Mix never disappoints! From there HUGE cookies and Cupcakes to custom cakes they do it all. They even have a protein cookie that makes you feel good about yourself. One of my favorite places for cupcakes! They have so many flavors. Their cookies are delicious as well. One thing I love is there slice of the day! I've tried both the cupcakes and cakes here, and they all taste like they're made from boxed cake mix. Everything has the same dry texture and generic flavor you'd expect from something bought at a grocery store, not a bakery. I gave them more than one chance thinking maybe I just had a bad batch, but the cupcakes and cakes all tasted the same. The cakes and cookies are pretty mid at best and definitely not worth the price. If I'm going to a bakery, I expect something that actually tastes fresh and homemade. To make things worse, the manager was extremely rude. Customer service like that just makes an already disappointing experience even worse. I definitely won't be coming back. read more

I have been coming to Mix Bakery for years! I was a home baker until I tried their cupcakes. I don't know how they do it, but their cupcakes are amazing! They are moist, full of flavor and delicious! I have ordered several cakes from them and they are always the star of the party! They offer a variety of baked goods, unlike anything you can find anywhere! This bakery is a great little gem in Merced! We found them on Instagram and ordered a red velvet cake for my daughter's birthday. My daughter said the ladies were very nice and helpful when she went in to order her cake. The cake turned out to be very tasty and moist! It's definitely on the pricey side, but it made my daughter very happy. We went back to the store a couple of days later and the lemon bar is one of the best lemon bars I've had in a long time! There aren't many good options in Merced, so this bakery is a much welcomed treat! read more

My mom ordered her quinceañera cake from here ( she's 75 lol). We wanted something special. After seeing the reviews I said go there mom!! We ordered the bottom layer marble cake with mixed fruit inside and the top layer was the strawberry champagne with strawberry inside. Boy was it delicious!! Plus they were very kind and made her exactly what she wanted with a few embellishments that made it go above and beyond. If you're thinking of ordering a cake, you must come here. I decided to grab some goodies here on the way to Costco and they did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, greeted me as I walked it and quick to help with my selection. Cookies: macadamia nut, chocolate chip, peanut butter and m&m. All very good, chewy and sweet. Oreo and peanut butter balls: delicious, we made sure to keep them in the fridge but they never dried out. Cheesecake: almost the best cheese cake I've ever had, the crust although good is plain but the actual cheese cake with fresh strawberry topping makes up for it. Had such a great experience ordering a custom birthday cake here. The owner took my order and was super helpful and professional. They're very customer service and detail oriented to make sure they get your order right. They did such a fantastic job and I was extremely satisfied with my order. It was beautifully decorated with the vintage piping and the edible cake glitter was so pretty and sparkly. Mix Bakery followed all the details I wanted for this cake. Most importantly it was delicious, moist, and held its shape well and was easy to cut. Loved the red velvet cake with the Oreos since they added a nice textural crunch with the soft cake. I've always loved Mix bakery! I bought my mom a dozen jumbo cupcakes with her choice of cake/filling/frosting/extras and customizing with the team at Mix was so easy. They offer so many choices and it was all together on a piece of paper to choose from. We ordered when we were ready and we were able to pick up the day before! Cakes are beautiful they are a 5 star and also flavor is great but the prices of the cake are over priced you can honestly pay someone that does cake. For $150 and get a 150 people cake worth somewhere else ! Inside store super neat and clean customer service great but I wouldn't ever pay that price not worth it. read more

Best customer service ever. Beautiful cake! They provide not just baked goods but happiness as well. I came in on a Saturday just after they closed. My fault - didn't realize they closed at 2. I wanted a nice cake from a good baker for my brother's impromptu 37th birthday party. His birthday is July 4 and he has not had a designated party for his birthday since age 5. It was planned impromptu so finding a good cake anywhere but Rayleys was a long shot. But Mix Bakery came to the rescue! They were closed but still went out of their way and offered one of the cakes in their fridge. I am 100% ordering my catered cakes from here from now on, especially my best friend's annual carrot cake in October. read more

