (which wasn't forced or annoying like it is at Chick-Fill-A) was just so lovely. I wanted to give her a shoutout so hopefully their manager knows what a gem they have. You can just tell she's a delightful person and, as I mentioned before, enjoys her job. I am always happy and grateful coming to my local Starbucks. The baristas are always working so hard and are always welcoming. Today I went in to pick up my online order in the morning rush, where I realized I messed up on my order on the location. I order the same thing every day from here and when I first began coming to this location, more convenient to my house, they would overcharge me; once resolved I continued coming here and expected they would take a very long time to make something extremely simple. Even noticing that people that were 2 places behind me in line would receive their order before my 1 drink. That's fine. Everytime I start drinking the drink, and about half way through, it turns to solid ice. This only happens at this loçation, the store on 16th St. seems to make them perfect. I don't get it, do they use too much ice, not enough liquid, don't blend it properly, what do they do wrong? The drink cost $6.25. I've never had a bad experience with starbucks. It is usually crowded and it often a hot spot for students. Their wifi is good, and their service is good. I don't think they can do anything else to improve. I'd recommend the Cold brew with Irish cream during the winter as it is a seasonal drink. read more

I recently visited this location. I'm not from this area but was meeting a colleague at this location. As soon as my colleague walked he was told to put his mask, which he had no problem putting on while he ordered. (Keep in mind not every costumer in the cafe has a mask). As we are sitting and drinking our coffee. A man walks in and no one told him to put a mask. Then another guy walks in and also wasn't told to put a mask. The only difference between them and us was we are ppl of color and they are not. I could not believe what I was experiencing seeing that Merced has a high Hispanic population.
