My only small wish was that it had a bit more jalapeño kick to really bring the heat, but I'd still order it again. I also tried the clam chowder, which was okay--not bad, just not the standout for me. For drinks, I had a matcha, and it was really good--smooth and well balanced. We also took dessert to go and got a banana pie slice, which was tasty and not overly sweet. The service was excellent. Over the holidays, my girlfriend's family wanted to dine at Jantz for a family breakfast and we were lucky enough to grab a table on Christmas Eve morning. This was my second time at Jantz, and if you are a fan of all things breakfast and brunch in the 209, this place is solid. The cafe makes delicious coffee/lattes, lots of seasonal options which were cool to see. The prices match the portion size, and honestly most meals I've gotten could've been two small meals within one. On my last visit, I got the 3-meat omelette and there was no shortage of meat. All the protein I could ever want, and tasty too. The only thing I didn't like was their breakfast potatoes. Not much flavor and needs to be crispier to me. If you are looking for something sweet, the cinnamon roll is a great choice. Overall, great for breakfast and for small and large groups. The service is always kind and friendly. They even sell their bread you can bake at home and fresh honey. To the left of the entrance is a cafe for all your coffee needs and they have quite a selection of creative lattes! Every dish has been great here. This place is perfect for large groups too, we always find ourselves coming back. They have great lunch specials where you can choose a side. She got the latte with brown sugar cinnamon and oat milk and I got the cold brew (added vanilla) with a hazelnut soft top. The macaroni salad was heavy on the dill but overall not bad. Their peach iced tea is refreshing and delicious too! We ordered a banana cream pie to go, and it was amazing. It has a thin buttery crust, a layer of bananas, a layer of smooth banana cream, and a layer of whipped cream on top. Highly recommend this pie! Service: The staff here is very friendly, genuine, and welcoming. Service was excellent even though the place was so busy. Our server told us all of their baked goods are baked at this location, which is the original location, and shipped to their other two locations in Merced and Mariposa. Ambiance: This place is a warm and cozy cafe style restaurant. Good for small and large parties. There aren't that many tables for dining in, but this place is worth the wait.