My sister and I took a drive from Madera today to try Mix Bakery after work and to say that we were impressed was an understatement! The bakery is so cute, taking safety precautions in a tasteful way, and their desserts look so beautiful! When it came to taste, we were blown away by the moistness of the cupcakes, the variety of flavors, and the overall look of the products. For the size you get and the price you are paying, it is so worth it! Even though we did not take one home today, they have the most beautiful arrangement of pre-made cakes available for purchase. They are one of the first products that you see when you walk in and they are so pleasing to the eye! Not only were are purchases delicious, the customer service was fantastic. Everyone was so helpful and our cashier was so sweet to us! If you are looking for a place in the area to get a special treat, we highly recommend Mix Bakery! Although we have great options in Fresno, we look forward to coming back again to Merced with more family in the future. They will be seeing us again! read more

The cake was only ok. I got an oreo chocolate cake for my sons birthday. It was 50 dollars, so I was hoping it would at least be delicious. It was a bit dry and the frosting sickly sweet. Nobody was able to finish their piece of cake due to how sweet it was.I regret my purchase. It was pretty small, too.It was large enough for 7 of us. I will most likely not go back. This is the best bakery in Merced. The cakes are beautiful! The service is wonderful. We had someone steal our cake from work. The owner opened two hours early and let us pick out something to replace it. They didn't have to do any of that, but did. The service is excellent and the people are super friendly. We got our wedding cake made and it was red velvet with Oreo chunks with a buttercream frosting and it was the best cake ever. Normallynota buttercream fan but theres was amazing! If you enjoy good things and happiness, Mix Bakery is the bakery for you. If you enjoy a cupcake that is light and fluffy, a brownie that is dense and chocolatey, a piece of cake that will take you back to a fond childhood memory, Mix Bakery is the bakery for you. If you don't like any of those things or you like being disappointed, please go elsewhere. The fine people at Mix do not need the aggravation and neither, frankly do you. I first found Mix early in the pandemic thanks to a stimulus gift card from the City of Merced. I am so happy I decided to redeem it at Mix because it introduced me to the true greatness and love that is Mix. The red velvet cupcakes are incredible. They are just the right consistency to make each bite perfect, not crumbly. The cream cheese frosting is a delight. Let's switch to the oreo cupcakes. Those, too, per the Carly Simon song, are the stuff that dreams are made of. It's got a perfect balance of oreo flavor while retaining perfect consistency again. The topping cookie is the crown jewel in this masterpiece. Do you like lemon squares? I love them. Mix has the absolute best lemon squares. What about cakes? They have that on lock too. I've ordered three cakes from them with no disappointments. They even recommended caramel in my carrot cake. What's that now? Caramel? As the kids today would say, "The cake slaps." I can't say enough about the staff. Every time I've been in, I've only been treated with kindness and consideration. They've been helpful in recommending treats and in helping me navigate their numerous offerings. They know their stuff and are ready to help with a smile. Now look, I'm not happy with the way the NBA season has shaped up for my Los Angeles Lakers this year. I've been a bit disappointed by their performance, but I understand the toll injuries have taken on the team as well as the toll COVID has taken on the league. Westbrook has also not quite been the pick-up I had hoped for. Hopefully, the team can pull it together in this last part of the season. I will say what is not disappointing is Mix Bakery. They consistently deliver wonderful yummy treats. So if it's just for you, for someone special, or for family and friends, you can't go wrong with anything from this fantastic establishment. read more

It's comfy with good oldies playing in the background. The food was amazing and seasoned perfectly. Their Portuguese beans is a family recipe and the best beans I have ever tasted. Biscuits and gravy was delicious. They are homemade and you can taste the love in it. We had the tri tip and like everything else - blown away how tender and flavorful it was. The corn bread was delicious--slightly sweet, and moist enough to not fall apart when I cut into it with my fork. I usually love butter with corn bread, which they offered me, but it didn't need it. I wasn't sure which pie to get-they have so many to pick from. Checking out the options in the bakery case didn't help because they all looked so beautiful. I ended up selecting peach, and it was amazing. The peaches were perfectly caramelized but still maintained their texture. The bake of the pie brought out their ultimate peachiness. The crust was just the right thickness. Even though it was a cold slice, the crust remained flakey. The cafe had ample seating. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Pricing is on the high end, but I'm not sure how much that is because food is so expensive now-a-days. I was a bit surprised to see sandwich combos (with a side) all starting at around $20, and going up from there. It was after 2 in the afternoon, so the bakery had several 50% off boxes of baked goods to select. Four large cookies for I believe $12 or so (I could be wrong). There weren't too many options left in the bakery cases. I would love to see what this place offers when it first opens. Stay tuned for an update once I get that chance.

