Came on a Monday morning around 9:30, there was only one customer (shocking). Service was fast. Placed our order and food came out fresh and quick. They had music playing but not too loud. Waitress continued to check on us through out the meal. The kids pancake was as thick as other restaurants short stack. Bacon was cooked crispy (good in our opinion). My fried rice and linguica was delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly. Wish the linguica was a bit warmer but it was still good. I chose a biscuit and I'm so glad I did, it was huge, tasted fresh and the butter it comes with??? WOW!!!! It was sooo good. My husband's plate of fried rice with ham, bacon and another meat was massive!!!! He wasn't even hungry until dinner. Will we return? Absolutely!!! read more

Out of towners here. Came because there was a parking lot and the food looked pretty good online! Came in and it's a seat yourself situation. We found a table and ordered. Waiter and all of the dates we interacted with were very nice. Food was good, country potatoes were boiled and not fried and not seasoned great, but everything else was diner style and tasted good. Here's the issue on why I'm giving 3 stars: it was Sunday brunch, which I know can be busy and hectic and crazy. They had no host and so when people were coming in when the tables were full, the seating situation was managed poorly. The staff tried to tag team but it didn't work out super well and some people got sat before others who came earlier, simply because they were waiting outside. It was just kind of crazy and personally I think a hostess is an important position you can't just not have. I highly recommend when the diner is at capacity to have a staff member stop what they are doing and focus solely on the hostess stand. read more

I like this place. The ambiance feels homey and seems like a great community hangout. The service was quick and friendly. The food was amazing. 1-12-26 time to update my review for breakfast. I haven't been here since 2023 because the food had gone downhill. Its a little better now. I had the eggs Benedict on biscuits, which was served on top of a huge serving of hash browns. I would have liked 2 plates for this as my hash browns got soggy quickly. I was disappointed to see that the hollendaise sauce was broken but atleast my eggs were perfectly cooked. It had 2 thick slices of ham which were burnt on the bottom. The biscuit was big, the last time I was here they were small, these were house made I appreciate that. My friend got the chicken fried steak with huge serving of home fries again they looked a little burnt and 2 pancakes. His eggs were also perfectly cooked. He drinks a lot of coffee and they kept his cup full. So the portions are definitely bigger than last time. Still not as good as they were back in the day. read more

We have been coming to this place for the last 6 years. The food is great and consistent. The staff goes above and beyond every time. Super friendly and remember your name. It feels like being home. To the lady complaining about waiting to be seated, perhaps she didn't see the sign to "seat yourself". I cannot say enough about this restaurant, i had plenty of time to spare when my car was being seen so i came here and im SO glad! the workers were amazing, food options amazing, i dont eat meat so there was plenty for me, but i can literally go back just for that buscuit and gravy! ive taken everyone i know there already for breakfast, and the other day i was able to have them for lunch and once again everything went smooth, they accomodaded my 2 year old with her needs since there was no real child menu even had perfectly cut up small fruits! i just moved to marina and this place is walking discance i highly reccomend this place! read more

If this were a first class resort with an ocean view, I would understand that. But that is not this diner. It's a diner in a strip mall, overlooking downtown Marina. It's not in the boonies or anything, it's just expensive, with no explanation. I considered going for a senior special, but the cheapest was 11 bucks for a spartan breakfast. 8 bucks for two coffees? Came here for brunch right after church. The place was fairly busy, but not too much. We were seated immediately. Food was great and the service was quick. The servers were friendly. If you like eating your Filipino cured meats (tocino) or sweet sausage (langonisa) with garlic vinegar, you can ask for it on the side. They don't typically include it unless you ask. The adobo fried rice was great, but could be better if they used day old rice instead of freshly steamed rice. But overall, I give this place a 4-star and will definitely come again. read more

Well I've been coming for breakfast here for sometime now. As usual the service is great and Dominic is his eager and friendly self. They also have a lunch menu but I've only always do breakfast The serving are large so bring an appetite or you can split like we do. There is a senior menu as well and the serving are a bit smaller but all in all, I and we always bring our guests and visiting family here because it always a great spot. We were in Marina for an extended weekend to visit our daughter and consult with her about buying her first home. Knowing that we love trying new restaurants she suggested Daddy's City Diner. I'm always on the hunt for a good breakfast spot. They are known for their generous portions and breakfast choices including not only classic American meals like 5 egg omelets, Eggs Benedict, plate size pancakes, etc but they also have Filipino and Hawaiian choices. On my daughter's recommendation I ordered Pork Adobo over fried rice topped with 2 over medium fried egg with a Lumpia Shanghai appetizer. Our daughter had another family favorite, Loco Moco, a bed of rice topped with a thick hamburger patty smothered in rich brown gravy and topped with fried eggs. My wife ordered a 3 egg omelette with Spinach, Ham and cheese. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive keeping our coffee and water full without prompting. I was pleased with the flavors of their version of pork adobo and rice. My eggs were cooked over medium as I requested. Their Loco Moco was also well seasoned and satisfying. My daughter ordered a side of hash browns to go with it. It was presented hot with a crisp outer layer and properly cooked center. The only misses, and the reason why my initial rating is only 3 stars, were my wife's omelette and my Lumpia Shanghai appetizer. The omelette appeared to be hastily cooked in a pan that was too hot leaving the omlette dry the spinach unpleasantly overcooked. The Lumpia Shanghai was a little soggy and lacked fresh fried crispiness. It appeared to be pre-fried and warmed on demand. I was expecting long, thin rolls with a crisp shell typical of Lumpia Shanghai but their version was more like fried nuggets of meat filled egg rolls. In the final analysis I would be happy to pay another visit to Daddy's City Diner. I'd really enjoyed their Pork Adobo and Loco Moco. I'd like to try their Filipino Breakfast and their 5 egg omelette that fellow Yelpers rave about. read more

Crepe were more of a rolled pancake with bananas inside but it was still delicious, love the sweet/savory butter and whipped cream. Great deal for $16. Doesn't look like much from the outside, a diner in a strip mall, but it doesn't look like much from the inside either. It is, however, comfortable, spacious, warm, and inviting. The owner, Gina, makes everybody feel welcomed and makes sure to check on each table. The menu is pretty varied and the portions are generous. My wife ordered a Senior breakfast with an extra order of home fried potatoes. The sausage that came with it was actually pretty extraordinary and cooked perfectly. I ordered a side of fried rice, a side of SOS, and an egg over easy. I tried each separately and the rice was delicious, the SOS rich, and the egg cooked perfectly. When I made an unholy mixture of all of them the combination (with a touch of hot sauce) it was sublime. I look forward to going back to try a specialty that Gina told me about as I was checking out.
