This Starbucks is located at the front of the El Corte Inglés department store, a short walk away from the São Sebastião metro station. Despite being located inside a department store, the prices are the same as you'd expect to pay at any Starbucks in Lisbon.
I was reasonably impressed with Starbucks in Portugal as a whole, while US/UK Starbucks cards are not accepted, it does appear to be well run and has the same board menu for drinks as you'd expect to find in any Starbucks in the EMEA region. Pricing was also quite good, an Iced Gingerbread Latte would cost €5, which works out cheaper than I would have paid back home in the UK, at current conversion rates this would work out €5.66.
The staff seemed nice, although their English skills were limited - so be prepared to have Google Translate on stand-by especially if you want to make any modifications to your drink.
While there was a long wait in the queue to get served, after ordering my drink was served very quickly so I can't complain about that. It did seem quite busy, and the only table I could find was a large communal seating. This place could definitely do with a refurb to make the place look a little more modern, as well as add more seating (especially comfortable seating which is needed).
For drink quality, my beverage tasted good. I ordered an Iced Gingerbread Latte with no sprinkles. My drink was served without a lid though, I'm not sure if this is for the environment or because they just forgot, I did have to ask twice to get a lid which seems something so basic.
3* - Decent Starbucks, I enjoyed my coffee although improvements could be made to the overall experience. read more