They also have many exotic birds in the front of the store. It was relaxing to go and have an ice cream or coffee, which they sell, and take some time with nature. Mix Bakery is a great local bakery. They're really known for their cupcakes and cakes, and both are fantastic. They always have a good variety of cupcakes, and their cakes are consistently delicious. One thing I love is that they often have a "slice of the day," which makes it really hard to walk out without grabbing something. Even though they're known for their cakes and cupcakes, their cookies are incredible too. My family has used Mix Bakery for birthdays, anniversaries, our wedding, and other celebrations over the years, and they've never let us down. Everything has always turned out great. The place honestly reminds me of the old-school bakeries I grew up with in Brooklyn. The kind of place where you walk in and you know you're going to get good desserts and friendly service. The staff is always really welcoming and helpful, and you can tell they care about their customers. They're also very connected to the community and often donate goods or support local events, which I always appreciate. If you're looking for great cupcakes, cakes, or just a good dessert, Mix Bakery is definitely worth checking out. read more

This bakery is DANGEROUS! I have yet to try something I haven't enjoyed. I'm not gluten intolerant but even the gluten free options are delicious, the peanut butter crisps being a personal favorite. The jumbo cupcakes are always a huge hit in our household and with the buy 5 get 1 free deal on them, they're always a go to for every potlluck/get togethers of any kind. I highly recommend German Chocolate or any one of the strawberry options, there's typically 2-3 made available. Even if the deserts don't entice you, it's still worth the trip just to experience the atmosphere and take a peek at the custom cakes. The decorators are truly gifted and the staff is friendly. I'm happy to see a business like this one thrive in the community and look forward to watching it grow. read more

Needed a Birthday cake same day! New to Merced and just happen to get a google hit on a bakery right down the street! The Mix called very friendly lady answered the phone. Told her what I needed she said sorry we don't do same day orders but we have a large selection of cakes available. So I went down to see what I could find off the rack. Truthfully I was a little shocked at the prices. But I found one and also got a few cup cakes. Never paid that much for a cake before honestly. But I tell you what Hands down the best cake I have ever eaten from a bakery or store Ever! Was worth every penny spent! Delicious even three days later! I was disappointed with my experience at Mix Bakery. The customer service felt unfriendly and inattentive, which made me feel unwelcome. I had higher expectations based on the reviews, but the staff interactions left a lot to be desired. As for the cupcakes, they were just average. They looked great, but the flavor didn't stand out and wasn't anything special for the price. Overall, the experience didn't meet my expectations. I hope the bakery focuses on improving customer service and putting more effort into making their products as impressive as they look. read more

Mix Bakery is an absolute gem! The pastries are fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. I was especially impressed by Emily, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding me through the menu with a warm smile. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect spot to enjoy a treat. My first order was a small wedding cake for my 40+ wedding celebration. My husband had a taste of the cake, and now I can't keep him away from Mix Bakery. Needless to say we LOVE everything they bake and the service could not be better. I just need them to post his picture and stop selling to him so often. He has lost 100#, Gotta keep it that way. I rarely need to use dry cleaner services but a wrinkled t-shirt was not going to fly for my upcoming conference. I picked one that opened pretty early. Suit in hand, I got there first thing at 7am on a Tuesday. Jane at the cash register was so kind and assured me everything would look great. Not only is this place amazing with what they do with sweets! Their employees are just as sweet! I was having trouble with my bank card and they accommodated my stuff. Mix Bakery NEVER disappoints! Everything is incredibly delicious. They even are offering thick foccacia pizza on Thur & Fri now.
