Yummy bagels! I stopped by Bagel Tyme with some friends on a weekend morning. If I could describe this place in one word it would be "BUSY." The line to order was wrapped around inside the shop and out the door. I would say the bagels are 100% worth the wait though. They offer a wide variety of fresh bagels, cream cheeses, and toppings. They even have a sandwich menu! I ordered the Beesting Bagel Sandwich which comes on your choice of bagel with egg, bacon, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and a hot honey drizzle. It was absolutely delicious! The bagels were super soft with a nice crust on the outside. The cream cheese was perfectly thick and creamy. The hot honey drizzle really tied everything together well! Because it was so busy, it did take a while to receive our food. The line to order, although long, did go by pretty quickly. There were some tables inside but it was too crowded to find a spot. Luckily we were able to find a table outside while we waited for our orders. Whenever an order was ready, the workers walked around both inside and outside shouting the name of the order which made it convenient for us to not have to fight the crowd to the counter. The only issue I felt there was was the cleanliness. When you are standing inside, you can quite literally see years of caked on dirt on some of the not frequently touched surfaces. The lamps probably had an inch of dust built up. Although this isn't the most important detail, it still makes me question the cleanliness of the whole establishment. Despite this, I won't be held back from revisiting if I am in the area again! read more

When I came here over the weekend, the first thing I noticed was how the store was set up to take orders at the door like it's still 2020. Other than that, the bagels were made fairly quick, and you can dine on their outdoor patio. * New York Lox Special - 3/5 stars. I'll be frank, I took a bite and another bite but it didn't AMAZE me. It's your average lox bagel with tomato, capers, and red onions. The wait was about 10-15 minutes but there was a small line shortly after I ordered. Overall, I wouldn't come back if I were craving a lox bagel to this place because the total for 1 lox bagel came out to be $15 with tip, but it was convenient as this store is located near the highway. read more

This place is sooooo good. Everytime I come to Merced I try to get here for breakfast. Today I had the bagel sandwich on an everything bagel with bacon, an egg, and garlic and herb cream cheese. The bagels are so soft but perfectly crunchy when toasted, and the flavor of the garlic and herb cream cheese is insanely good. I am so disappointed in this place. I love this place as a whole. It's been a while since we have gotten any since my last interaction with them. Not only was this bagel prepared so sloppy to the point where the cuts whereby even lined up with one another once opened, and fixing it just made everything 100x worse. everything fell out of the bagel making it disgustingly messy to eat and inevitably making it impossible to eat without everything coming out and making an even bigger mess. I do like Bagel Tyme. I like how fresh the ingredients are, I love the variety of options they have, I like that you can call ahead to place your order. I don't love that they sometimes take a long time to answer but I do understand it might be because they are busy. However, sometimes they will answer and put you on hold until they hang up on you. They do run out of specific bagels sometimes pretty early, and it's more than just the popular bagels. At times they have like 2 options +the plain bagel, maybe 3 hours before close. Seems like they should make more of the popular ones, especially on weekends. As mentioned before, the bagels do have fresh ingredients and they are pretty good but the bagels themselves although fresh they are not the best tasting. They lack a bit of flavor and all have the same "sour" dough flavor no matter which one you get. If you like a pickle on the side with your sandwich, remember to ask for it because it doesn't come with one and I think it should be automatic. Aside from a variety of bagels, they do also have a variety of drinks like coffee and smoothies even bottled drinks as well as pastries. I have yet to try any of that. But I will update once I have. I do love that they sell their flavored cream cheese but it is a bit pricey for what you get and tbh it's not great. The seating is very limited as the place is pretty small so it gets crowded just to walk to a seat. My advice to you is get there early to have the most option and ensure you'll get the bagel you want oh and seating of course. read more

The bagels are good. Yes. The management and the disfunction of the entire operation is absolutely horrible. Prioritizing catering orders over in-person orders and then running out of bagels for in-person even after the bagels have been ordered is just bad practice. Even after they made sure the bagels were available, they still prioritized random large catering phone orders over those that have placed in-person orders and they magically ran out of bagels to satisfy a larger order by phone. Wait time 1 hour to throw a couple of unsliced, untoasted bagels into a bag and then disrespecting longtime customers of over a decade long (not even caring about loyalty) is just a bad business model. After a 1 hour wait. Left without bagels. My advice is to avoid until they get better processes down. I can get everything bagels at save mart or Raley's. They are just bagels. read more

The great- the food is great. The staff is kind, polite and hard working! The horrible- The wait. I get it. They are rightfully busy. The line goes out the door. No problem- I'll order it for pick up because I'm in a hurry. Except when you get there you have to wait in the same line just to pick up. I wanted to just leave but I didn't want to stuff a small business with an order that wasn't paid. It's so easy to set up an online ordering and payment system where people can place orders and pay with a designated pick up area. I was told my order would be ready in 10mins. I'm sure it was. But it does no good when you have to wait in line 25 mins to be handed cold food. Please consider modifying this practice. It might help your lines and bottom line. The bagel was thin and miserable, although I will say the only thing that could maybe make up for this waste of $7 is the toasted bagel, which was actually warm and tasted fresh and pretty good.
