Hot Link Philly and Peppers --very ordinary sandwich

I have been wanting to go here but never had the chance. Finally, my boyfriend and I were meeting up with friends here for brunch. I was debating whether to get their chicken and waffles OR egg whites only omelet. I went with the chicken and waffles, which was probably a mistake. I told the server to make the chicken extra well done, which it was. However, the chicken wasn't crispy like Popeye's. The waffles were too sweet for me. It reminded me of a cake batter. I didn't like it at all. My boyfriend ordered the Hot Link Philly and Peppers. He got fries for the sides. The sandwich wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The link was cut in half, and it tasted like your ordinary sandwich. I had some of his fries and I didn't like it much. The only good thing about this place is their staff. They are nice and very helpful. We won't be back for sure.

Left very satisfied and definitely over ate. I was super impressed with everything actually. We ordered a lot to try pre things and it made us eat more lol. Meat lover omelette - delicious! Got the side pancakes too (also very good, i finished them!) Hubby got the bacon combo with biscuit and gravy, the gravy lacked some flavor but we're actually not big gravy ppl so didn't bother us. And we had so much food, we didn't miss it. We also shared a plain waffle, yum! Cooke just like we like!

I recently went to this place because I live near by but never tried it before, best decision! The food looked great, the waffles were great soft and a little bit crispy, the apples were delicious as well. The service was good, staff was really nice, over all I really recommend this place.

Each time we visit here for breakfast, we always get great service from friendly staff members. We love their vast selection of foods to choose from on the menu, including their specials. Our food always arrives hot and fresh. They close in the afternoon but open up bright and early, so give them a visit soon and enjoy!

Food was amazing ! I had the banana pecan waffle combo. The waffles were fluffy and sweet. The bacon and sausage crispy and warm and the scrambled eggs perfectly cooked. My brother had the breakfast croissant and added avocado. He enjoyed his sandwich. He said the bread was toasted to perfection. As a side he had a bowl of fruit that he shared with my baby and they both enjoyed the sweetness of the fruit. For my toddler I ordered fries and chicken strips. The meals were big enough for us to bring the leftover home. My toddler enjoyed the fries and crispy chicken strips. The service was amazing ! We had a great server who checked in on us often and made sure we were well taken care of. Will definitely be back. read more

Staff is nice not very attentive though .. so we order the chorizo breakfast burrito, and then we ordered a meal from the senior menu. It had potatoes, eggs, and a couple pieces of bacon. First, I have to say the food was mediocre warm. I don't know what was mistaken so long but you know it came to our table just tempted second thing I noticed is they don't know how to make country fried potatoes. They gave me au gratin potatoes without the au gratin part just the potatoes sliced thin but yet they weren't able to cook them all the way through like Country fried potatoes there was no seasoning. No nothing. It was like eating in England and with the way the English I've been talking about the way their food is that's not all that great. I would really like to teach them how to make potatoes. A chorizo burrito was greasy. I would like to teach them how to make one of those two so just remember people the service may be OK but you know what kills a restaurant is there food so they should actually get somebody that knows how to cook and actually takes pride in their cooking because this person absolutely did not so I don't know who is a cook over there, but they need to go learn something useful. read more

Walked in with my 5 year old daughter for lunch. We were halfway through our meal when of course she had to go to the restroom. I hesitated, but I rather rush her over than have an accident. We were maybe gone 3 minutes. I comeback our table is cleared and they are sitting others. Our food got thrown out, no one apologized besides the cashier in the front because I was still going to pay for our meal. I was told I should have left my purse or phone?!? Like sure let me have that be stolen as I go to the restroom. They ended up charging me for half the meal, but I left feeling horrible as I couldn't believe that happened and being 7 months pregnant and the hormones rushing. I would not come back. read more

* 2026-01-30 I ordered breakfast from Country Waffle in Merced and had it delivered to my home. Who orders Pancakes with no Butter or Syrup? DoorDash delivered 3 Pancakes with no Butter or Syrup. When I called the first time to complain, the store blamed DoorDash, then they told me that I didn't check the box for condiments. I called back 10 minutes later to complain that I could not eat dry Pancakes and I requested a refund for the Pancakes only. The woman put me on hold. When she came back to the phone she said, I spoke with my Manager and we will not give you a refund for the Pancakes. Are people really this STUPID? Apparently they are. I hope your next Waffles or Pancakes are served without any Butter or Syrup!!!! I rate you all a ZERO for this!!!!! I prefer to do my business with companies who have basic common sense. Obviously this business and its employees dont have any. No more business from me!!!!!! read more

Me and my family went there Tuesday morning for my sister in laws birthday. And the server was okay, but she looked irritated when my sister in law asked for fresh strawberries because they tasted freezer burnt. Me and my husband both ordered a burger. I got the California and he got the western and they were awful. We honestly could not even take more than one bite. I've never tried a burger that I didn't like lol and to make it worse the fries were undercooked with no seasoning. Not going back there ever again. I hope they improve because we are limited with places to eat in Merced. Oh and the prices are ridiculous. Definitely the most expensive restaurant in Merced for a burger! for two burgers we payed 51$ that's including one drink! I just got water read more

