After leaving the Denny's at Landers Ave in Turlock because it was freezing in there we decided to try the one on Sycamore Avenue in Atwater. It sucks there to. They had only one server who was so overwhelmed people had to wait to put in their order. The place was extremely busy and caters to one particular group it seems. But they don't care since all they seem to care about is eating. If you're not, good luck. We left again seeing we were going to have to wait to be served. It's a pity we can't find a decent Denny's that isn't freezing or has enough servers. We didn't even get menus or water. Don't go there unless you're from Tiajuana. . read more

I hadn't been to Denny's in forever, and after going for the first time in over a decade, i think it might be a while before I try it again. We came in for breakfast, and were able to get a seat right away for a group of 10. It was getting busy, and they only had a couple of servers for the entire restaurant so shout out to our server for hustling to get our orders in and out. I went with the the club sandwich and the sampler platter. I was actually surprised at how good the boneless wings were, but the mozzarella sticks and onion rings were just ok. The club sandwich was good, but it needed mayo and salt. The bread was a little too toasty so it was rough to eat. The major issue we had was that one of our orders of toast had mold on it. I'm sure it was a mistake, but honestly we are glad we caught it before someone ate it. I hadn't been in a while and the prices are pretty up there for what it is. Most dishes are coming in around $15-20, which is steep given the quality. read more

Bill was wrong but I didn't feel like trying to get the waiter to understand what was wrong. We hadn't been to this location in years. It will likely be years before we go again. Really poor and slow service. There's 2 other tables besides us and it's taken well over 10 minutes to take our drink order. Drink orders are to be taken when the customer sits down at the booth or table. It should not take 10+ minutes to ask what we would like to drink. Trash don't waste your money there eat across the street smh. The "waiter" didn't write down my order then it came out wrong an he blamed me for it. I asked for season fries he gave me plain fries with no salt so I said whatever it's cool. Can I get some ranch? He said yeah they charge you a dollar for a ranch an said it's a very small container. at that point I just packed my food up so I can leave. You'll notice the standards there are very low even for dennys. Last time I was there I befriended the other waiter a they said the same thing the owners are very cheap and stingy. I arrived at 3am and was seated immediately. Rosa was my server and she was great. Police officers were dining a couple of tables away so the food must be good! My breakfast was a special order and it came to the table quickly. I only note two minor issues. First, the white cheddar cheese in my omelette had the consistency of a mozzarella. Not bad but I had hoped for a different cheddar. Next time. Second, when I went to the hostess counter to pay the bill, Dennys computers were doing the daily reboot and the hostess apologized and said it would be 5-10 minutes delay. 7:30PM time of visit. Just to start off, i would give 0 stars if i could Our family decided to see if this place has had any improvement and Dennys sounded good. We made a mistake - Wasn't greeted as the waitress walked around not acknowledging us. There was only 2 tables that were occupied. Waited about 10 minutes - Watched an elderly Mennonite couple wait to be greeted the whole time we were sitting. It took so long they just decided to leave. - Was seated at a dirty table. When we asked for it to be wiped down, we were given a dirty look and they took there time to get to cleaning the table - Waiter and manager would walk to the other 2 gables to check on them. We didn't get anyone at our gable for 15 minutes. - Utensils were dirty so we asked to have them sent back. That was un comftorable after asking to have the table cleaned - Food took forever to get. Recommendation: Whoever runs this place or at least this shift is too complacent and gives a bad impression. This place use to be a good place to eat. Sorry Denny's! We had a horrible experience a couple weeks ago! Walked in and was seated right away, went to the restroom to wash up. They were out of soap and paper towels so that made it impossible to wash our hands. Luckily, I brought hand sanitizer and wet wipes. Strike 1! Waitress was impatient, it took a very long time to get our food, and when we got it, she forgot my daughters side salad. My nachos were cold and she offered to microwave them instead of making me a new plate. Strike 2! I have never not left a tip, but I left nothing this time because of the service and experience. I asked to speak to the manager, and was told she wasn't there right now. So they offered to have her call me, it has been 4 weeks and I have not heard from her! Strike 3! I rate them one star because I can't zero. My family and I came in for breakfast today on 09/29/2020 and had a not so great experience. We were seated at a table in the "patio" area right underneath the sun. When asked if we could switch tables our server told us we couldn't because someone else was waiting at the door. So we stayed and tried to enjoy breakfast. As we were sitting trying to eat it began getting hotter and we asked if there was a possibility of them closing up the tarp that they had laying over the area to keep the sun out. Our server said "Yeah we can try".. and went on telling us about a previous family that was here and seated at the same table that felt the need to just leave because of the heat. We decided to ask for boxes and leave. When at the register I asked to speak to the manager. When speaking to the manager and expressing my concerns she said there was nothing she can do. She continued to say that when the tarp was all the way down people would complain too, so basically they're not stressing with it. I simply said to her "so you're going to keep losing customers all because you guys don't want to fix a tarp?.. and you're going to keep risking people's health?.. people are sensitive to the sun and high risk of nose bleeds also heat stroke and you're willing to risk them because you're lazy and don't want to make a simple fix?".. her ignorance frustrated me so much I just paid my bill turned and looked at her and said "good luck" and walked out!. I usually don't mind stopping in and eating at Denny's. I went to the Denny's in Atwater, California at 5:30 AM. There was only one other customer. I ordered off of the value menu the small grand slam breakfast. First of all, the coffee wasn't up to normal Denny's standards. Part of the reason I don't mind Denny's is because they usually have good coffee. This coffee was not good. Also, had to go find the waiter in order to get a refill. Now you remember I said that there was only one other customer. I feel like even if he was doing stuff in the back, he could've come out and refilled my coffee without me having to go find him. Breakfast came out and it was cold. It was cold and my over medium eggs were crunchy on the outside. Kind of had a strange texture. Pancakes were OK but the syrup container would not pour without taking the spout off. Then to top it off, when I went to pay the cost of my breakfast was more than it said in the menu. I didn't argue with the waiter because I was just kind of done with the place and it wasn't a lot of money, but it was more than it said on the menu. I do not recommend this restaurant and I think one star is pretty generous. Maybe the pancakes are worth a couple stars, but they entire experience was not worth a full star. read more

The party had not ordered yet as far as I could see. Waitress forgot a beverage that was included with the meal. She still got a tip. Wow! The service and good were amazing!! Danyel was prompt, efficient, kind and spot-on with all our special requests! Food was delicious and fresh. Got the veggie skillet with no egg (good vegan option). It was perfectly cooked! My friend got the senior omelette with fruit and toast with no butter. Everything came out as requested. I've had some great burgers here, but today was a disaster. Took my daughter and grandson for dine in breakfast to celebrate the opening up, but very disappointed in the food. A sign on the door shows hiring for cooks, serving and kitchen staff. I don't know who did the cooking but it wasn't a cook. Our food took more than 35 minutes to arrive then another 10 for the overcooked steak to be replaced with a raw one. The food was BAD. How does one screw up breakfast at Denny's?