I have lived in Merced for 5 years before, and I don't know why I have never came here. It was a nice refreshing place. The food was actually really good and they get pack easily in the morning. I had the steak and expected them to over cook it but honestly they did really well. read more

Came here on 4/11 looking for a late breakfast. Our server was an older woman, very kind, and very quick as well. I ordered the Santa Barbara Benedict, my partner ordered the Denver omelette which came with a waffle. It's unfortunate that I only got a photo of the waffle, but trust me when I say this place is worth your time and money. My eggs Benedict was absolutely delicious, my partner enjoyed their omelette as well. We were so full and my partner couldn't even eat their waffle, but we got it to go, and I volunteered myself to eat it for them. Needless to say, it was delicious even hours later, I can only imagine how well it would've tasted had I'd eaten it fresh. Merced has a LOT of subpar restaurants/food but country waffles is NOT one of those restaurants. If I am ever in Merced again, I know where I'll be getting breakfast! read more

Ordered through door dash and these are the worse pancakes I've ever had and tried!! It's disappointing and sad like how can you not make a nice fluffy pancake ? I called the restaurant and they told me They can give me a fresh stack. Like really I ordered 3 orders. Never again wasting my money on them. The food is tasteless. My husband and I just went there. We were told about a 15 minute wait. No problem we will wait. The hostes took Our name and we sat down to wait. Not more the a couple minutes later a couple came is and the hostess told them about 10 minutes or she said you can have this table right here and pointed to a table that was empty. This place was not so great In the past but as of late looks like they have done some upgrades to the interior and new and hard working staff with the combination of the abundant amount of delicious food choices has made this breakfast restaurant one of my family favorites to go to on Sunday's!!! Their food is SO good! I usually get a big breakfast like chicken fried steak n eggs w/ biscuits n gravy. All the fix'ns! This time we were running late for lunch. They were closing but still let us in! The server was SO nice. The place was almost empty so the ambiance was great! I am now a senior and their senior menu had lots of choices. I had clam chowder soup and BLT sandwich. Trin had the heavy breakfast! Always good! I wish they were open for dinner! read more

Hey wait! Those two ladies came in five minutes after me and their orders have already been taken. Sorry, but I'm on my lunch hour. I was seated by the hostess and she brought my soda right away. But no server and it's not busy even though it's just after noon. Yay, here she is! I ordered the rancher's skillet. I'll post a pic and let you know how it was when it arrives. Food came quickly and it was really tasty. My server even acknowledged that she left me waiting when I came in. Yay! That made me feel better and she was very nice. 4 stars now. You could easily share them between two people and they let you choose a sauce for the pancakes, whether that's syrup Nutella or condensed milk. The espresso shots were actually really good. The restaurant was not very busy and it took almost 20 mins just to be seated at our table. We then took our place at the table and we waited another 10-15 mins for someone to wait on us. We kindly flagged the young male server there and asked him if he could get our server to assist us. The young female server finally came out to assist us - she was not very welcoming but proceeded to take our drink order. It took almost 15 minutes to get our mimosas and water. She did not greet us, inquiry if it was our first time there or gave us suggestions on the menu. She then proceeded to take our order which took a while to get our food. The plus - everyone enjoyed our meals from the way they were prepared to the ingredients. No one ever came to our table and gave us any water nor did they ask for a refill on our drinks. During this time I peeked around the corner and saw staff just sitting in the back talking to one another. I tried to keep the experience positive for my group of friends but they were also growing concerned about the lack of hospitality. The lunch schedule was only until 2 pm but because of Rainbird's delay in seating us, taking our drink orders as well as the slight delay we felt we were now being rushed to finish our lunch, I also wanted to celebrate our friend's birthday and I brought a cake - the server proceeded to tell me it would be a $5 charge per person if I cut the cake there. She did offer to bring a complimentary dessert for our guest of honor. In my opinion, due to the service we were not receiving the cake fee should have been at least discounted or offset due to the lackluster enthusiasm and service. As we were trying to finish our lunch and take pictures at this beautiful establishment we could see the "side eyes" of staff rushing to get us out the door. I am a firm believer of supporting small businesses in Merced since I was born and raised there and let's face it - Merced has very limited fine dining and we wanted to do something nice for us. In order for small businesses to thrive in this town they need our consumerism to stay in business. As I read from all the exemplary reviews on this platform we unfortunately had a very bad experience with this lovely establishment. A group of us came from Madera so that we could meet our gals from Merced as a middle location. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the service as well as the treatment we received from Rainbird. Next year we will choose another location for our next gathering. Please do better Rainbird.

Unfortunately, I left it behind and called back, only to be told it was thrown away and nothing could be done.
